  1. Jij , I had the same problem. I could do the EAS carb control chocolate. I think it was because there was almost no suger. I tried a glass of Water downed apple juice and boy that was bad. I added puree last week and started softer stuff this week and it hasnt happened so I think its a mix of healing, adjusting, too much in the sleeve etc.. This stage ofcourse has started to have the opposite effect!!!!

    Puréed phase?

My list of puree/soft foods is similar to some things listed above but included toast, my NUT appointment is tomorrow so I want to ask about that. Any soft, non skinned vegetables that can be mashed up, fruit in juice already (preferably sugar free), sugar free pudding, greek yogurt, tuna, chicken salad, egg (egg salad), continue Protein shakes, refried Beans etc. Thanksgivings looking like mashed sweet potatoes for me! The PA at the surgeon said please please dont try turkey even with gravy it is really dry and with my hernia repair as well she can almost promise me it would be a bad idea unless I want to blend it. Which I can not handle the texture of food pureed (not even creamy soups) needless to say the past two weeks with just Clear liquids have been straight broth and water/crystal light.

5 days out.... Is this normal?

I was sleeved the same day as you. I am not drinking as much but I was just saying I have yet to feel full or hungry. Hopefully in a week at my NUT appointment I will go to at least puree so I can try yogurt, pudding etc and get a better sense of what is full, when I am restricted etc. Good to know Forsythia that you have more of sense of your sleeve when you are eating a bit more "solid" so to speak foods.
  4. Told absolutely no-one, I had a hernia and gallbladder and bile exploration as well (day one, im writting from my hospital bed), because you have to change eating with that too that won't look odd Feel like this is on me, my decision,my failure to loose and my success to win, not anyone elses, I had a baby 7 months ago so ppl are expecting some weight loss as well Good luck, you will be fine and dont feel like you are living a lie or anything. Your decisions are for your reasons, honor that

    Openness and Family

Have told no-one, part of my surgery is work on a bile duct condition I have that results in about the same amount of time on liquids, then healthy (no extra fat, fried etc purees) and that I have had done before. I have already started working out and dieting so the continuation in addition to eating FAR less should be fine. I will say though more than the fears of failure, naseau, pain is someone figuring it out after I said it was bile duct surgery and diet and exercise. I mean it is all of those things and then one other thing in addition but you know what I mean.
  13. Scheduled for November 10th, was originally scheduled for October 8th but Dr had a conference to go to and doesnt like to do surgery if he is not around after for calls etc. I guess thats a good thing! I have bcbs-fep so only need three month prep instead of 6, no required weight loss but have lost a few pounds, just focusing on keep those few off and not eating everything insite over the next month. Changing my way of thinking that this is not yet another diet has been the hardest for me so far. I have to have some other gastro procedures done at the same time as a result of some gallbladder issues so no-ones knows about the sleeve part just the gastro surgery which also has liquids, soft foods two weeks out after etc. My personal choice, I know others share what they are comfortable with and that is what I am comfortable with for now, might change after the fact. Happy sleeving everyone
