The wait usually depends on the insurance requirements you have to meet. In my instance, I went to my first seminar Oct. 29, got an appointment to see the surgery Nov. 6, decided on the sleeve and was approved on Nov. 10, as long as all my tests came back ok. I chose to be sleeved on Dec. 29th, as it gave me enough time to get all my testing done before the date I selected to be operated. Today my Dr. turned in my clearance forms and I'm officially good to go for the 29th!!!!

I am scheduled for 12/29. There will be 2 surgeons and an anesthesiologist in the OR with me.

Hi @@Beth Pets I'm having surgery on 12/29 @ HUMC, an Advanced Lap surgeon as well, Dr. Schmidt! =) how are you doing/feeling? How was your hospital stay?

@@Elode you were right! Nothing to worry about. She didn't even weigh me! We just talked about post-op diet & what to expect! 18 days to go!!!!! I'm ready!

Thanks! I guess you're right! Just worried because a friend was saying they could deny me for gaining weight, or delay it till I lose some weight.

Today I see the nutritionist. I'm nervous about it because when I last saw the surgeon, on 11/6, I was 10 lbs lighter than I am now. My insurance already approved me, and I'm scheduled for surgery on 12/29. This is my last Dr's appt before surgery, but I'm afraid the nutritionist will change all that because I've gained more weight. Of course it's my fault I've gained, because I'm eating everything I feel I can't have after surgery, but can it be delayed due to weight gain?! My Dr. doesn't require a 2 week pre-op diet, but I am putting myself on one starting Monday, exactly 2 weeks before my big day.

Far from vain! If you don't take care of yourself, then who will?

December 29th here! I'm as nervous as I am excited, and have become obsessed with this surgery, constantly researching and can barely sleep. =/

@@KMendez325 we're on the same boat! My husband says he can't wait for me to do the surgery and start seeing results so he doesn't have to hear me complaining that nothing fits or looks good! Have you ever seen the movie "White Chicks"? I'm that girl in the fitting room insulting myself! Lol because the scene is kind of funny but it's sad and depressing in actuality.
