  1. Oh yeah! Measurements! I have to admit...I'm pretty impressed. I lost: 4 inches right below my boobs/where my liver is. 2 inches from my waist. 3 inches from my hips. 1 inch from each arm 1/2 inch from each thigh I most definitely shrank my liver!
  2. So I finally made it through the pre-op diet and am clear liquids today and tomorrow. I'm not gonna lie. The clear liquids suck. I'm cold and hungry. I took my laxative last night and boy did it work! I'll be going into surgery with a clean colon. I'm so ready to fly out tomorrow!! SW: 260.8 CW: 247 Lost 4 pounds last week! Yay!! Total 13.8 pounds lost on the pre-op diet. Now I just need to lose 87 pounds to be at my goal weight. :-)
  3. 2 days until surgery! I started the clear liquids diet today.
  4. 4 days!!! I'm so flipping nervous.
  5. It gets easier. I had to do a 4 week pre-op and my surgery is this Monday. After you say no a few times and just enjoy the activities without food you realize life doesn't revolve around food, it revolves around people and events.
  6. I use 55% Protein, 30% carb, 15% fat. However, I find myself going over fat and way under carbs most days. This is straight from my post-op instructions: The primary source of nutrition needs to be protein. 55% of all calories consumed should be lean, protein- based (eggs, cheese, yogurt, Beans, fish, meat, protein supplement powder, etc.) Carbohydrates (whole grain cereals, whole grain Pasta, brown rice, etc.) should make up only 30%. Fats (olive or canola oils, flaxseed oil) should only be 10-15% of the calories that you eat. hair loss, cracked nails and defective healing and immunity are just some of the side effects of inadequate protein consumption; not to mention difficulty losing weight. Plus protein makes us feel more satisfied for a longer period.
  7. I sent you a request.
  8. There are two Facebook groups for November sleevers. One is closed and one is secret. If you would like to be added to the secret group let me know.
  9. I live in Florida but I'm having my surgery in Mexico. I've already asked about not using narcotics and they said it wouldn't be a problem. Also, the surgeon prefers we walk to alleviate pain. I'm all for natural remedies!
  10. I asked my NUT this and she specifically said NO fruit and NO peanut butter. :-( I got over it though.
  11. Me too! Anesthesia and pain killers. I swore I'd never have surgery again but this is important.
  12. Yes...I took them in my bra and underwear in my guest room. I took one from the front with arms outstretched, one from the back (the worst!) and one from each side. I also took measurements. I plan on repeating these poses each month until I hit my goal.
  13. Phentermine is some crazy medicine. Yes, it took away my appetite and gave me tons of energy. In fact, I lost 73 pounds! But it also changed my personality (for the worse), made my heart race and my blood pressure was very very high...like 180/110. My doctor told me I would have a heart attack if I continued taking it. That scared me enough to stop cold turkey. It took me over a year after getting off of it to get my blood pressure back to normal. Two years later I gained back the majority of the weight I lost. The fact that I can't take appetite suppressants is the main reason I'm having WLS.
  14. YES. This is me. One minute I'm like, "I've got this! I'm strong and determined." Then the next I'm crying and freaking out thinking about how upset my family would be if something bad happened. I can't wait until this is all a distant memory.
  15. I watched the video performed by my surgeon on YouTube and I felt better after I watched it! It seems so simple as long as there isn't a hernia repair. Pretty straightforward. There wasn't much blood and I saw he put stitches over the stapled area and that made me feel better too.
  16. Yes. I'm trying not to think too much about it! I'm Nov 3rd as well.
  17. My FB name is Kristen Paz.
  18. That's what I thought and that's why I'm all for a private, secret group! I already saw the other group and decided against joining. I'm actually not a huge fan of social networking despite being in my 20's. I find it invasive and creepy at times.
  19. What is your FB name? I'll send you a friend request.
  20. Can my FB friends see if I belong to that group? If so I don't want to join. I just don't want my surgery broadcasted.
