  1. Chellede, thank you for all the great work you've done on this forum. It is so greatly appreciated! Hope everyone is doing great. Day 3 of pre-op. Since mine is a 1200 calorie plan, I've been using The My Fitness Pal app. A great tool I plan on using post -op. Highly recommend. I have to admit, I am very, very nervous...i have had major surgeries before and have never been so nervous. just got to remember I'm saving my own life and giving me my life back... Anybody care to share any first goals? Mine is to be able to fit into a seat at the Verizon Center in DC. What's a first on your List?

  8. Thank you Queen of crop, I needed that post this morning. Although I am getting support from friends and family, your blog and posts have been the support that they can't offer. Thank you for the gift to us, the time you take to post and the encouragement you share means so much. Okay, enough mush, hope everyone has a lovely weekend.
  9. Lol! It must be pre-op distractions! Don't worry about typos, just feel good. I had a Bariatric Advantage iced Latte flavor with low fat milk it was very good. This the one where you just add the liquid to the bottle...isn't it strange how our pre-op diets are so different. Three meals or a shake, one snack or a shake. No starches. 1200 calories. I saw in the Oct forum you're getting a house full of guests Kathy812 tomorrow, enjoy and hang in there.

  11. Just had my final Nut appt before surgery and wanted to share a couple of her recommendations for protein powder...she really likes Bariatric Advantage for its quality and she also likes Nectar available at the vitamin shoppe and the syntrax website. For ready to drink she suggests pure protein, premier protein, EAS advantEDGE carb control or Fitpro daily. Hope this helps.

  19. Does anyone know anything about shots to prevent clots after Surgery? Many people have mentioned them so I was wondering if this was standard after care for us? Also wanted to share a tip that's been helping me out a little... If the smell of the protein shake is a bit off putting....try using a shaker bottle and flip the lid open away from you and let it air out a bit. I also heard that the nectar kind wasn't as pungent, although I haven't tried it yet. Hope this helps I was having a problem with the smell. I tried the unjury strawberry sorbet mixed with lemonade and the taste was fine. Hope this helps.
  20. I have gotten samples from celebrate and also from bariatric advantage.
  21. Queenofcrop please, please stay. All I can do is repeat what the others have said.... You are such an inspiration to us!
  22. They do wire you, but to a lesser extent. The focus, for me at least was the mask. I had done some research and went in knowing which mask I wanted to try.
