Please tell me your joking... Your last grand meal needs to be before you start your pre-op diet.... maybe that is what you mean... I just read this and I want to interviene and say NO!! The reason your on a low carb or liquid diet is so that your liver decreases in size.. it make the surgery safer... since they need to place the port on the top of stomach which is under your liver..... One cheat leads to another.... and you will taste all your fav. food again... just in smaller portions... dont give in the head games.... that's all it is... Start NOW on how you look at food. Tell your self I know how it taste & I'll taste it again!!! where did it get me... Thats what I tell myself!!! SORRY FOR THE TOUGH LOVE!! I

Hello everyone.. I had my surgery on 11/1/07 I was sore after wards... but nothing that Lortab elixir did not cure. Day two: really sore on L side of abd & L chest & shoulder discomfort. Abd swollen all things to be expected... but moderatly sore. I walk for an hour outside.... while purching gas-x.. walking & gas-x really helped w/ L chest & shoulder discomfort. Had to take pain med every 4 hrs. Tolerated liquids well... only got in 6 cup all day... I'm suppost to shoot for 8 cups a day Day three: a LOT less bloated today... tolerated liquids well, this morning I sipped 1 cup brot & 1/2 special K Protein Water... over 45mins. I didn't feel "full" but when I stood up 15min later I had some sharp pains .. gas?? just felt like i could not get comfortable.... so I took gas x and pain meds... and 1 our later .... felt bette. Walked around out side for 2 hours today.... didnt feel bad... finished 1/2 protien water and another cup of broth... my stomach and bowels are activley gurgling.... but feeling good.... have not had to take any more pain meds today... Not sure if I should be concerned w/ the fact I dont feel "full"?? maybe cuz its liquids?? In my head I want to feel that full feeling.... that is the reason I did get the procedure... I know I'm rushing it.. its only day three.... but its like I want to test it... I'm crazy... or maybe it the pain meds.. ha ha!! Today is my surgery.... I have to be there at 115pm... I so did not want a afternoon surgery... the last time I ate any broth was at 7pm... on top of nerves and emotional eating habits.... My stomach is turning... I just got back from grocery store... where I bought everything I hope I needed.. Sippy cup, baby spoon and forks... I looking forward toward day 5 where I can have cream soup... (low calorie of course) I will keep you all up to date on my progress !!! & share what i'm going through... Good Luck to all the upcoming bander's!!!! Gosh I cant believe its here in 2 hours

My ride that was picking me up just bailed... that sucks... all my friends are going on a girls trip to Portland OR.. that I choose to back out of so next trip for me will be just that more amazing.... First of all congrats on the surgery today.... I'm glad to read your feeling so good. I wanted to know did the AP band cost $$ out of your pocket? Did you have to request the smaller band?? I was just wondering. I heard the low profile port is a cost that insurance does not cover. Is the low profile port the same as the AP port? My pre op appt is 10/29 surgery is on the 1st november...

Hello, I'm a seasoned nurse w/ 14yrs of ER/ Trauma under my belt. Greatest thing about nursing is that you can work in many fields and travel... I traveled 12 yrs of my career. I just stopped and settled in Chicago this Jan. Currently I work in employee health. In my search to call a place home and maybe finally meet Mr. Right lead me to Lap-Band. I'm starting today day 3 of the liquid diet..UGHHH surgery scheduled 11/1/07. I believe the weekends are going to be the hardest.. thats where i have the most down time... always have focused on food to fullfill that time. It doesnt help tHat the one friend I have here wants to go to the bar and watch some sports!!! But I know I can do this ... I have too.
