  1. I also had BCBS. I am pretty sure they won't cover it if it is excluded. I went ahead and did self-pay. I had to get a 401k loan. It was well worth it. I am not losing as fast as I thought I would, but it is my fault, not the bands.
  2. Hi Mini, Unfortunately ice cream is one of the things that goes down way to easy. My doctor's main concern with eating mushie foods weeks 2 thru 6, was to make sure your stomach healed completely. Try not to beat yourself up over it, but you might try to stick to the soft mushie foods. I had to do clear liquids for a week, the full liquids for a week, so by the time I got to mushies foods it was like a feast. Hang in there.
  3. Pam, My strips starting falling off about the 5th day. I still have 2 on. The one over the port, and one other. Congrats on feeling so well. I feel pretty good, and i am really trying to get in the 2 mile walk. My dog really appreciates the band because she is getting to go on more walks.:frown:
  4. Youniquegrl, I wasn't nervous, just excited. It really goes so fast. I remember the DR. saying he was giving me something to go to sleep, and the next thing I know they were waking me up in the recovery room. Try not to worry, You've been blessed with a baby girl, and now you will have the chance to really enjoy her. My thoughts and prayers will be with you tomorrow.
  5. I am having sf jello, popsicles, and broth. Also I am drinking decaf iced tea,and water. I have to admit I am hungry. Hopefully that is a sign of healing. I can't wait until Tues. when I can have full liquids. I will probably be awake a 5:00 a.m. just to drink a protein drink. Good luck to all
  6. Mistahbue, you are so right about food commercials. I have had to change the channel dozens of times. I am on the clear liquid diet, until 1/28, then get full liquids until I see the doctor on 2/6. I can't believe I would ever get excited about getting skim milk or protein drinks. I have to admit, it is getting a little tough, but I went back and read a couple of success stories on the lap-band web, it re-enforced that I did the right thing. The soreness is going away, and I am going to try to walk more tomorrow. I walked a little the last couple of days, but I think the gas would have gone away faster if I had walked 30 min. a day like the Dr. wanted me to. Good luck to everyone getting banded this week.
  7. Hi Everyone, The elephant sitting on my chest(gas), finally started going away this morning. I had a little trouble with nausea, because of the anesthesia. I feel much better today . Hunger hasn't really been a problem. Best wishes to everyone banded this week
  8. Mistabue, I didn't have to worry about getting up at 4:00, I have been up most of the night. Good Luck today. Julie, Thanks for the good wishes, I will keep you posted. I am in the Houston area too.
