  1. I am also waiting for approval! Good Luck to you both!
  2. I called my insurance company today and they have not received a submittal yet. So then I called my doctor's office and they said they are working on it. I asked why they didn't submit it last week and she said that they got to busy, Really? I am not a patience person,
  3. Oh no! I hope you hear soon that would be very frustrating. I have Federal BCBS and I have heard that they are fast with reviews and approvals.
  4. I cant believe it that today was my final weigh in and insurance has been submitted. I can't believe it is so close! It is a little overwhelming ! Hopefully I find out soon
  5. I have my last weigh is on Thursday and then we submit for insurance approval. I think I have a stress fracture in my foot so that might throw off my exercise.
  6. I follow Lauren Losing. She is funny, honest and tells it how it is.
  7. What shake are you drinking? I am currently doing 2 shakes a day to lose my pre-op weight and I found that it really depends if I am hungry afterwards on the shake. I love premier Protein shakes they fill me up.
  8. I just spoke with my surgeon and he told me to just keep doing what I am doing and that he is not worried at all. He told me that he is proud of the changes I have made and knows that it will pay off. It makes me feel a little better.
  9. Thanks for your reply! My insurance is the same as yours however my surgeon requires a 10% weight loss to have the surgery done. He feels that you need to show the commitment before surgery. I just emailed his office to see if they have any suggestions on what I should do.
  10. Today I had my second supervised appointment with my doctor and per their scale I have lost 4 pounds in a month. However on my scale at home I am down 9.5 pounds. I am frustrated at this since my surgeon reviews the weight sent in from my doctor. I don't weigh my self naked so I know it is not clothes weight. I have been doing high Protein low carb, I track everything and exercising everyday. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.... I have to lose 28 pounds before surgery and I am feeling very discouraged. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks for listening!
  11. I am planning for November. Fingers-Crossed!!! I won't know for sure until we submit for approval next month.
  12. I have really thin hair already and I am very worried about hair loss with the surgery. I have a job where I meet with clients on a daily basis and my hair being thinner scares me. Anyone else have thin hair and dealt with hair loss? How bad did it get? Thanks!
  13. Thank you everyone! I am overwhelmed on this process but having this website and the support is amazing! I have called my surgeon and asked if he had a recommendation for a new doctor that is more open to surgery and he provided a few names. For my husband he usually isn't such a butt so I am going to give him a break but I told him at lunch that those comments are not welcomed and his attitude needed to change. Thanks again everyone for your words of advice and support.
  14. LOL! I really wanted to! Thanks you made me smile.
  15. When I first started this process my hubby was super supportive and very encouraging but the last few days that has changed. Yesterday I had my first meeting with the surgeon and we were discussing what he had said and I asked him how he felt about all this and he told me that since I am too lazy to do it the healthy way then I guess this is what I need to do. What the heck kind of comment is that? Then to top it off I had my first supervised diet appointment with my primary care doctor this morning and he told me that he thinks it will help me lose the weight however he worries that I will not be able to maintain it 2 years down the line and started pushing weight loss pills on me. I have tried him all and it doesn't help. How are you suppose to believe in yourself when no one else will? I feel like I just got kicked when I am already down. Has anyone had this happen and how did you move forward? Thank you for listening.
  16. Thanks. Yes it was discovered by blood work and an upper gi scope.
  17. My doctor recently told me I have a gluten sensitivity and I was wondering if anyone had this when going through this process and how you handled the diet afterwards? Thanks!
  18. Hi Everyone! My name is Lisa and I have started the process for the 2nd time on getting the sleeve. Last year I went through the process to get approved and a few weeks prior to surgery I backed out. I was scared and I didn't feel like I was ready for such a drastic change in my life. Since then I have been working with a therapist on this. I am 29, married for 5 years and have no kids. I am hopping that making this decision will better my health and allow us to have a family in the future. My husband is very supportive and we have a great relationship but I still worry that it may hurt our relationship. We discussed this and he told me that we have been through some tough things over the last few years and if we can get through those then we can get through this. Any advice on going through this process? Thanks!
