  1. One thing I'm worried about is that I haven't practiced small bites, small sips, or eating slowly, at all. I'm a major gulper. I have been known to down a whole bottle of water at once. I eat fast, and I'm an over eater. Well maybe over eater isn't fair, I think my stomach has always been larger, my whole life. I have been drinking shakes for like a year and I always down them. Just want to drink it and be done. Ive just always been that way. Anyway, since I haven't practiced, I'm probably in for a rude awakening. Just being honest here.
  2. Jan 15th. Oh yes I started on Jan 1st, then at my appointment on the 5th he said one week would be fine. Well I went out to eat that day and the next night. So basically I started over wednesday. I had til Thursday but I just wanted to get back on track. Anyway, if i had just stayed on it instead of eating out those two days, even though I was allowed to, I would probably have not had it so hard this time. Saturday night i though I was gonna lose my mind with head hunger and that's not like me. Anyway, evenings are the hardest for me. So I've only got three more to go.
  3. Oh gosh I was doing good until my dr decided one week was enough when I had been doing it early anyway, then when he said that I went and ate because I really had 3 days before I really had to start according to him, bad mistake, if I would have just stayed on it I wouldn't have had a hard time the last few days.
  4. Yep, one last trip to the store yesterday after church. I picked up iron pills that I didn't know I needed til last week. A food scale, popcicles, a couple protein shots and protein gels to keep in my bag, a strainer for soup, I can't remember what else. I have been prepared for months then my surgery got schedule out about 4 months and it just knocked the air out of me. Anyway those were the lady couple things I hadn't picked up. I would like to have a pill crusher but it wasn't on my list so naturally I didn't remember it in my own ha. It's going to be a little hard to focus at work this week I think. As long as I can control this late evening head hunger for the more nights I should be good!
  5. Hey @@mommyoftwogirls! So excited to have buddies! I'm not nervous...at the moment anyway. I can't believe it's finally so close seems like I've waited an eternity. 10 months is pretty close to eternity in wls world anyway ha.
  6. Ok I've said it before that I'm not picky but I have tried ask the Swanson, Tuscan, Cajun, seafood, none of them can I stand. Don't know why, this pre op had got me all weird. Usually if I'm starving I can eat just about anything but not these!
  7. Sounds like the 3 week steal I've read so much about.
  8. I'm not offended by it. I have referred to myself as that. I just think it means that you could die from your weight and the complications that come along with it. Not defensive at all, to me any way.
  9. I have the same mixed emotions. Will be thinking of you and praying for you tomorrow!
  10. I feel the same way. I have to wait for a call from the hospital the day before surgery, sometime between 2 & 4 pm. I live about that same time distance too. Guess that's how they do things. And I'm just hoping I'm early!
  11. Carol, from what I hear, it should get better soon!
  12. Yes we are! I quit caffeine months ago because I'm prone to headaches anyway. Oh just look for it here on pre-op. It says January 15th anyone? There are people on and around that date so we r kinda keeping in touch. I can't believe it's almost here.
  13. Please let us know how you do post op! I will be going in the next day! Best wishes!
  14. so sorry to hear that. Sometimes things happen for a reason. Best wishes!
  15. Yep! We've got a Jan 15th thread you may want to join us! seems like there are just a handful of us but that's great! We can keep in touch, I plan on writing as I go and as soon as I can post op. Having the toughest time tonight on pre op, worst night yet since Jan 1st, I finally broke down and ate sf jello, which I think is worthless normally but it seemed to help. You doing ok?
  16. me too I haven't dressed like myself in over a decade.
  17. I got dial lavender, the scent didn't matter to Dr or hospital at my pre op. I have to use a solution they have me as well for three days before surgery.
  18. I had my time being nervous a few weeks ago. Wrote a "just in case" letter to my family. I don't know why I wrote it but it made me feel better. I'm not nervous much now, just can't wait. Still watching the calendar like a little kid. I haven't had many questions for my surgeon either because I've done so much research. I only had the more technical questions for him. He was surprised by my questions and could tell I had a firm grasp on the situation. I'm doing good, liquid diet, a lot of hunger off and on since I'm still cooking for my family. I'm only a little nervous about catching a cold or flu. I would flip if I had to cancel. But I'm so excited.
  19. That's great! I'm so glad we're on the same date!
  20. I just started sleeping in my stomach again after like 15 years, when I was pregnant. But I do still sleep on my side too and I'm going to get a body pillow as soon add I get a chance. I think it will help alot.
