I had surgery with Dr. Hidalgo in Puerto Vallarta and the cost was a factor in my decision, but the care has been wonderful. Not only did I receive a VIP type treatment and care, my VSG went very smoothly. The hospital, the CMQ Premiere was very clean and modern and had everything that I expected. The nurses spoke some english and the doctors were very caring. Dr. Hidalgo was AWESOME. You wont go wrong if you choose him, and you will save some money as well!

@xSetLikeFlintx yes the hospital is great, modern, very clean and state of the art, they had everything I needed and the nurses were so friendly. Also the doctors on the floor were very nice as well. I was well treated at the CMQ Premiere.

I had surgery with Dr. Juan Francisco Hidalgo at the CMQ Premiere, and he was fantastic!

I was told specifically that Dr. Hidalgo is not affiliated with Dr. Armando Joya in any way. Dr. Armando Joya is very expensive, and when I spoke to the staff with Dr. Hidalgo they assured me there was no affiliation. The website that is linked above is a private medical tourism company that represents two of the main doctors in Puerto Vallarta and it clearly states that they are not affiliated in any way with Dr. Armando Joya. Anyway, I was so pleased with my results and care given to me by Dr. Hidalgo. You cant go wrong with him, he saved my life...

I did my research and there are no JCI accredited hospitals in Puerto Vallarta, only the CMQ Premiere was the only hospital that is applying for a similar type accreditation in Mexico and one of the reasons that I went with Dr. Hidalgo who was very very good. I paid for my food at the hotel as it was not included in the package cost. The hotel is very luxurious. I did not bring protein with me as I was told that I was going to be on clear liquids and could start my protein once I got home. I just used my cell phone to call home, I had no problems. all of the forms I signed were in English and Dr. Hidalgo speaks very good English. I looked into Dr. Castaneda, but he works out of Guadalajara and I did not want a doctor travelling in to do my surgery and then leaving.. I prefer to have a doctor who is in Puerto Vallarta full time like Dr. Hidalgo.

Dr. Hidalgo is so great! His staff answered all of my questions before surgery, and Dr. Hidalgo himself even called me before the surgery to see if I had any questions and to go over my medical history. That was a nice touch. When I arrived a driver met me at the airport and he took me to the Sunset Plaza. Then he picked me up on the day of surgery and took me to the hospital. At the hospital it took about 2 and a half hours for the tests to finish, and I met Dr. Hidalgo in person at the hospital when they were running the tests. He is sooooo friendly. He went over everything again, and then I went in for surgery. The hospital is very clean and modern. It is very very nice, much better than some of the hospitals we have here in Houston, but it is a small hospital, in reality that does not matter as you are having surgery and they took great care of me. After surgery the nurses and Dr. Hidalgo checked in regularly and I was comfortable. The nurses had me walking after surgery pretty quick. Once I was discharged, Dr. Hidalgo came by the hotel in person to check on me, and he removed my drain and staples before I went home... all in all it was a fantastic experience. and much less than the other doctors in Puerto Vallarta. I loved the care that I received and Dr. Hidalgo is a life saver. The hotel is fantastic, the service is top notch and the hotel is better than the pictures provided. The staff at the hotel went above and beyond what they needed to do for me, they ran out of jello in the deli and the concierge had the kitchen make more. The rooms are nice and clean and the beds are great, and the ocean view is fantastic. They also have wifi everywhere. The hotel is a top 5 hotel on tripadvisor, and I use tripadvisor when I travel, and it met all of my expectations.

I know Dr. Hidalgo will remove the gallbladder, he charges $800us more to do so but has no problems removing it for you at the time of surgery. his website is http://www.weightlossteam.com

I went to Mexico and had surgery with Dr. Hidalgo, in Puerto Vallarta and his office includes 2 years of followup with the surgery, they only charged me $4500 for the sleeve and they check in with me regularly after the surgery. If i need something checked out which to date I have not, I can order blood work with my family doctor, and they will review the results..

I needed a passport to go to Puerto Vallarta when I had my surgery with Dr. Hidalgo. He charged me the same price as the border but I had surgery in safe Puerto Vallarta and was able to recover on the beach after surgery! it was pretty nice.

hang in there try to get a little more excersize in if you can and you will get through it!

Just take it slow dont stress yourself out... you will do fine in the long run!

I used Dr. Hidalgo in Puerto Vallarta and I stayed 2 nights in the hospital... I think 2 nights is much better as I was in pain until I was discharged....

I heard it takes up to 6 months to fully be out of the leak risk zone... but the first 6 weeks are the most critical according to my doctor... ultimately the choice is yours but I would think you could make the trip... it may be a long flight and you will want to watch what you eat and what physical activity you have... you probably dont want to get sick and throw up during the trip, but if you are careful, then you should be fine... the doctors office however does tell you what to do for a reason, and usually it is in the best interest of the patient...

Hang in there... you will lose weight and then you will lose size, but 1.5 weeks out from surgery is very too soon to be doing any weighing... hang in there and weigh yourself at the month mark... give yourself time to heal!

Dont forget Dr. Hidalgo is in Puerto Vallarta and only charges $4500 and then you dont have to deal with the border...

Coconut oil and aloe vera worked for me... and they sell coconut oil at costco!

I would not take any jewelry with you for surgery as you have to take it off to have the procedure done, and the border towns are very dangerous and there is a lot of theft reported.... when I was looking for a doctor, I even heard that one recovery house had been robbed in TJ.... that is one of the reasons I went to Puerto Vallarta... that said, the CMQ hospital in Puerto Vallarta, locked my room when I went for surgery, but I still did not take any jewelry. I did leave my purse and phone in the room and it was all there when I got back but why leave a temptation out there.

Thanks I am very happy with the results... I do go to the gym every day for about an hour... and that helps a lot... especially Zumba.
