  1. But Ang, look you are under 300 pounds!!!!
  2. Going on vacation and my warmer weather clothes are too big, so had to go out and buy stuff in a smaller size.
  3. Jack thanks for the words of encouragement, and how it took you to figure out saiety. I am in that stage now, I have not eaten to PB or Slime status, but feel that as I write down what I eat, I am eating too much. I do stop before the "feel full" feeling, but wanting to eat 2 hours later is what is scaring me. I thought that by checking my portions, and sticking to them, I wouldn't feel the hunger. What I am trying to figure out now is the stomach hunger vs. head hunger. The friend I had dinner with on Saturday, is 6'6" 350. He says he can diet whenever he wants to. He is proud that I did the band and that I am losing weight, but he calls it cheating. I blow that off, because I know that with the eating modifications I am doing I will lose the weight. He has no health problems at this point in his life and he quit smoking on Friday.
  4. I was just going to post the same thing:cursing: This was a weekend of running around. So, Saturday, had a slimfast, and in the afternoon a South Beach diet Protein Bar. In the evening, we all went to Checkers. I had a basic Checker burger, didn't eat the bun, and small fries and ate all of them! Ok granted, in the past I would have had the Big Buford and a large fries, but still, couldn't help myself. I am used to not having a drink with meals so I didn't drink anything. One of my friends ate this: Chili cheese Fries, 2 Chili Cheeseburgers, 2 chicken sandwiches and a diet soda. I just sat there stunned. IN the past I probably wouldv'e been right there with him. Now Sunday, started with cottage cheese. Then in the afternoon, pea Soup, with 3 cheese and cracker sandwiches. 2oz cheese, and 6 crackers. For dinner, 5oz london broil cut small, 1/2 cup mixed vegetables. At 10pm, had the urge for a bagel, so made 1/2 one in the toaster, but then wanted the other half and ate that too. I showed absolutely no restriction the last two nights. That is so weird. I was so disappointed with myself last night. I woke up this morning and was hungry. So I ignored it. Now at work, I got some hot tea and the hunger is gone. So what I think I am battling is the head hunger too. Geez, all these new "rules" to get used to, and when all of them gang up on you at once, its really hard.
  5. Mix it with Carnation Instant Breakfast, just add 3 extra ice cubes and put in the blender. I also mix it in with frozen smoothie mix to get my protein in a different way. Just always add an extra ice cube everytime. I don't think that the whey protein powder goes well with hot things.
  6. There is also Chobani, and both that and Fage are sold in Shoprite here in NYC, its so good that you won't ever want to eat regular yogurt again. 0% fat tastes so good that you keep looking at the label because its so rich you feel guilty eating it. I get it with the fruit in it already. Costs about $1.59 for an 8oz cup, but is worth it.
  7. Got mine from ebay, $40 total for Sterling Silver and engraving. It says Adjustable Gastric Band w/Abdominal Port, No Blind NG. I got that sentence from the previous thread you mentioned. The medical symbol isn't bright red either so it pretty much looks like a regular bracelet.
  8. I am a Benefits Administrator, and with the companies I deal with, it has nothing to do with the taxes, some plans cover the kids to age 26 as long as they are full time students, and even cover the kids of the kid when they are still on their parents plan. I would check with the insurance company for the correct wording. Your dad should start with the BA at work who can contact a direct rep at the Insurance company without you guys having to go through Customer Service.
  9. I feel that way about my surgeon's staff sometimes too. You really can't email them, and it takes a day or so to get a call back. But when you are physically in the office, they are great.
  10. I have to dress professionally for work, so I have no clothes in sizes 20 or lower, because as the styles changed, there was no point in keeping the work clothes. I have jeans also in the smallest size in the house at 20. I give it away if I don't wear it in two years.
  11. I am eating a really thin, crispy pizza square, with almost no cheese and thinly sliced eggplant round on it. Its Lent, and a Friday and I have been eating fish all week anyway, so slowly eating this.
  12. What is even cooler is that she already paid for those smaller clothes,so she doesn't have to factor that in to her expenses for this year like so many of us have to.
  13. I caught a bad cold ten days after surgery, I attributed it to coming back to work too soon, because that is where I picked up the bug. I was still on liquids at the time, so had lots of soup and tea. I am not sure if that slowed anything down, but it took alot of effort to even want to get those things down anyway. Hang in there and relax.
  14. Not a problem at all, and my band is tight.:tt2:
  15. Who cares? Its a smaller size. That is all that counts. That is an NSV!!!
  16. Yep, doing the Spring Training Spin. Tampa-Yankees, Phillies, Devil Rays, St. Lucie-Mets, Orlando area-Braves, and Astros.
  17. I got a rash too, bad, and itchy, it happened about 5 days after surgery. My primary care doctor gave me a foam cream to use, Olux I think, and it worked. Said I probably got a latex allergy too. I use latex bandaids on other parts of my body, but I tested and put a latex bandaid on my abdomen after the rash cleared and gave myself a rash again. So I guess I am only sensitive on my abdomen.
  18. Actually doing Florida Spring Training spin, and one night in Freeport. Taking a 10 day vacation. I do it every year the first week of March. Leave on a Friday and return on a Sunday, so I am only missing 5 1/2 days of work. Flying in to Tampa, spending 3 days. Driving to Port St. Lucie and there for 2 days, one day to Freeport, then drive to Orlando, and leave from there. I don't remember posting the Bahamas in the first place, but maybe I did. Who remembers.......
  19. Two fills since my surgery, 5cc's in the 10cc band, and I am feeling serious restriction in the morning, but less at night. Happy with it right now, not PB'ing, Sliming either.
  20. I love it, its great for chopping and blending in smaller quantities. I got one for Christmas, because I was getting the band, and now I use it for all sorts of things. You can get them on sale around $50.
  21. My doctor knows I am going on vacation, she wanted me in two weeks before I left for the fill so that if any problems developed I would still be home. She said she doesn't like giving fills too close to vacations because if something happens and you aren't nearby, there might be no one who knows what they are doing.
  22. I was not given any medical restrictions so I take regular excedrin for the headaches. In fact, had a serious fall less than a week ago and was given 750mg Ibuprofen to take daily. I have severe bruising on my thigh, still swollen, and pain, as the injury is on a muscle.
  23. With the 5cc's I am super tight in the morning and much less restrictive at night. I panicked and called the doc's office. I was called back today, and was told this is normal. So, I am feeling more comfortable knowing that. Its my time of the month now, and that seems to affect the band too. Its been tight all day. That was uncomfortable, but food does go down, just small amounts and chewed very well. I think its the combination of restriction, bloating, and cramps.
  24. I bought one from ebay after reading this thread. I travel quite a bit so it makes more sense to me to have it on. I just have Adjustable Gastric Band, Abdominal Port, No Blind NG. Didn't put anything else. Mine is Sterling Silver and there is no red medical symbol on it. Its all silver so looks like the bracelets I wear. Its still a good thing to have, as it was already said, if you travel alot its better than nothing at all.
  25. I had two fills and have 5cc's in the 10cc AP band, and I am restricted most of the day, except at night.
