Honest truth about genepro protein powder
It sounds like you're doing pretty well with the GENEPRO. I've read so many good reviews on it that I decided to go ahead and purchase a couple of sample packets so I can give it a try. Hearing good results like yours really makes me hope it works well for me. I'd like to have one Protein supplement that will work in most anything I want to put it in. May I ask....what kinds of problems are you having with meat? I haven't had my surgery yet, and it hadn't occurred to me that there could be problems with eating meat afterward. I've always been a meat and potatoes person who eats meat with every meal.

Question for people who use Genepro protein powder
@@carolk36 That would be great, thank you. I've been reading a lot of good things about it so I decided to at least order a couple of sample packets to try out the flavor and texture. I was just looking at your stats - you're doing GREAT!! Congratulations!

Question about gene pro.
I had the same question as the OP about GENEPRO. Has anyone actually had blood work done to check their Protein levels since starting on Genepro? I mean lab results from your own doctor that show it works as they claim it does? I'm interested, but their claims sound too good to be true. I don't want to take it thinking I'm getting the protein my body needs after bypass surgery and then find out it's all a sham. But I haven't seen one review yet that's supported by factual evidence of protein levels in the body after taking the product for any length of time. Have you had any other noticeable results (or problems) since you started taking Genepro?

So how much have you lost weekly
It sounds like everyone is really having great results - congratulations!! It's been a few weeks since updates were posted. Anyone care to update us their progress? My MGB surgery isn't scheduled until after the first of the year so I'm living vicariously through your success stories until then. For those who wouldn't mind, I'd love to ask some questions about your surgery/recovery experiences and what tips/advice you could share.

RNY or Mini Gastric Bypass?
You're doing fabulous as well. What made you decide on a mini gastric bypass instead of an RNY or a sleeve?

Omega loop (mini gastric bypass) in october!
Can anyone provide updates on how you're doing?

Can anyone offer input on Dr. Jose Rodriguez &/or BeLiteWeight?
I'm not sure when he did his training on single incision surgery. I thought about having mine done as a single incision, but I already have the scars from my gall bladder removal so I figured why bother. My surgery date is still a little ways out, but I'm keeping myself entertained by trying samples of different protein powders and drinks, researching vitamins and other supplements, and making lists and checking them twice. Time has never moved so slowly!

When you put it like that, I definitely want to go alone.

What a terrific Christmas present to yourself! I'd love to hear how everything goes, and what you think of the doctors and the hospital. Are you going by yourself or will you have a companion? I plan to go by myself, but I'm a little nervous about it. Best wishes!

Wearing a medical bracelet after bypass surgery
This is such a good idea! After reading this thread, I ordered a bracelet from www.laurenshope.com as well. With so many choices, it was hard to pick just one! How long did it take for your bracelet to arrive after you ordered?

What's your opinion of these Celebrate Vitamins (capsules)?
Rocky1, I did consider using a multiviitamin crystal or powder. It's just that I'm already going to be adding so many different supplements to my drinks (Protein, Upcal D, and fiber) that I would like to avoid having to add another. My plan is to use a chewable multivitamin and calcium for the first few weeks after surgery and then switch to capsule/pill form once I'm able.

What's your opinion of these Celebrate Vitamins (capsules)?
The Pro-Care One-A-Day sounded interesting so I looked it up. It doesn't seem to contain any Vitamin K. Will we not need Vitamin K after surgery? You make an excellent point about waiting to buy. I'll just use this time to learn about my future needs so I can make an informed choice when the time comes.

What's your opinion of these Celebrate Vitamins (capsules)?
Thank you for catching that! I posted the info on the wrong formula - I intended to show the info for the same formula with iron.

What's your opinion of these Celebrate Vitamins (capsules)?
I haven't had my gastric bypass surgery yet but I'm trying to research and get everything I'll need ahead of time. I think I have most everything except Vitamins and I can't decide which ones to get. I'm considering these capsules because I've never been fond of chewable anything. I would appreciate your thoughts - what's your opinion of these vitamins? (I do realize I'll need Calcium citrate in addition to these vitamins.) Will I be able to absorb sufficiently from capsule form? Will these satisfy my basic nutritional requirements? They're the same price as the Celebrate chewables, and I really think I would prefer these over the chewables. CELEBRATE BARIATRIC Multivitamin CAPSULES Developed specifically for surgical weight loss patients, Celebrate bariatric multivitamin provides the most thorough blend of vitamins and minerals available. Our integrated formula provides maximum bioavailability as we have carefully selected each Vitamin and mineral level and form to enhance interaction and absorption. Our daily dosage is made up of three easy to swallow capsules, which will dissolve quickly and do not contain any ingredients that may upset your pouch.

Gastric bypass in Mexico?
I'll definitely be doing all of that - thank you!

Gastric bypass in Mexico?
I'm so happy to hear that everything is going well for you! Did you have much pain, or difficulty during recovery? How was your trip home?
-
Gastric bypass in Mexico?
Thank you for the information! I worry about PE and DVT as well. Did your doctor put you on blood thinners after surgery? I've read that some do and some don't. How long was your flight? Mine should be about 5 hours.

What protein drinks did you try for the pre-op diet?
Thank you!

What protein drinks did you try for the pre-op diet?
Does Sam's carry the vanilla or strawberry Premier Protein? I'd like to find it in something besides just chocolate.

Can anyone offer input on Dr. Jose Rodriguez &/or BeLiteWeight?
I agree - the coordinator I've been working with hasn't been pushy, either. I also agree - I'm ready for the surgery to be over with! I want to feel better and ache less so I can start enjoying life. I hope January works out for you, best wishes!

Juarez or Tijuana?
Dr. Rod works in Tijuana at Angeles Hospital one week a month. That's where I plan to have him do my surgery. It adds a couple of hours to my flight time but the flights cost about the same they as they do to Juarez. Maybe you could ask which weeks he'll be in Tijuana and see if you can find a date that works for you? I've spoken with several people who've had surgery with Dr. Rod in Juarez, and not one mentioned having any problems traveling to, staying in, or traveling from Juarez. They all had good things to say about Star Medica and the staff there. BeLiteWeight may be able to give you some patient names to contact for references and information on their experiences in Juarez. Good luck!

RNY or Mini Gastric Bypass?
That is terrific - congratulations!
