  1. I have the 10cc AP band, and have 5cc's now, and feel restriction all day except at night.
  2. Ask the pharmacist in the local drugstore about the Benedryl if you can't get your Doctor. Benedryl has always worked for me in these situations.
  3. I am not sure it means a fill is needed because if we are all tight in the morning and open in the evening, how would a fill help. It might over restrict us in the AM. I also drink hot tea in the morning, and by 11:00am get to nibble on half a South Beach High Protein bar. I use chewable kids Vitamins and take two. Now, I am snacking on a very well sectioned and peeled grapefruit, its not protein, but I couldn't finish the Protein Bar earlier, so trying this softer food.
  4. Can they recommoend another VA hospital or civilian hospital in NJ for you to go to? At this point you need the surgery, and if you have to travel and stay in a hotel somewhere else in the state, that might be your best option. Good luck and hang in there, something good will come about.
  5. So is this common? I am super tight in the morning and for most of the day, so my intake of food is small, really small. I am feeling fine, no hunger and not experiencing any PB'ing or Sliming. But by the evening, 7PM or so, I have no restriction feeling at all and eat significantly more and am hungry. Still nowhere near what I used to eat, but still enough that is topping my calories at 1200-1300, fat around 35g, Protein 85g. And I am taking in around 700-800 of those calories etc at night. I had my second fill last week, and now have 5cc's in a 10cc band.
  6. I am feeling it too, had 1cc put in on Friday for a total of 5cc's in the 10cc band.
  7. I guess every doc is different because I can have NSAIDS, in fact, been on 750mg of Ibuprofen since Friday, and even took them 2 days after surgery on the advice of my surgeon.
  8. you can always visit his and Dr. Ren, and Dr. Kurian's website for info on what they do there. There are support groups too and they don't ask who banded you. NYU Thin For Life is the website address.
  9. I would have to vote for both Isopure and Designer Whey at GNC. What is cool is that if you don't like it and you keep the receipt, they take it back. They are having a sale now too.
  10. I have finally felt real restriction at my second fill, stopping me from eating too much. But you don't have to mourn food, that is the good thing about the band, you can eat regular food in moderation. Even a piece of chocolate now and then. In fact, had a small piece of ice cream cake from Carvel today and felt the restriction after about 5 bites. Am I upset? Absolutely not. I had some ice cream, and felt satisfied, instead of sitting there watching others enjoy it and wishing for it. I got my small taste of it and the craving is over.
  11. My second fill was on Friday, 2/15 and all of a sudden I feel restriction all the time. I am not Pb'ing, or Sliming, but get that full feeling after eating a small amount of food. Which is exactly what the band is supposed to do.
  12. Ok received it today, it says Adjust. Gastric Band, W/Abdominal Port, No blind NG. The medical symbol on the front isn't red either, so it looks like a regular bracelet.
  13. 5cc's in a 10cc band. Taking the pain meds again because I fell through the stairs into my basement. The story is in the Lap Band lounge. Anyway, all weekend the pills go down no problem. This morning, only took the Ibuprofen, and bam, it got stuck. Warm tea not doing it. Went out on a Quest for pineapple juice,( I heard that helps) in Manhattan, hit 6 stores, couldn't find any, and finally bought mixed fruit and threw it in the blender. Don't know if that helped but the feeling isn't as painful anymore. Its still there, and I have a bad headache, but not as powerful.
  14. Yep me too. I am going on vacation next week, and spent yesterday trying on clothes, and most of them are too big. I get to shop when I am away!!!!
  15. Chrisann replied to sfeiner's topic in The Lounge
A guy in my office goes to a gym on Long Island that the brothers use, and hasn't seen either one of them in Spin Class in two months. Maybe they used some of the $$ to put a gym in their homes.
  16. Thanks everyone. It came across as a joke to the people that know I had the surgery, others just looked at me like "well you are fat". I didn't let it bother me. When the guys came to fix the steps yesterday, they took one look, and were like, "are you sure you didn't break anything?" They were big men themselves and wound up replacing 4 of the 8 steps and jumped up and down on them to prove they were sturdy. So down I go to do the laundry, and for the first time ever, Rocky doesn't follow me, he just stands up there crying. I guess he saw me fall and now is petrified.
  17. Aside from getting mine on the day of surgery 3 days too soon, it was back on the normal track since then. But then again, I was always regular. I would definately talk to the doctor about it. Getting it so frequently can reek havoc on your daily life.
  18. Well then thats great, I am a moderator on another site, (sports related) and I know how hard it is to keep up a site free of charge. So the ads are working here.
  19. When I am in certain forums, I can't navigate back to the main forum page if I am visiting a thread. I have to click on HOME to get back to the main board. On this forum, if you scroll up back to the top and go higher than the thread title, you see LapBandTalk.com - Lap Band Forum > Lap-Band Talk Community Center > LBT Forum Suggestions, Feedback & Questions But on many other forums, you don't get this anymore.
  20. I would be interested, but I am only banded less than 2 months.
  21. Well considering that most of us already had the surgery planned when we started here, how many people does the band ads actually reach at this point?
  22. I am using my weight that I weighed the first day I started my 2 week pre-opt liquid phase, which is the day I became VERY serious about losing weight for the first time in my life. I was higher than that start weight a year ago.
  23. I had the hietal hernia too, but never knew I had one. Never experienced reflux or heartburn. In fact the recovery from the repair of it hurt more than when I had it.
  24. I took one week, but then had unforseen complications, like a reaction to the anethesia, dry heaved; and a latex allergy. Had no indication BEFORE surgery that my recovery would be so hard. I had always healed fast from any other kind of malady. In the end, I should have taken two weeks. Everyone is different, but even if you know your body, this is major surgery and sometimes when you think you can do it, your body doesn't let you.
  25. I have problems in the mornings sometimes, so have a slim fast. After getting a fill I have to be on liquids for two days, so I go back to the protein shakes too.
