  1. As I got ready for my day this morning I saw an old pair of jeans. I decided what the heck let me give them a try. Last time I tried them they wouldn't go up past my thighs. So there I went slipping my feet in, past my thighs, and buttoning them up with room to go! I went out today feeling so great about myself and then it happened, my first compliment from a coworker, saying I looked great and that I lost weight. I'm 4 weeks post op with no fill yet, but I do feel restriction, and I can honestly say I LOVE MY BAND! I remember my first week after being banded and thinking maybe I made a mistake, watching my family eat in front of me pizza, the confusion of thinking I'm hungry but finally realizing it was head hunger, the battle of making sure not to over eat, and finally I'm here. I know they're will be days where it will be tough and I may slip up, get off track but my band has showed me it does work if I work with it. I started at 247 then went down to 237 pre op and today I'm down to 222. My weight has stayed steady at 222 for a couple weeks and I'm ok with it but the change I have noticed most is how my clothes fits. Needless to say I'm one happy gal over here.
  2. Congratulations! You're truly and inspiration!
  3. My parents, my hubby/kids, and sisters. No one else needs to know in my opinion. I've seen people be successful in the past and offer them congratulations only to talk bad about them when they left. Not nice.
  4. I'm the same way, going on 4 weeks post op w/ first fill 11/09, I get full faster but I am hungry like normal. Making sure to eat my protein first and picking healthy options. I'm eating off a salad plate and another user recommended baby silverware, it helps. Good luck!
  5. Wow there's an app! That's great thank you!
  6. Hello everyone, Hope everyone is doing well. I'm 3 weeks post op and feeling great (minus a cold my son gave me). I'm down 15 lbs with my first fill on 11-09. I was wondering what some of you may do while eating to slow down. I'm putting my fork down but sometimes I catch myself eating fast. Today I was able to wear an old pair of jeans that hasn't fit in over a year and I was so happy!
  7. My doctor didn't lets eat jello till 5 days after. Is it maybe because your throat is sore from the surgery?
  8. He was my doctor too! Great doctor and staff.
  9. Thank you for the apology and no hard feelings. I planned on calling my doctor on Monday but wanted to know if something could tie me over the weekend. I ended up having tomato soup and YUM!! No problems whatsoever. Thanks everyone for the help. It's appreciated.
  10. I'm not asking for "permission" I'm asking for suggestions from people that have been in the same situation. Thank you.
  11. Protein shakes and water are not cutting it. My stomach has been growling since this morning. I'm 5 days post op and doctor has me on 2 week liquid diet....yeah that's going to be a BIG struggle. Do you think it would be ok if I eat small portions of cottage cheese, yogurt, or sugar free puddings?
  12. Hi congrats on you're new beginning! Yes it will get better. I'm 4 days post op and it's barely going away/less frequent. Keep walking and yes but gas x strips those help so much.
  13. So I'm 4 days post op and feeling great. I've been walking which is helping with the gas pains but I still can't drink anything but water. I noticed yesterday my stomach started making this gargling sounds, I'm not hungry so I'm assuming it's gas. My surgeon says he didn't put a fill but my band feels tight. It's weird because when im taking sips and boy do I mean tiny little sips ( I want to gulp the whole cup, so thirsty) a few sips later I notice soft signs everyone talks about like runny nose or burping. Is that normal with only drinking water? Also when I'm walking I get this weird feeling right under my sternum almost like heartburn and it goes up my throat but there's nothing that comes out, no burp no vomit, what in the heck is that and please tell me it goes away. I weighed myself today and I'm down to 225 which is awesome but sure it's only water weight. Anyway hope everyone is having a great day.
  14. Liquid vitamins and crystal light. I stocked up on broth and couldn't drink it, crystal light has been my bff this first week.
  15. Hello everyone! I'm finally banded and I couldn't be happier! It felt like forever waiting for insurance approval but after 4 months of nutritional visits I was approved. I was told my surgery took only 20 mins and everything went perfectly. I was incredibly sore after surgery and just wanted to sleep. Today I still feel sore and I'm not sure how to explain it but it feels like I have something (band) wrapped around my stomach. It's not painful just uncomfortable. Sometimes if I move to quickly I feel queezy so I'm taking it slow. My first fill will be 11/07 so that should be interesting. I'm not hungry but mentally I want a cheeseburger! I can barely take a sip of water lol and want a cheeseburger, just crazy. So initially I started at 247 then got down to 235 on the preop diet, as of today I'm down to 230, which is pretty crazy to me. -5 in 2 days.
  16. Congrats! I'm 2 days post op and feeling sore but ok. Trying to get my protein in but it's a struggle. Mostly a mental game thinking you're hungry but not. Can't wait for week 2.
