Protein before surgery
Forty to 70 grams a day is in the general range of the CDC's protein recommendations for adults (46 grams a day for women) that's your base line recommendation. Too much of anything can be bad.

Pain in the middle under my chest
It could be heart burn but chest pain is not something to play around with. Call your physician.

Calories
I stay at 800 or under, but that's just me and my body tolerates it beautifully. You will need to see what your guidelines are and then work to find your sweet spot

Travel after sleeve.
You will be a month post-op you should be fine. I wouldn't do any heavy lifting or anything, you can just supervise as far as nutrition what will your stage be at that point? Purée? You can find things in the airport like hummus, pudding, yogurt ect..I take nursing contracts In Hawaii (Oahu) once you get there they have tons of food you can find something to fit your diet.

Frustrated
So can't you have your paper work transfered over to another surgeon who does operate at a Center for medical excellence and keep the ball rolling?

BariatricPal Topic of the Week: Question for the Parents (and Others)
My middle child (13 yr old daughter) likes to follow in my footsteps. Ever since I had my surgery she has been cooking healthy new meals with me and encourages me when I need it. The only problem I see is that a couple weeks ago she took it upon herself to download the "lose it" app that I use and was tracking her food. Now, the problem with that is she's a perfect size for her age and height. She's 5'6 and 118 lbs. she doesn't need to lose any weight and she sure can't try to eat like I do. She wasn't trying to eat exactly like me but she kept wanting to compare stats and questioned how many carbs she was eating ect... I explained to her she can't have my numbers, it's not healthy for her. I like that she's conscious about her health and wants to remain nice and trim but I don't want to see it take over her life. I was worried for a min but I think she's over it now since she just ate a handful of candy From Russia I ordered for her she's also very active in school playing soccer ect...I don't want her to have weight issues but I don't want her to be in constant fear that she will. It's all learning. My 16 yr old daughter stays with her dad and she is quite a bit overweight, complete opposite she has not desire to put the work in to lose. It's a touchy subject between her father and I but that's a whole Different story...my 5 yr old son is just a sugar-holic lunatic! My husband spoils him with whatever he wants .I'm the strict (mean) one who says no to the sugar. He already knows that when he wants juice I'm going to make it half water half juice so he will sneak to dad.......it's just never ending

Venting About Poor Forum Etiquette
I myself do not mind reading crazy grammar, it's like a challenge of the mind! Maybe it's because of all the time I've spend trying to read DR's orders? In my life reading a DR's order wrong could potentially harm/kill a patient. Reading a thread with difficulty won't. I pick my aggravation accordingly. Life is sort. I would rather decipher between sentences than that dang tiny purple writing some have. I bypass

22 Months Post-Op!
Woohoo! Congratulations!

Soda Pop
@@Aube Besides being nutritionally lacking in every department AKA: Junk. If your asking why it's not advisable after surgery it's because of the carbonation. It can irritate your stomach, filling it with air. There are people who are farther out post-op wise that do still have diet soda and haven't died yet I was never a soda drinker so it was easy for me.
