  1. PS I will be shopping for stir straws today!!
  2. Thanks jspitznogle! That's a great idea. I'm now using a toddlers sippee cup. Lol...It seems to be my friend although I can't imagine the looks I'll be getting if I use it in public...Oh yeah I don't care what random people think. I decided not to care when I chose to go through with this procedure!!
  3. Thanks 3Pugaliers for mentioning the spray. I've had a couple of back surgeries and I cant stand that terrible cotton mouth afterwards. My surgery date is Oct.17 and I want at least one of everything that anyone has suggested to help with this issue. A nurse friend of mine has recommended some kind of pre moistened swabs that are packaged individually. She says she will get me some before the big day. I will pass the name on to others as soon as I have them in hand. Also the back scratcher has been added to my list since pain meds have an itchy efffect on me as well. Congratulations on your first week out and best wishes for smooth sailing.
  4. October 17, 2014 Counting the days. I'm a gulper so this sipping thing is driving me crazy but I realize that this is the first of many changes I'll be making!!!!
  5. Dana825 you are so encouraging . I too will have hiatal hernia repair during surgery. Its awesome that you have posted so soon. I am a newbie but I am scheduled for surgery Oct.17th in Piedras Negras with Dr. Alvarez. I have read every post made here and I have learned so much. Thanks to you all for sharing. I wish the best for all of you, those that are getting sleeved in the near future especially tomorrow and all of you that are sleeved and on your way to goal weight. I'm excited to hear your stories. I am equally excited to share my experience with everyone here!!
  6. Darwinlady33 I have no idea about the veggie part of the question. I'm learning myself. I do however understand the fact that others do not understand our choice to undergo this procedure. There are many reasons why they feel that way. From my experience the ones closest to us have that response out of fear. Even they don't say it those feelings usually stems from some kind of fear. Fear for us because we are undergoing a surgical procedure, fear for losing the connection that you and your partner have made as a couple and sometimes just the fear the unknown. You know not knowing what the future holds after this experience. As a joke my husband ask me the other night if I expected him to live like I would be living after the surgery and of course I replied, " no but I do want your support by hugging me on the days that are hard and hugging me on the days that are easy". We then realized that we need to approach this endeavor and or difficult time just like we do all of the others in our marriage. Trust each other and love each other through it. Remind your partner that you are doing this for yourself. Your goal is to be the best form of you and to be healthy. Getting to that point with his support can only mean that the two of you together will be better as a couple. Just my opinion. Best Wishes On your Journey!!
  7. Good Luck!! May the time pass quickly and the pre scheduling diet reward you with your desired outcome.
