  1. It is aweful and I was out of Tums the other night so it was hard to get rid of the nasty acid taste. I drank Orange juice in the middle of the night and the acid followed so I know not to do that again. I've found that Sam's has the cheapest anti acid pills. I'm almost 6 months post op and this just started. I'm finally able to eat a decent amount of food, but I'd say no more than 6 ounces at a time. Can't believe I'm still soda free.
  2. I am having acid issues. I'm taking two 20 mg prilosects. One in the morning, one in the evening. I'm still waking up in the middle of the night choking on acid. Has anyone had these issues?
  3. I'm 31 and getting carded again. The only down side with my youthful looks is my new customers don't believe me when I tell them I've been doing this for 16 years. They don't think I'm old enough. I've had people tell me I'm completely different and the only thing different about me is yes the weight is gone, I have more energy, I exercise daily now, I don't eat a lot and I haven't had soda since the surgery.
  4. I've owned my company for a long time now. I've been in the same industry for 16 years. I go to peoples homes everyday and usually I visit with them around 4 to 6 times a year. I own a service company. In the last month I've been going to see customers that I have not seen since my surgery and some of them have been my customers for more than 10 years... they keep walking up to me to shake my hand and then say they were expecting me but they see that I sent someone different etc. Then I speak and they have a double take. These people I have worked for for years do not recognize me because I've lost so much weight. It's a great feeling and it tells me that it was all worth it. At least 10 customers I've seen since my surgery have had the sleeve done or are scheduled to have it done. One lady told me the same thing that I had said as my reason for doing it... health. She wanted to feel good again. She told me I was living proof it could be done. My see my doctor once a week and he can't believe how well I've done. Every week I go down 1 to 5 lbs. Sometimes its just 1 or 2, other times its up to 5 lbs and once it was 9 lbs in a week. Anyone else experience this?
  5. I'm almost 5 months post OP. I have to drink really slow. Otherwise it causes gas and hurts.
  6. I walked 3 miles just 3 days after surgery. Within 7 days I was up to 12 miles a day again Now I'm going to the gym everyday and doing my time on the treadmill. Pace yourself and if you just had surgery, you might want someone to walk with you if it hurts, stop. Don't take on too much. no need in rushing.
  7. I take a multi Vitamin gummy, b12 gummy, hair nails and skin gummys, 3 5000 mcg of Biotin daily and Vitamin C gummies. I usually buy them on Amazon or at Target. My nails have never been so nice. I bleached my hair 1 week ago and its already grown an inch.
  8. Congrats. Mexico is awesome for Surgery and think of all the money your saving.
  9. and yes you can regain the weight. If you join a gym, you'll be amazed at how fast the pounds fall off.
  10. I have a friend who had the bypass and she has regained the weight. I did the sleeve and I've lost 76 lbs as of this morning and I feel amazing. From what I understand, the sleeve is maint. free and the bypass has more to it.
  11. I also look at this in another way... it gives me an excuse to app for other credit cards at stores i couldn't shop at before because they didn't have anything in my size. I have a credit card addiction , but never carry a balance. lol We started going to the gym every single day around the start of January. All I'm doing in 30 minutes on the treadmill and 15 mins on the elliptical and I started eating even more healthy... big drop in weight again. My gut is gone finally. I didn't think it would help or I'd see a difference, but now when people see me that is the first thing they comment about. I hope to start toning in a couple weeks.
  12. Are you taking Biotin? It helps so much. My biggest complaint is my nails have to be trimmed 3 times a week. Your making great progress. Reward yourself. Put some color in. Go all out. I went bleach blonde and pulled it off.
  13. You will learn to be patient and eat slow. In 3 to 4 months you'll be able to eat 6 to 8 ounces at most in one sitting.
  14. tbh I'll have to look at the paper work again as I don't remember the surgeons name. The one thing I hated hearing was... your not big enough, this is for people who need it. It made my blood boil and made me more determined. Sometimes, no matter how hard you try you just can't lose the weight. One day the ignorant insurance companies are going to realize that they will benefit more by having this surgery done vs. letting the person continue to have health problems.
  15. Congrats. Looks amazing. Glad to know I'm not the only one posing in my underwear lol. @ please tell us how your journey is doing.
  16. I've had a fun incredible journey since October when I was sleeved. Today has been a nice, boring lazy Sunday. I cleaned out my closet and got rid of all my clothes that are too big. I found brand new shirts, pants, shorts etc that I had never worn. They were 1 and 2 x and up to a size 38 waist. I ended up having three huge garbage bags full of clothes I can't wear any longer due to size. I never thought the day would come when I couldn't fit into my XLT shirts. Now they look like a blanket on me. So that being said, if your starting the journey, put this on your list. It'll make you realize how much progress you have made. As of this morning I'm down a grand total of 69 lbs from October.
  17. I was denied by my insurance because they don't cover it. I tried to have the surgery done locally and they told me I wasn't heavy enough, gain 30 more lbs then try again (this was me paying cash and they still said no) I went self pay, spent $4k and had it done in Mexico. I scheduled one week and was in Mexico the next. I'm inpatient and didn't want to wait. Arrived Tuesday, Surgery Wednesday, home on Friday, back to work on Monday. I'd do it all again if I had to. If you have 4k on a credit card, go that route and get it over it. There is a link on this forum for a place that does it for $3200.00.
  18. Did you take the medication on an empty stomach
  19. M best friend has told me I look sick and to stop losing weight of I'm going to disappear. I'll chalk it up to he's jealous.
  20. Awesome. Thanks for the info. I'll make sure to get in that Protein.
  21. I'm taking in 100 G of Protein a day. Is that enough?
  22. I'm also taking 20 MG of adderall twice daily so that helps stave off the hunger. I've also been trying to drink more fluids when I get hungry and when I have sweet cravings I've been trying to eat grapes, pineapple or cantaloupe. So far so good Just got back from another workout. Everyone is complaining about being so sore but I'm not.
  23. Come to think of it yes. Then I switched to healthier foods
  24. I got into a bad habit of grazing and thankfully I didn't gain any weight. I just hit a big ole stall. I joined Planet Fitness and have been going for an hour everyday. Prior to going to the gym, I could graze all day long and eat a good bit. (probably why I stalled) After joining the gym, I noticed my appetite went down big time. I also stopped grazing and went to eating 5 meals a day. I usually eat oatmeal for Breakfast, a Protein shake for lunch, then a cheese stick as a snack, then for dinner Ill eat a salad with chicken and broccoli and cheese. Yes, I'm that boring with food. I can't even finish dinner and I'm making small portions. So what I'm finding is I'm not nearly as hungry now and I can only eat maybe 5 ounces total. I can't even graze which is a good thing. The weight is moving again. 7 lbs in the last 10 days. Size 34's fall off me now and I can fit into a 32 but they are tight on me. Is this normal to go from grazing to not hungry and dropping weight again?
  25. Lol. Hey I took lots of pics for everyone haha
