    20 grams of Protein

I have not had any issues with gas pain since week 2. I am three months out now. I told my doctor how I blended to make it palatable and he said it sounded delicious, lol I first had a protein shake (or whatever they call it) at Starbucks and it was weird but okay tasting and i, thought, I can improve on that! And I did...best thing I ever "figured out" because I can't stand that powder! Try it on a weekend! That way, if you do get gas, shhh, no, one will know!!!????

    20 grams of Protein

I'm telling you guy (gals ) if you liked McDonald's mocca frappes, try my mixture. Adjust as needed. I use milk and sweetener in my coffee so that's what I use in my mixture. I actually look forward to them. And if you make it thicker, bam! Wendy's frosty!! My very thin friend loves them!! She always has one when she comes over. She's trying to gain weight but doesn't eat properly. I figure it will help her out too. XOXOXO to all of you!!

    Getting closer and having doubts

I've noticed my hormones are WAY out of control around pms. Doc says it's natural with all the sudden changes. Also, liver no longer enlarged...at all. Best decision I ever made to save my life.

    20 grams of Protein

I love my protein shakes. I make "mocca frappes" coffee, chocolate protein powder and ice and blend. I've lost 68lbs in almost 3months, my hair is so very long and thick, unlike presurgery, and my skin is amazingly clear, again, unlike pre-surgery. There's no way I could get my protein in without it. None. I can't eat more than a few tablespoons at a time or I'll puke. Shakes are the only thing besides soup that don't make me ill.

    Getting closer and having doubts

Skc72,I did it the same way. If I had to do the pre-op 6-9 months, I wouldn't have cleared. I've lost 68lbs and my 3 month anniversary is Jan 27th. You'll do great. Just do what you're instructed and take it day by day. It's a lifestyle change you'll be so excited about! I've never felt better, physically, mentally or emotionally. It was so hard, is so hard, but sooooo worth it!!

I thought I was the only one!!! I'm 9 weeks out. Still some pain here n there but after 4 weeks I went back to work! You can do this!!!

16 days post open. Side pain

Laurarogersclark, I don't know how I lost so fast. My surgeon said its almost scandalous. But I haven't lost any in 10days so I'm definitely at a stall. I also was very sick prior. On steroids on and off for a year, pneumonia that turned into laryngitis that had me down for 5 months until my first surgery this year which was a sinus surgery. Then down again for recovery after that. It was a hellatious year for me. My body maybe just went wtf?!? Don't judge your weight loss to others. I was also 336lbs when I had surgery. The bigger you are the faster you lose. Just trust the process and your instincts. Do what your doctor says and you'll do fantastic we all will!! I also can't stomach much solid food right now. I eat mostly chicken soup, yogurt, cottage cheese and fudge pops! Lol oh and frozen yogurt pops...yum. So maybe not eating much solid food...I don't know. And oh yeah, left aide pain where the rny is...still hurts... at times, a lot.

    Compression garments?

I got legging type stuff at Walmart cheap and works great. In only two months or so no sagging even at 60 lbs lost, which is exciting for me

16 days post open. Side pain

I'm two months out. Still have pain sitting on a stool at work. I'm come home in pain every day. I've lost 60lbs in two months so I'll take the pain, but damn. Surgeon says its because I'm armoring and protecting my tummy.
  13. Tomorrow is my 2 month anniversary. I'm down 53lbs at last office visit 1 week ago. Starting at 336 on day of surgery. Currently at 283. I'm over the moon! I'm down from 24-26 to 18-20!!! I wish I had pics buy when I do, I will share ????

    Does everyone do this

I didn't start puking until I started more solid foods. I'm less than two months post op. It seems when I eat too much or more so, too fast, I puke. And, if I'm at work and don't eat, I dry heave. I'm not liking it at all.

    Hiccups?

I get them all the time, but I get them when I awake in the morning... No food yet. Can't be a signal. Surgeon was misjudged but said not to worry. I also has a hiatal hernia repair and always for hiccups so.... Don't know why, but yes....I do

    pre op diet

My surgeon had me do the liquid diet for two days. He said through years of doing this, There wasn't enough difference to warrant any longer (for his patients. . not judging any others!)

    Post op pain

I had my procedure(s) on Minday the 27th. I'm having tremendous post-op pain and my doctor "doesn't believe" in pain meds so he gave me 5-325 norcos. Now mind you, besides the bypass, I had two hernia and an esophogeal repair. I'm not sure what's worse, the pain from incisions or the pain from the gas still trapped. Any ideas in how to get that gas moving? Seeing the surgeon tomorrow but haven't slept in three days.

    Post op pain

And RuthFour, if you gay get anyone yo massage your shoulders it helps too. Big time. My husband did it for me in the hospital. Wouldn't have survived the pain otherwise.

    Post op pain

Yes prune juice absolutely helps. I can pretty much guarantee that. First day I drank four ounces of prune juice mixed with 4 ounces of water and within 12 hours I expelled gas in a song lol. you'll be grateful. The next day I did the same thing and with another 12 hours I had my first bm which was liquid but it has been constant and regular since. My surgeon recommended it as an healthy alternative. And since there is no taste I have since added some fruit juice to it and still do equal amounts of water. I have not had any gas since. But never trust a fart lol!!!!

Omg thought it was just me!! Incision site KILLS! And umbilical repair site. Try prune juice. 6oz mixed with 4oz fruit juice and 4oz water....LIFESAVER!!! Anyone EVER says we took the easy way, I'll punch 'em in the neck!! Lol...j/k I'm all talk...but really! Soooo not the easy way. For me, the only way. We'll get through this stronger and healthier!!!!

    Post op pain

Ruth...omg the shoulder Pain!!! I know, I had my hubby massage myyl shoulder when it got too bad! It helps! Now, the nurse yesterday recommended prune juice to help with gas and/or bm and viola! This morning I played a tune Moazart would be impressed by!! I drank it slowly throughout the afternoon and only 3oz mixed with 3oz of water but I swear that's what helped. Good luck my dear! We're going to do great!!

    Post op pain

Thank you all! I did go and I'm just more sensitive I guess. And since I take the same strength norcos for pain on a weekly (but not daily) basis, I built up some tolerance. I'm doing better...now if I could only Fart!!! Lol

    OCTOBER 2014

He seems surprised (and annoyed) that I'm in pain. He's really quite the ass now that he's been paid, out of pocket I might add. I'm going to see him today with my 6'2 scary looking hubby lol and if he speaks out of turn once... He will be politely and scarily told to watch his tone. I do not respond well to the pain meds he normally used so they gave me morphine in the hospital which helped. He also doesn't believe in sedatives, which after my third anxiety attack in the hospital, he gave in to 1mg ativan. Because of him, I made the recovery team miserable lol! I was balling and moaning til 2am! I'm no slacker and I've done everything I was told to do, and I'm not a wuss when it comes to pain, but this is through the roof. Thanks for listening and thanks for your opinion.
