  1. My NUT suggests making your fluids also your protein. So add protein powder/drinks to most everything you drink, and eat. 8oz of protein shake is also equal to 8oz of fluids.
  2. My good friend has PCOS, she has easily lost over 120 after being sleeved.
  3. Good luck! Thank goodness my pre-op is low carb:high protein. All liquids would be too much for me to deal with.
  4. I just had my pre-op NUT appointment. She went over my pre-op diet, and my step-by-step post-op diet. I start my pre-op diet tomorrow. I also made all of my appointments through August.
  5. What the heck?! So basically, the fat, CMA came in to draw blood, for preop WLS, and told you how she is better than all of us having WLS, because she can lose weight, and keep it off, therefore setting a good example for her daughter? The words I want to say are not nice ones. I would probably tell the doc about it. She has no business working there. Zero sensitivity.
  6. Best wishes for an uneventful, pain free recovery! Keep us updated.
  7. Hi Jenn! I am also Jen, and I am also having my surgery on the 18th! I start my pre-op diet on Wednesday. I am so excited!
  8. I am ready to offer mine up. He is clueless and self-centered, but not in the normal way. I don't even know how to explain it, but I am so angry with him right now, I can't speak, I have nothing nice to say to him.
  9. You can freeze crystal light flavored, or other flavored water, crush it up, and chew it! It satisfies the need to chew, and helps get fluids in. Go Hawks!!
  10. I had a great psych too. I can tell you she gave me an example of someone shoe would not clear, a rule breaker, someone who comes in and lets it be known that the guidelines are not going to work for them. The example she gave, was a man who would do the opposite of what he was told. He actually told her, that he needs to be told the wrong thing to do, so he can do the opposite. He was denied.
  11. Most bariatric centers will be able to tell you if your insurance will cover any of the cost, and what the requirements are. Talk to people i your area, get recommendations for surgeons. Make a consult appointment, talk to a surgeon. Gather all the information you can. Watch you tube videos, knowledge is power, it helps prepare you! My fave vlogger is vsg kirk. Good luck!!
  12. I absolutely am, but would like to wait until after my sleeve surgery, which is Feb 18. I am totally wanting to meet fellow sleevers, for support, and friendship!!
  13. You have to eat. There is such a thing as addiction transferrence, you go from being addicted to food, to being addicted to something else. Please go see a therapist, so you can find a happy medium.

  19. I see I posted here a few times, redundant posts! LOL I have scoured so many posts, I forgot where I posted. I use the mobile app, and I think it's flawed. Oh well, I would love to get together, or just chat with local sleevers
