  1. I have been stalled for 4 weeks. I think I have been doing the wrong things too. I am only getting about 800 calories but I often slip in a bite of something else here and there. I am starting this week on serious low carb. Protein first.

Totally frustrated and don't know what to do

Are you looking for him to approve you? You have to do what is right for you. The family insurance that he has is also your insurance. If you need to have your gallbladder out would he have to approve that? You can tell him you are having the surgery and you would appreciate his support. Integrity is admitting that you need more help than exercise alone. Honesty is letting him know your plans. Respect is a 2-way street. You should ask him how can you respect someone who does not respect you. I think maybe you guys need some family counseling. Does he have a EAP program with his insurance? You can call them and get some help with counseling. Be brave stop crying and take charge of your life. If/when you have the surgery there is still a lot of work involved that you will need strength and determination for it to work. Maybe you could have him go to one of the pre-surgery informative meetings.
  3. Congratulations Zane's mom.
  4. I feel like my loss is slow also. My surgery date was 10/16/14 and I have lost 43 lbs. But I am not exercising like I should be. I need to make ME a priority.

The Rules: Do you follow them?

My first rule was broken in the hospital. I couldn't seem to get even a little Water down. The PA came in a put a straw in my chicken broth and said just sip, sip, sip. Straws are now a part of my life. I could not get my water down without a straw. I try to eat my Protein first but my mouth loves blended flavors so I always seem to eat a little of whatever the side items are along with my protein. I do have a morning snack and an afternoon snack. Usually almonds. Twice a week I allow myself a Lindt chocolate truffle. My Doctor told me don't deny myself anything that I really think that I want to taste just be mindful of how much. Things that I used to think were so good (birthday cake) are just not as appealing since I know if I really want it I can have it. Saving the calorie for the Chocolate Truffle is much more appealing. I always account for all of calories since I don't weigh my food I always go on the high side. So far I am down 40 lbs. I know the next 40 are going to be much harder but I am prepared.

    Anyone have regrets?

I am 3 1/2 months out and most days I am very happy about my surgery but the last 2 days have been difficult in that I have had too much to eat. I had a turkey wrap for lunch today that 2 hours later still feels like I am going to burst. I should have only eaten 1/2 of it but my old habit fell into place and I the whole thing. Now I am miserable. I did the same thing last night and was miserable for hours. Tonight I am only going to have a Protein shake because I over did it on calories. It make me depressed wondering why did I have surgery if I still want to eat like this. I am going to have have a good talk with myself.
  7. I asked my Dr. She said about the braut.

    Extended Plateau

That was a great article. I am three weeks out and did not seem to be losing. It is great to have an explanation.
  9. I drink white grape juice also and V8 splash. Both of those go down fairly easy. I just have to try to remember to wait about 5 second between each sip in order not to get gas pain.
  10. I was at 35 bmi and had surgery on October 16 so I am 8 out. I have lost 16 lbs. I am feeling really good about the loss. I have become obsessed with cooking shows. My husband says he can't understand why I would want to see food when I can't eat it. I am still on liquid diet and already hate broth.
