  1. freestyling~ *taps, i did make mini loafs - the zuc are on the "small" side, but have completely flowered. oh and i didn't mention garlic in the recps - but i don't cook w/out:) *kc, glad the lecture went great. i was in sales for 15yrs - so public speaking is what i did.....every now and then i'd get a case of the butterflies, depending on who my audience was. DH begs me on some days to go back, because he's tired of being my audience (talk to much) :wink2: *burping, there are many days where i don't feel very ladylike - can / do burp like a man. *snt, that was a long biscut post.. *g4e, have you tried like OTC meds: benedryl/melatonin? exercise - maybe walking helps some as well.. my only sleep issues, is i can easily do 10hrs a night:rolleyes: *car shopping - hate it, it's also against the law to buy a car on sundays in TX. all lots are closed, some may let you on to "look" but no transactions can take place. weird law still on the books. **for the last 3yrs, i've been growing & planting wild flowers around our pond....finally they are coming through. been taking a bunch of pics: ~have a great sunday!
  2. it's in the squash family slim: Zucchini - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia it's a very versatile veggie - growing up (like you KC) we had a big garden & my mom always had extra rows of zucchini. one of my favorite meals mom made for me growing up was sauting (SP?) the zucchini w/tomatos & onions - add a can of cannelli beans & serve over pasta w/parmesan. i didn't have any because dh ate it all, but i sliced 2 lg ones up, put on a cookie sheet w/olive oil, s&p, and shredded parmesan & baked...came out like chips...like i said - didn't have any.:cursing:
  3. good luck & have fun tonight.!. so i made 6 zucchini loafs last night - froze one & the rest is going to a friends cocktail party tonight as gifts. yesterday for lunch i grilled some, and topped it off w/goat cheese - it was so tasty. i also shaved thin slices threw lots of lemon & zest (let the citrus "cook") it down, red onion, olive oil, salt & peper & more goat cheese to be a side dish tonight.....took a bite this am, and was really flavorful. LOVE the pickle idea taps, i only grew zuc / pepers, aside from wildflowers & herbs....think i'll be eating zuc for a LONG time:) now if i can get these 2 goats of mine to make their own cheese:)
  4. yesterday - mostly leftovers b- spinach casserole - 1 square s- few pretzles w/salmon dip l- grilled zucchini w/goat cheese d - small bowl shiritaki noodles w/meat sauce
  5. ebony - i have a lot of stuff going through my head, but it all depends on how you wish to proceed **i'm baking while DH's flight is delayed - so got time on my hands** :cursing: *can you change your union rep to one who is equipped to deal w/your issue specifically? *if you don't have a copy of your union contract, get it - find all specifics as it pertains to involuntary dismisal. if they forget to dot an "I" ... or anything else, you can start the groundwork for wrongful termination (again, find out if your state is right to work). *sign NOTHING & don't be pressured to do so w/out letting "employer" know you would like your representation review first. signing is acknowledging - and until your side can be heard.......all they would have is paper. *GRIN (blank) them 24/7 - OMG i'm such and expert there, NEVER let them see you sweat *managing one out of a dept is done daily. had to do it myself - BUT, a compensation pckg is ususally part of the deal. i don't like/your not working out/lets work something out that mutually benefits...... i can keep going - but you get the drift, i've never been part of a union so don't know their role in this situation - other than you need an expert to deal w/your problem. i was a contract employee forever - that contract had to be fulfilled if my metrics were met - can't play w/someones money. i typed a book and have bread in the oven......i'll be back:)
  6. agreed - greek yogurt is always in my fridge. for me, if i don't have some fat & good carbs w/my meal....i'm hungry after 2hrs. for example today i had grilled zucchini w/goat cheese - NO idea if/when i'll be hungry for diner, as this was extremely satisfying. going fat free or low carb didn't work for myself & my activity level.
  7. ya know - i felt the same way too early on, but since i didnt' share this surgery w/anyone other than my husband (who is also banded) .. i needed this site to assist w/the daily living w/the band - something my surgeon really couldn't help me with. so - i just barged into threads that i was interested in or was looking for identical info.....really didn't care who i annoyed (or still do) this is the net.....not going out to drinks w/you - but would like some input or offer my story/advice if asked. along the way - some, me included have made real life friends ... can't be helped, when you participate in the same few threads for a yr+ w/the same individuals. you develope a kinship. i'd work this place to your advantage as best as possible.
  8. your only question that i can see on your previous posts is about a fill that is time stamped this morning. really i think your jumping the gun - many post in the evenings & wkends.....no reason to sell yourself short here.
  9. ebony - is your state of employment a right to work state? i know TX is, and even w/union representation - an incorporated employer can fire on spot ... no reason needed. from all appearances - you are being managed out. while thinking about your next step - include with that a compensation exit plan. you know the kind where if they really want you gone - you have a price tag to go quietly.
