Welcome, Kristine! I think my Doctor thought I was blowing him off because I just kept nodding my head... I already knew about the risks, erosion, slippage and like that. I told him I had been researching and he seemed a little more at ease. ok - I have to ask - The Hitt Girl? Please explain. :]

Mexico Erosions VS. U.S. Erosions
OK Guys, Just an observation. Aren't MOST of our members banded in Mexico? I mean the folks that post actively? That would make it SEEM like most erosions were from Mexico docs when really, it isn't so. It's that most of our members were banded in MX so most of the posts on erosions are from folks banded in MX. I think we need to take a look at that before everybody gets stressed out. You know stress is bad for the band... Hugs everybody. Deep Cleansing Breaths...

December's Chat
Hey Y'all! Just back from my first dip into the shopping pool. Not too bad today during business hours. Thank goodness everyone else is at work. I am hoping to finish up tomorrow so I can start shipping things around. I have made my Secret Santa gift and now I just have to ship it out. Cindy - HUGS! I hope those kids can hold onto that loving spirit until the break. How was DD about the chimes? Did she kick your butt? Oh - and you shouldn't encourage me to butt in... I can hardly stop myself sometimes as it is. Y'all feel free to tell me to keep my nose out of things if I get to pushy. :] Patty! What a great family you have. You will have to get a good picture of the shy boy for us soon. Maybe a birthday shot? it sounds like you are getting closer and closer to the goal. Good Luck!! What a Lucky Boy that Lewis is that everything is Golden for his Birthday. Ira - I guess you can share my SuperModel Dream Goal - but I guess we'll call it the Super Stud Goal for you. I guess we're just going to have to keep you alive for the year... Then we can hook you up with SOME insurance company... Hi Lisa! I'm glad to be home. Zan - we'll be looking forward to hearing all about your trip - and maybe some more details about your Nascar Holiday Moment. :] Betty - Thanks! I had a little more control over the photo shoot for this Avatar. How can you stand all that Baking? I would be eating Cookies non-stop!! I guess the band helps with that, huh? Hey Miss Dianne! Another Texan here. Good to hear from you! Stop by any time. Eileenie - you will have to experiment with that soup. Maybe you can make up your own recipe and freeze it?? I would think that you could bake some squash and puree it and mix it with milk or cream or something? Check the ingredients on the ever so expensive soup that you have. I hope everyone is doing great on this fabulous December Day. xo

Moved Out
Aw, Doll - Sorry it didn't work out - but it is more harm than good to stay if you and the soon-to-be-ex are bickering. Better to get yourself and your son out of that kind of atmosphere right now. Hugs and best wishes for a less stressful holiday season!

Johnny - the specific doc names are medical citations from the letter. They are publicly available to anyone. No legal ramifications. No one has complained about any particular doctor, nor has anyone attacked anyone. No problem.

First post-op appointment
Go Paul, Go!! You are an inspiration. Speaking as someone that needs to lose about 50 lbs to qualify for insurance coverage - how did you do it? Was it full liquids? Low carb? Please advise. I have to get my BMI below 50 in order to qualify for Blue Cross coverage.

The Psych eval...
I'm not sure what you mean, Salow. My Psych gave me a test and talked to me for a bit and then made his report. His conclusion was that I am a model band patient. Is this what you mean? They test to be sure that you are mentally able to be successful and that you aren't going to crack up if you find out you can never eat white bread or rice again. (I am betting that was a close call for me....) Good Luck! Hopefully you will hear back soon.

Motivation and type of excercise
I have a bad knee, too. If it's REALLY bad, the only thing for it is to do Water exercise. If it is only moderately bad (like mine) then work on whatever machine feels best for the bulk of your time - but start working your way up on the other machines. I find the treadmill to be the best combination of Lowest pain and lowest heartrate. I have to fight to keep my heart rate in the correct zone since I am so out of shape. The eliptical machine is best for low pain - your feet never leave the pedals so there is no impact - and the mild pedaling motion works the muscles to either side of the knee cap - however - it is such an incredible workout that I can only stay on it for 10-20 minutes at the slowest posible speed before my little heart starts beating pretty fast. The recumbant bike is best for low heart rate because you don't have to move your entire bulk - but the more vigorous pedaling motion is harder on the knees. I use all three machines at my gym. I stay on the eliptical until my heartrate shoots up. After that I switch to the recumant bike to get my heartrate down until the pain in my knees is too much and then I hop on the treadmill to plod out the remainder of my 45 minutes. Slow is a requirement on all three machines.... If you are gasping like a fish out of water then you are probably in danger of your heart exploding. Take Care & Good Luck!

Sometimes I think SISTERs are over-rated!
I haven't spoken to or communicated with my younger Sister since I moved to Texas over three years ago... It always breaks my heart to be around her as she is a delusional one.... She seems normal until she starts talking about things that are owed to her and how everything was handed to me on a silver platter. She never takes responsibility for her own actions and she expects things to just land in her lap. She is honestly confused when they don't. She has never held a job for longer than 6 mos at a time because five minutes after she gets there, she is either stealing stamps (they really owe her those for the five minutes she worked off the clock) or telling the boss how they can improve a business that has been successfully operating for years before she arrived. I don't know how two women two years apart in age, raised in the same town by the same parents can be soooooo different. When I was preparing to leave the State of Oregon, I called to say goodbye - and she couldn't even spend five minutes on the phone without putting me on hold and yelling at her kids... it was sad. I sent her a couple of e-mails when I got to TX - but her addresses were messed up because she never pays her accounts - even the free account address didn't work because her box was full. I guess I just didn't try too hard after that - and she moved (gosh, she had trouble making the mortgage payments and had to sell. shocking.) Sisters really are overrated sometimes.
