It's "Forbidden" for me, now... The russians must have been unable to afford all the zillions of hits they got from us playing on their site...... they locked us out. :[

October Chat
Hi Y'all! I have company in from Portland, Oregon. My good friend Cathy is here, so I won't be around much til Monday. Eileenie!! They have some "clear" protein drinks at GNC. Go there, get some, or you will be having some SEVERE problems... Malnutrition is a bad thing. I called yesterday and started to "buck the system"... I convinced Dr. Fox's scheduling chick to let me start the consultation/Pre-op thing prior to actually hearing from Blue Cross. I actually have my first consultation with the doc scheduled for BEFORE the insurance company has to give me an answer. I am thinking positive and just realizing that I may have "wasted some co-pay" if I have to fight on my appeal. The 2nd appointment is for the day after the deadline for the insurance company to respond. I can cancel that one if need be. I am basically assuming that Blue Cross will NOT be stupid enough to deny me a second time... Talk about OPTIMISM!! Anyway, I have to run... Cathy is outside having a smoke, and she and Rusty are comparing Punk Rock music favorites... I guess it's only a little odd that my best friend and my husband have more in common with each other than with me... I mean, I love them both, right?? I hope everybody is having a GREAT weekend. I know I will. :]

Yep. Buy a different Protein shake. Atkins and Carb solutions are pretty palatable (25 grams of Protein) for the low carb. I use one called Ultramet (Carb balanced) that is pretty good, too - and it has 42 grams of protein per serving. If you have lots of the yucky stuff, Splenda, Cinnamon and chocolate extract are good for masking the flavor of a bad shake. Good luck!!

needing help in Dallas!!!!!!!!!
Hey Renee! I am in Allen. (The North 40). Not banded, yet - so maybe we can be Band Buddies... I am going to try for Nov. 18th or 19th if I can get my *&^$ insurance company to approve me. :]

Ahhhhh Pat. Nothing feels better than BEING DONE with your dental appointment. Hope your stiches heal up quick!! Ira, all I can say is, try a different company... But you may get the same response from all of them. For an insurer, CHANGE IS BAD - no matter that the change is good for you. It's a crazy world we live in... Eileenie - I think this is the one time when you ARE allowed to drink high-calorie liquids - cause you can't get enough in to do more than keep you from starvation... Thank you, Cindy. I will keep on writing the story. It will be interesting to see where it leads... Maybe someday, we can meet up at a book signing... :] Well, folks, another day in the salt mines... passing ever so slowly. Must be time to hang some cobwebs, or write another chapter... :]

Genetic obesity
So, I am shaped just like my mom. For all of my life, I remember her being large - and I know at her highest she weighed about what I do now... I also recall my Great Aunt & my Grandmother (paternal) having a little wide-load action going on. Both sides of my tree have tendencies toward obesity. HOWEVER - I also know that my Mom was hungry during the depression and she never got over it. We always had a pantry & a freezer FULL of food. Our family dined out - and dined well. Full adult-portion prime rib dinners at 10 or 11 yrs old stand out in my mind. My Grandma was a "Starving Children in China" person. To this day, I have to consciously force myself NOT to clean my plate. So, we just have two things working in concert: A highly efficient food processing machine with a tendency toward excess energy storage and generational habits - learned practically in the cradle - that lean toward over consumption of fuel. It's all connected....

Getting Two Teeth Pulled
OK Pat, I am the biggest Wuss when it comes to the dentist. Valium will not interfere with the nitrous - just be sure to mention that you have taken it so they don't overdo. Teeth pulling isn't so bad. You won't even feel it when they are doing it - although you will hear some strange noises and your jaw will feel a bit like a bull dozer passed through your mouth afterwards. That goes away pretty quickly, and if you are VERY lucky, your doc will give you a script for some tylenol with codeine. I don't think antibiotics are required. Tell your dentist about your band. Tell your band doc about everything. You never know when something will be important. ((hugs)). I feel your fear. You will survive.

Howdy, All. I have had some actual work to do at my office, so I haven't been able to hang out as much as normal. Work is good... It keeps me from going insane. (ok, it keeps me from sliding any further into my constant state of insanity.) How are you doing, Eileen. Are you going to survive the whole surgery experience? Or are we talking "major trauma" here? Lay down and stay down until you feel better. MORE DRUGS - and the occassional walk to work out some of that pesky gas... That pesky Flo. Always dropping by unanounced and ruining your plans... Did I say MORE DRUGS? How is everybody else doing? Cindy - just let me know what you think of my "masterpiece". Give it to me straight. I can take it. I have a day job. :] Betty - great pictures, you sexy thang! How are you doing? Ira - Slow down, Hon. You are going to be DONE before I ever get my band!! (lol) Great job! Lisa, how is that antiquated gadget you call a computer? Are you with us? How's it going? Hope everybody is doing great. I'm off to home, finally. It's been so long since I had any work, that I have forgotten how to move in an efficient manner... Hasta!

Percoset, MMMMMMMMMM NICE percoset, NIIIIIIIIICE. Sleepy, Sleepy, Eileen. So glad that all is well and you are tucked into your home with the appropriate narcotics. YOU CAN DO THIS!!! We will be here to hold your hand. ((HUGS)) Dang, Cindy - that chapter must have been lost in space. I have sent it to your work and I will try sending it to your home, too. :]

challenge for myself
When what you are doing doesn't work, Try something new. That is the answer. As always, you are on the front of the learning curve. Go, Crystal, Go!! We are each individual - and what works for one is not going to work for all. You do what works for you. You are, after all, the Turtle Spokes-Model. Normal rules do not apply. :]

This is why I'm dying for a soda
Seriously - post the sign. That way, it will be more obvious to your co-workers what Erin has been doing. Peer pressure may work where basic courtesy has failed. ((hugs)) (or a boot in the butt - whatever you are in the mood for) :]
