  1. I'm cash pay and so mine are free for the first year and $150 each after that.
  2. I'm on Day 3. I hate the sweet ready to drink Protein shakes and have been mostly drinking broth and eating popsicles. I have cheated with a couple boiled eggs, a cheese stick and a medifast sloppy joe. I've lost 3 lbs and have 2 more days til surgery.
  3. I have been gradually losing my sweet tooth over the years and find myself totally repulsed by pretty much all the Protein drinks I've tried. I am on the pre-op liquid diet and have been eating a lot of broth based Soups because I just can't stomach the shakes. I've also 'cheated' with some non-liquid Medifast meals like sloppy joe (110 cal/11 g protein/1.5 fat) and hard boiled eggs to get protein. I'm worried about not getting enough protein post-op. Any ideas for savory liquid high-protein foods?
  4. Actually, I changed it this morning to the next day October 8 because my husband could not clear his schedule for the 7th. Still, less than a week away and I'm very excited. Hoping to find some October lap band buddies
  5. I got my date for banding surgery today which is next week Tuesday, October 7. The standard pre-op diet my surgeon uses for every lap band patient is 7 days of 3-4 Protein shakes plus unlimited calorie-free liquids. Haven't I seen some others on these boards who are allowed to eat food in the pre-op week? Don't get me wrong, I am going to follow his instructions to a T and gladly. But I was just wondering, what do you think the reason for the all liquid diet is. Is it to get you in the routine of your post op diet? Did anyone else have to do Protein Shakes only preop?
  6. I am scheduled for 10/7. Looking for a lap band buddy.
  7. Loggerswife: I got my date. It's 10/7. Are you still going to be banded early October?
  8. It's next week October 7!! I am so nervous, excited, but mostly ready to start this new healthier chapter in my life. liquid pre-op diet starts tomorrow. Yippee!
  9. Well, you are beautiful in both the before and after pictures. Congratulations on the weight loss. I pray that I am as successful as you over the next year. Keep up the great work.
  10. You look amazing. I love the pixie cut. I'd love to see a before pic for inspiration. I'm hoping to be banded in October and would love to have the success you have had. Congrats!
  11. What about October? Hope to be banded by the end of that month.
  12. Thanks all. I think what I am panicking about is the fact that I know my days of using food as a comfort are coming to an end. Eating food typically makes me happy, and more food = more happy, right? It makes me really nervous to think that after the surgery, I won't be able to comfort myself in that way. What are some of the ways you have quelled your anxiety post surgery, since food is no longer an option?
  13. I'm in the process of getting all my clearances this week (psych, primary) so that I can schedule lap-band surgery. I'm self pay so I've been told it'll only be a matter of weeks until I can have the surgery. I guess I'm sort of panicking, as I've found myself binge-eating lately. I'm not usually much of a binge eater so this has me worried. Is this normal?
  14. I am not banded yet but have a similar background. Treated for ER+ breast cancer 5 years ago. Been on tamoxifen ever since. Have gained over 80 lbs since treatment. Been thinking of surgery for a few years but thought it was out of reach without insurance. Finally decided to self-pay and am on track to schedule surgery in a few weeks.
