  1. I am 12 days post-op and it looks like I'm in a stall. How long do they last?
  2. I started a stall at 10 days post-op. Isn't this too early? I'm a low BMI and I'm scared I won't lose weight!
  3. My BMI was 32 day of surgery. I've lost 10 lb post op and am now at 29, who hoo!
  4. I had a wonderful surgeon in Mexico. Google Dr. Guillermo Alvarez REVIEWS. HE IS FANTASTIC. I WAS SLEEVED ON 10/25. He only does 2 - 3 surgeries a day and only does gastric sleeves. He has done 6600 of them. I wouldn't have gone anywhere else. The care was better than any I've gotten in the U.S. Four surgeons checked on me daily. Feel free to send me a msg.
  5. I can't wait till this phase is done. Even the thought of full liquids doesn't thrill me. I can't wait until solid foods! How did you get through this?
  6. Yes, surgery was on 10/25. Doing fine. I use these boards for my moral support!
  7. Did any of you lose that little? Did you go on to lose well or did you stay a slow loser? I'm worried!
  8. How do you get in enough protein from regular meals? My surgeon doesn't want us to have protein drinks beginning with this stage. What do you eat?
  9. I was also very scared and nervous. My BMI is low. I kept trying to talk myself into Oh I should be able to do this myself. I realized it would never happen. If you have reached your surgeon thoroughly and he has many many sleeves under his belt, you should be fine. I was sleeved yesterday. Very little pain, no gas, no nausea. I've been walking the hospital halls and sucking on ice chips. I am SOO happy that I've finally taken this step. Good luck!
  10. I was sleeved yesterday! BMI of 31. I want to lose 55 lb. weight at time of surgery 184. Can't wait to see the results!
  11. My BMI is 32. Getting sleeved today! I'm so excited. Im worried that the weight loss will be slow.
  12. I am 5'5 and weigh 183. I too am worried about slow weight loss but these posts gave me hope! I can't wait to get this weight off! I am going to be sleeved on 10/25. Nervous but excited!
  13. How did your surgery and recovery go. I'm going to Dr. Alvarez on 10/25. So nervous!
  14. I am scheduled for 10/25, I'm scared but excited at the same time! I'm going alone. I haven't told anyone!
  15. Try Dr. Guillermo Alvarez in Piedras Niegras, Mexico. He is a Surgeon of Excellence. He is very highly rated and did his niece's surgery. I believe she was 13. Www.endobariatrics.com
  16. Wow! Who was your surgeon? Did he warn you about this?
  17. I take Abilify and am being sleeved at the end of the month. My metabolism has virtually shut down with this medication. Does anyone out there take Abilify? How has your weight loss been?
  18. Has anyone had a sleeve who takes Abilify? My metabolism has virtually stopped since taking Abilify. I am going to be sleeved on 10/24 and can't wait. Please write and tell me of your weight loss experience since being sleeved while on Abilify.
  19. Hello, I have my appointment to be sleeved by Dr. Alvarez on 10/25. Do you have any pointers? I'm scared to death but I do believe Dr. Alvarez is an amazing surgeon. I'm hoping you all will post any tips you might have!
  20. I've just about made up my mind to have the sleeve surgery in Mexico. Does anyone know of insurance you can buy that will cover complications?
  21. Have a low BMI. I went for a consult today. The doctor won't do a sleeve. Will only do a lap band. I really want the sleeve. I heard about Dr. Guillermo Alvarez in Mexico an read his reviews - all 700 of them. They were incredible reviews. The US doctor says going to Mexico would be suicide and that a doctor who did a sleeve on me would be tantamount to malpractice. What do you think?
