  1. The first few days post-op it was hard for me to find anything I wanted. I gagged on yogurt. I found that really cold and really warm were the best options for me - sugar free Popsicles and hot tea were the best for me. Glad that you are home and no longer throwing up!
  2. You are doing great!!!! I'm totally jealous that you get Water that quickly - I could have NOTHING the day of surgery! I had to wait until 10am the next morning to have ice chips!!! They were the BEST ICE chips EVER!!!!!!!! Here's to a speedy recovery!!
  3. What do you all do if you are just not hungry?? Do you eat anyway? I am 6 days post op and can't seem to feel like eating today....I'm trying to nurse down a protein shake but I don't really feel like I want it!
  4. I am sorry to hear that things didn't go as well as you had hoped. I think every body is different and reacts in different ways. I am sure that while your journey may be a little tougher in the beginning, you will still be successful in the end! Hang in there and keep your chin up!

  6. Here's my diet that I was given to follow. I've seen others that seem so much more strict.
  7. How long did everyone stay on a liquid diet after surgery? When were you allowed to add other food?
  8. I had a headache yesterday and took some liquid children's Tylenol. If you are taking pain meds it could be causing your headache. I think mine was from the way I was sleeping.
  9. I had surgery on the 19th and pooped a lot yesterday! I think drinking 1/2 apple juice, 1/2 water did it for me. Maybe try drinking some apple juice.
  10. It seems like you are doing great! I was kept in the hospital from surgery at 9am on Wednesday to 1pm on Friday. My doctor does that with everyone for some reason. I haven't taken any pain meds since leaving the hospital and slept pretty good last night. Keep walking! It helps a lot !!
  11. So sorry you had such a hard time! I'm glad that you are home and recovering now! I had no issues but I'm just nervous about reading the signs of my new belly! Let us know if you find something that works for you!
  12. Thank you!!! I'm glad I'm not alone! I'm hoping to get at least 40 oz in today but it's proving difficult! I'm gonna try some broth for lunch and pudding for dinner and see if I can tell when I am "full"
  13. I had surgery on the 19th and I am having trouble reading the signs of my stomach. I'm not hungry at all so I am forcing myself to eat. Yesterday I stuck with broth. Today I've had 1 tablespoon of oatmeal - I made 2 but didn't want it :-( And now I'm sipping on a protein shake. What are your signs telling you that you need to eat? Or that you need to stop eating? Any advice would be helpful!

  18. @@Dreamingofhealth Drs orders is absolutely nothing by mouth, I can't even brush my teeth. The nurse said that he wants my belly to rest for the first day and doesn't want me to salivate too much. I can have ice chips starting at 10am and they are doing to be the best I've chips ever!!!!!
  19. Other than total cotton mouth because I can't have anything by mouth today, I am doing really well!!! Pain is very tolerable and I've been up and down to use the bathroom and rest my bottom from being on the bed.
  20. Had surgery this morning at 9 and I'm feeling really good Except for the fact that I can have NOTHING by mouth today and I feel like I'm a cotton ball :-) Pain is very manageable and I haven't been using my pump much. I've gotten up and down several times! I feel AWESOME so far.
