  1. I'm so sorry hun that you are having liver problems. But keep faith and you will get that 60 out of the way and get to have your surgery. I will sure be praying for you sweetie!! Message me anytime!
  2. There is ALOT of Susan Bakers in this Indiana lol. Try looking for me. This is my profile pic.
  3. And my page link is "loveknowsnoboundries"
  4. I don't have my exact date yet. Hopefully will have it tomorrow after I go to see my Nut. I was scheduled for January but when my Doc realized I already finished everything I was asked to do, they said I can have it the middle of December. But that would be cool if you would like to keep up with each others progress. We will definitely be close on surgery dates:)
  5. After my above reply to your question, I read a thread just this morning on here that made me have some of the scared feelings as well. But I will not allow that to discourage me. Every person does not have the same experience with the band. The good results outweighs the bad. I'm going for it! Going after my happy and healthy!!!
  6. My son is thin. My husband wants to lose about 20lbs. My daughter takes after me. I was over weight as a child but I was bigger than she is at the same age (8). She is about 20lbs more than her ideal weight but she is the one who exercises with me mostly. She has been jump roping ALOT lately and that will definitely burn calories and fat. I try to jump rope as well. I'm sure that looks pretty comical lol It feels good when my kids or husband say they are proud of me. That is definitely motivating. I love that they are embracing this lifestyle change. Support of your family and friends I believe, is the key to reaching your goal:)
  7. I am having surgery next month. I am on a low/no carb and lots of protein diet until my pre-op diet. I am super nervous also but the excitement outweighs the fear. The impact I have had on my family of me dieting now, makes me know that I am making the right decision. My husband and kids eat better now and exercise with me. This journey I began has become one for all four of us. Good luck to you hun and God bless you:)
  8. I love all of the positive response to this question. I am going to be banded next month and reading the post from all of you beautiful people make me look forward to it and helps me not be as scared of having my surgery. Congrats to all of you for your weight loss and improved health and happiness:)
  9. Bless your heart. I pray they do approve you hun.
  10. I pray you get approved. It's so hard to get anything out of medicaid. Good luck hun!
  11. They should do a study if you have never had one. If you DO have signs of s.a. make sure to let them know that. I felt like mine was gonna take forever...but it's flying by. I'm a little ahead of you in the process so maybe if you have any questions I can answer them for you. Hit me up anytime and add me as a friend if you want.
  12. Not sure if you need to know how to get approved but With Medicare, with Florida at least, for what i know about approval, you have to have had been overweight for at least 3 yrs, have either high bp, sleep apnea, diabetes. And there are a few more things that qualify and your bmi has to be more than 40 or at least 35 w/co-morbilities. If you haven't been diagnosed with sleep apnea, they may send you to get tested. I myself do not have high bp or diabetes but I do have sleep apnea which I found out after my Doc sent me for the test. I also have acid reflux..BAD. Lapband from what I have been told, will help that if not cure it. I have bad joint pains and arthritis. Looking forward to being lighter on my feet..literally:) Good luck hun!
  13. Thank you "lisacaron" for taking the time to answer my question. I DO have a few questions I would like to ask her about how much daily intake of carbs, calories and protein I should take in. I was afraid she expect me to have done my research and already know this. Thanks again so much hun. Have a blessed day:)
  14. I am still waiting on my exact date but do know its the middle of December and I am having Lapband but i had my choice between that and the sleeve. Medicare is my primary/medicaid secondary. My first visit to my doc was Sept. 16th. I have finished all other required task asked of me besides that I will see my Nutritionist Thursday and i will get my exact surgery date then. Getting REALLY excited!
  15. This is such an inspiration to read. Thank you so much for posting it. You look absolutely beautiful. I as well can't wait to post pics like this! Just so ready!!
  16. I have to see the Nutritionists on the 20th. I would like to be prepared for any question she has. Should I make a list of my daily meal intake. Or what it is that I buy at the grocery store? What will they ask for?
  17. Congrats Julie!! Wow..8 yrs:) You should Post a before and after pic..would love to see your results!
  18. Thank you blerdgirl. I drink ALOT of water daily and I don't think the coffee is a replacement but I will make sure it doesn't become an issue. Nothing will get in between my band and I:)
  19. I take Prevacid as well. 30mg every day. I pray it cures mine too "JustWatchMe".
  20. I have never been much of a coffee drinker. Maybe a cup once a week but only during the winter. I have always been a heavy soda drinker, well I'll be honest, I was a Pepsi addict. I cut myself off of soda completely 2 months ago when I started my weight loss process. I have found myself drinking at least a cup of coffee every morning for the last month. @"Alex" I read where you said acid reflux is worse with Lapband. I was told by my Doctor that my acid reflux would improve with the band but with the sleeve it would be even worse. I am getting banded next month. If coffee is an issue I can stop it too but now I am questioning the band if coffee can make acid reflux worse...what else will? Should I choose the sleeve?
  21. I live in Florida and am a mommy of 2 beautiful kids:)
  22. Hi Jessica, I am getting my band next month. I hope your issue with yours has stopped. Bless your honey. You sure have been through it. Praying everything is well with you now:)
  23. I received a call today from my Doc. My surgery will be the middle of December rather than January!! So happy!!
