15 Years postop, gained but back on track
Hi, so happy to hear you are back on track, I am a 6 years Vet and had RNY, I have gained back 20 pounds of the 60 pounds that I had lost, due to stress , I have become Vegan now and going back to bad habits, like eating second portions ( I still take my vitamins and don’t drink at the same time as eating) would love to follow your success and learn how to go back to basics

What to do about weight gain?
I had my op 5 years ago and have regained more pounds than I expected and feel very down, which makes me eat emotionally! Never a good thing! Well I have just decided to lose the pounds and have started eating low carb and started listening to podcasts all about weight loss, Keto and healthy ways , I find it really helps listening to 1 podcast a day to help keep me focused and motivated!

Have you checked your iron levels? Insomnia could be a side effect of anaemia

Any Type 1 diabetics here?
I found after the operation that I could only use sugar in forms of liquid for my hypo's as I couldn't eat sweet food quick enough and it would make me feel sick, so I have apple juice cartons and small glucose ( liquid) with me for my hypo's

January Sleevers ❄️
I'm feeling great a year out, down 75 pounds altogether, running twice a week plus 2 functional training exercise classes. but also 3 pounds has crept back on, due to snacking after supper!! (I'm trying not to eat after 9 pm) because once I start snacking, I keep coming back for more food 20 minutes later!! (I'm eating healthy snacks) it's just the bad habit that I had that got me fat in the first place!

Any Type 1 diabetics here?
I have type 1 and am on the pump, I had RNY a year ago today! The best decision ever! Down 75 pounds and the healthiest I have ever been . I knew that the operation will not affect my diabetes in the long run( apart from the fact that I take less Insulin because I eat less Carbs)

The #1 reason that I had the RNY is still an issue.
I have Type 1 Diabetes and had RNY, 6 months ago, I've lost 63 Pounds and my HBA1C has dramatically improved and I take much less Insulin than before, I think you have to give yourself a reality check that Type 1 Diabetes is for Life, and just think positively about losing weight and getting healthier!
