  4. I didn't know they sent you there for surgery. We were stationed in England. They wouldn't let me start because we had less them 18 months left there
  5. So I started this journey back in august to get the process started for wls. When I first met with my dr I was 100% set on getting gastric bypass but as I've done more n more research I think the lap band is the best option for me. Has any1 changed their minds? I meet with my dr next week for my last appt to submit my paperwork n I'm confident the lap band is for me.

    Confused?

So I met with my doctor today. He said he would do the lapband but he didn't help much. Saying that it was going away, dr not doing it anymore. I asked if he seen doctors doing fills in next 5 years n he said probably not. I think he just confused me more n hate how he's not completely on board with my decision. Ugh sorry had to vent

    Confused?

My doctor didn't say he won't do it when I went to his seminar. He just said he prefers the gastric bypass. If he was to get it done he would get the bypass. I think that I would succeed with the land band. I've succeeded with diet pills in the past losing 70 lbs but they make my heart rate go up to high. And I've been on blood pressure meds for 5 years. I know that Bp is genetic, every single person in my family has hbp, whether they are small or big. I know even when I loose the weight having hbp is still a possibility My mom is on 2 meds n weighs 130

    Confused?

That's what I've been doing and although some do have more risks then others I can't seem to find where one has more problems then others it seems to all be about equal lol

    Confused?

Yea I was wanting the sleeve but from what my insurance says they aren't planning to cover it anytime soon. I guess they don't have enough research on it for them to cover it

    Confused?

That's another thing I don't want have to get Ivs for iron. I'm already iron deficiency anemic. I'm on iron pills already n I have been for 2 years. I know I'm going to have work at it n I'm willing to do that. They won't give me weight loss pills because I have high blood pressure. I have right at 100 lbs to loose to put me where I need to be

    Confused?

    Confused?

Yea it's just my dr is all for gastric bypass he does the lap band but he thinks gastric is better. In the end it's my decision I'm just worried he will give me crap about it n try to change my mind. I just can't get a over my nervousness everything that goes along with the bypass. It doesn't really matter what you go with because in the end it's all about if you are ready to commit to the life style change that comes with it. I'm ready to do that.

    Question About Family Support

I haven't had the surgery yet. My mom is really supportive she knows I've struggled with my weight for years. My husband on the other hand is complete opposite. I hope he comes around, he hasn't known me long enough to know my struggles of course he has a real high metabolism so he doesn't understand the struggle I just hope he eventually comes around

    Setting Your Goal Weight

When I went to my psch evaluation the doctor there told me your body knows when it needs to stop loosing weight. That your not going to end up being way underweight is what he told me. He had it done 5 years ago

    Missouri? Tricare?

I've been researching it for awhile now. I've look at a few utube videos as well. I'm confident that I'm mentally ready to do this. It's just a waiting game. I'm just ready to be healthy person n have tons of energy for my kids.

    Missouri? Tricare?

Cool! I started the process in August.Doctor said he was going to be submit my paperwork next month for approval. Tricare is saying 3-6 month supervised diet. It was up to doctor on what he wanted to do. I'm just nervous about getting approved. I have a BMI of 45 with hypertension and sleep apnea. I've heard tricare doing 6 months, but i've heard of people getting approved at 3 months. I just hope im the one that gets approved at 3 months,im really excited to get the surgery done.
