  1. I rarely burp now. If I do it is a tiny little burp. All of my gas comes out the other end. LOL
  2. I went home the same day and I am so glad. I felt great after surgery and just wanted out of there. Once I was home I hit the couch, took pain meds and slept. I don't like having people wait on me. I like to do it all myself. I stayed at my mom's house and I was fine. You should do a lot of walking after surgery so getting up to get meds and something to drink kept me on my feet.
  3. I drink on the weekends but I can no longer drink beer. I've swiched to wine and I get a buzz much faster. I quit smoking before surgery but I started back about 2 weeks after. I will quit soon but now I am adjusting to my new eating habits.
  4. Hi Ovahkummer! It sounds like you are doing great. Yes, it will get better after fills. I could anything including pizza before my first fill. I've had 2 fills now and I really have to chew or I am in pain. I am loving my band. The weight loss is slow but it keeps coming off and that is all that matters. It was good to hear from you. Jill
  5. I am a single woman but I am not dating at the moment. If I were dating I would not tell someone until I got to know him a little better. I'm not ashamed of my band but I don't want to discuss my weight or weight loss efforts on my dates.
  6. 1. No, I was regular before and I am still regular. 2. No, and that is a good thing because I am single and I don't have a boyfried. For those of you that want to increase your sex drive do crunches. The stronger your ab muscles are the stronger your sex drive and you will enjoy it more!
  7. I know you are frustrated but remember that it takes a few fills to get to the proper restriction. Until that time it will be harder to lose weight. It seems like your eating is under control though. It could just be your body adjusting the great weight loss you've had so far. Keep it up and you will lose weight. You are doing great!!! Jill
  8. Marilyn, I am so sorry you had to go through that. My first fill was 3.5 cc's and my second brought me to a total of 4 cc's. I have not PB'd yet. I hope you heal quickly. Jill
  9. I am great after the band. I love it. I am losing weight slow but steady. Fighting head hunger can be difficult but not as bad as before the band.
  10. Congrats Firebolt! 4 cc's has been pretty good for me too. However, I am fighting head hunger bad today. My restriction isn't as good as it was after the fill and I think I need another one next week.
  11. I promise it wasn't bad. It was just like adding a powdered creamer to my coffee. I hate coffee so I have to add something to drink it.
  12. I love the chocolate Unjury but I don't care for the unflavored. It slightly changes the taste. I haven't tried it in Starbucks yet. Whatever you put it in has to be less than 130 degrees or it changes the textures of the protein. That is still pretty hot though because I put the chocolate in my hot chocolate sometimes. I just remembered that I did put the chocolate in my coffee this week and it was really good. I stirred the coffee for a few minutes to cool it some before I added the powder.
  13. There is a possibility that you meet your doctor's qualifications for surgery but not the insurance companies. That was my situation so I was self-pay. Good luck!
  14. NO WAY! It doesn't matter how big you are. Trainers are great! I loved it when I had a trainer. I will getting one next month when I get my bonus.
  15. My BMI was 39 and I was self-pay. There were no hidden costs for me. The doctor said $12,900 and that is what I paid. That covers surgery only though, no pre-surgery testing. Be sure to ask you doctor if that covers everything. By the way, it was totally worth it. Good luck!
  16. You can carry some protein powder with you on the plane and order milk. There are plenty of band friendly items you can carry in your purse to eat on the plane.
  17. Hi everyone! I live and Sugar Land and was banded 11/20 by Dr. Spivak. I love my band. I've had absolutely no problems and I've lost 15 pounds since surgery and 5 on pre-op diet.
  18. Get some hand weights and do some uppper body work at home while you watch TV. You can also lie on the floor and so stretches and leg excercises. Clean house or organize your closet or junk drawer. Play with your dogs (my favorite). Now if I could only practice what I preach. LOL
  19. Hi! Another single bandster here! I am 39 and I live in Sugar Land, TX (suburb of Houston). I am one of those that will not date until I lose some weight. I am not comfortable in my own skin and until I get past that I am just wasting my time. I am so glad that I found this thread.
  20. I had surgery on Tuesday before Thanksgiving and went back to work on Monday.
  21. I get the munchies during PMS too. Popcorn works well for me. The good thing for me is that I get good restriction during TOM to get me back on track if the munchies get the best of me during PMS.
  22. Protein drinks or you can buy those little cans of tuna and eat before class.
  23. I had no co-morbidities before surgery but I knew that if I kept gaining (and I know I would have) it wouldn't be long until I had high blood pressure or diabetes. Insurance did not cover the band so I am self pay and it is definitely worth it. After 2 months I feel so much better as I have more energy and my knees don't hurt. I will enjoy life now and not watch it pass me by. The surgery will be much safer now than if you gain more weight and then the journey will just be that much longer. Good luck with your decision.
  24. I am definitely tighter during that TOM. TOM hit the day after my 2nd fill and I had great restriction. Now that TOM is gone restriction is just okay. I now know that I will need another fill soon.