  10. i wouldn't advance my diet w/out having a conversation w/my surgeon. your still in healing mode & any extra work on your stomach could jeopardize your band. not sure your post op diet plan - but Protein drinks / egg drop Soup went a long way till i got to the mushy stage. hang in there,
  11. ebony - hope you can enjoy a relaxing wkend , you deserve it! pjtp - zucchini. this is my first year growing veggies outside of container herbs and i have enough to feed a family of 10, just w/today's picking. i'm not much of a baker, but i think i need to make a few zucchini breads & either give away or freeze....who knew my thumb was actually green:) anyho - TGIF!
  12. today - 30min stairmaster / 30min treadmill
  13. keeps mouth shut'n up.....:scared2: rained last night & cooled a LOT down, someone was listening to me B*&^H. Ebony, Ebony - gosh, you are between a rock & hard place. BB CAN do whatever he wants & that means delay any written reprimand - very unfortunate he is not the least bit sympathetic to your situation. Question - have you only applied for internal jobs? might be a good idea to start a search externally now, very sorry your dealing with this crap.
  14. it does for me. i don't care for the face to face support group - one weight watchers mtg a few yrs back did me in on that scene. i see my dr regularly enough & his practice is quite accessible should i have an emergency or question needing answered. he's also 1.5hr away & his support mtgs are in the evening -so that's not going to happen for me, even if i was interested. good luck.
  15. i drink the regular premade or powder ones myself - really never looked till this AM the fat & sugar content.....11g/5g respectfully. this is the only brand that tastes good to me. yesterday - b - greek yogurt w/blueberries & granola l - spinach casserole - 1 square s- mini ice cream sandwich d- bowl of shiritaki noodles w/meat sauce
  16. nah - that's boring, but the conservatives should schedule another tea party.
  17. UGH - it's 6'ish here and 109, had a third AC unit installed today (had to shut the WHOLE 2 other ones while in process) - so the house is a lovely 90 something. DH got pissed and went up to costco and bought 4 industrial stand alone fans. he has to sleep in a cave (reason for 3rd ac unit) - so starting to get some relief. KC - i don't know how you manage on that little sleep, caffine IV drip?
  18. today - spin class

i'll raise your donut w/a bowl of Pasta seriously we didn't do this to punnish ourselves from certain indulgences from time to time. at least that's how i view this process. glad you enjoyed!!!!!
  20. FINALLY a full nights worth of posts! Plains back! * happy endings - actually a joke between DH and i, there is a certain neighborhood downtown dallas that does massages & well you can pay extra, plain i'll get you the address. don't ask how i know:sneaky: * slim - for all the mowing requirements, i do love our place. we bought the place based on the property - the house, well we've been remodeling for WAY too long. * snt - how can a kid break a window? well i didn't want to be ugly, but this 6yr old is probably 85lbs & she grabbed a partial open window and free form hung on.....crack & crumble. her mom did leave me a vmail last night - so oblivious. * kc - i love hearing about your job.!. * fanny - our waters can't compare to your pics of AUS, i see what you mean re- split pea soup. * heartfire - 17yr old heart attack??? how scary * ebony - like beth, i think plain might be onto something. kat also made a good point, not sure i would sign off on the reprimand w/out my documentation of "your" story included. hope your feeling better today. caught up over coffee -
  21. yes they are & the pouch test does check that craving. i swear if it had a P in front of it, i was addicted: pizza, pasta, potato.... the shiritaki noodles are awesome - so funny this comes up, thats what i have planned for diner tonight... yesterday - b- salmon dip w/wheat thins s - 1 chicken quesidilla l/d - early diner late lunch: vietnamese bowl - pork, bean sprouts, lettuce, cucumber s- greek yogurt w/blueberries & granola
  22. diva - i define restriction by eating less & being satisfied for longer periods of time.....that by definition won't fix head hunger, something i luckily really never had. like you - i could have cared less by sweets, i could eat my weight in chips & drink the queso. i just have to keep crap out of my house. how much i eat REALLY depends on my activity & i do try to get 5 days in a wk at the gym...i have no desire to eat just .5c of food - especially after a spin class, i could chew someones arm off. well that would be the head talking, my stomach could only handle a few fingers. i place no restriction on any food group - they all have their place - even my beloved chips/queso, but i have it once a month rather than once a day. i think too much limitations drives one mad.... indio gave some great advice - you sound like a small unfill would be of benefit. hoping it all works out!!!

same boat carrie - no kids & NO plans to have them. my OB was fine w/going ahead & doing a partial hysterctomy only (not a full one) - but she suggested i try ablation first. not sure about other treatment options - but i do understand about what you say, when a dr thinks you may later change your mind.
  24. luluc replied to Carrie_C's topic in The Gals' Room
my symptoms were: bleeding - never a set period schedule & bleed longer when i did have one. bad lower back pain cramping - extreme cramps during my periods, you know the kind that put you down for a day - heating pad?? pms - was just a mess emotionally, and i'm not a "crying" type but i would at an at&t commercial:wink: w/the ablation - i really no longer get a period; maybe one day every 45 days or so. i still get an episode of cramping or back pain - but NOTHING like before. pms was also cut significantly...... i wasn't opposed to a hysterectomy - but didn't want to pull that trigger till i tried the ablation., which seems to have worked decently enough for me to suggest...,
