Return to work / recovery Time
Yes, Cathy, u need to wait until u see your doctor. Also can you drink at your desk as you work? If so, great so you dont get dehydrated. But give yourself time to heal sweetie. U just had major surgery! You will have days where you will be weak and tired. Once you feel you have had more better days and feel things are a little back to normal (whatever normal is for u) then return back to work. Good luck sweetie

Endoscopy
This is to make sure you are getting the right surgery. If you have swallowing issues then u can't get the sleeve and you will have to have the bypass. You loss stomach acid that's needed to break down food. If you already suffer from heart burn and/acid reflux the doctors get worried because with the sleeve you will possibly have more of these issues. Which causes more health problems in the long run.

Did anyone use an abdominal binder post op?
Using the binder will also help contour your stomach as u lose weight jst like a girdle
-
Did you use sick time or short term disability?
U should be able to use both short term disability and your sick time. This way you will not lose any income during your time off. There shouldn't be and rule that says u can't use both. I have done this several times for other medical reasons. In California and Georgia. So im sure you can too. Good luck

I'm day 3 post op and IM STARVING!
Hello ladies. Believe when i tell u those who are farther in their post op surgery understand how u are feeling. It does get easier. Food will smell delicious and temptation will still be there but stay focus on why u decided to have the surgery in the first place. Try sugar free mints and hard candy but remember not to chew...lol You will continue to do just fine. Good luck!!

I'm day 3 post op and IM STARVING!
Hello everyone. Im 6weeks post op. This is a big change for u! Try the clear protein shakes as well as sucking on sugar free mints. The calories in the shake will help with the low energy as the protein will fuel your hunger. The mints also help curve the cravings. Stay focused and strong. You can do this. U will love the results you will soon see????. This helped me. I'm 44lbs down. Started 239 and now 195.....good luck

Am I healthy enough for surgery?
Hi Kaylap. I suffer from many different medical issues. I have diabetes, asthma, legally blind, high blood pressure, sickle cell anemia, alpha thalassemia, and end stage kidney disease. I had my surgery 6 weeks ago so i can be placed on the kidney transplant list. I followed everything the drs asked of me. But most of all i prayed! I had no pain after surgery. It was successful. I'm still on a pureed diet and there is food that i no longer care for.....lol but u have to stay positive before, during, and after the surgery. I'm sure u will be okay, sweetie! Be blessed!
