  1. I'm on the liquid stage, am about 6 days out from being banded. I'm supposed to start mushies next week but am getting nervous after reading about people getting chicken stuck. It sounds painful and now that the hunger is going away, am thinking maybe I should just stick with the liquids... Any thoughts anyone? Thanks. Becky :ranger:
  2. Mona patti, what day were you banded? I was banded on 10/18 and am off Clear liquids, and just on liquids. Are you having just the shakes and cream soups? Tomato or chicken? Thanks! Becky :ranger:
  3. I was banded by Dr. Carson Liu 11/18 and it was a great experience. My daughter had a Gastric Bypass by Dr. LePort and also had a great experience. Insurance covered both surgeries. Good luck! Becky:ranger:
  4. Coo, congratulations! Hope all went well and you're feeling good (better?)! Keep up with the walking and you'll feel great in no time! Let us all know how it went for you!! Becky
  5. Hey Angelica, congratulations!! Keep up with the walking, it's one of the best ways to get rid of the discomfort and pain! Don't make the mistake I did and drink undiluted apple juice!! It just gets better and better from here! Good luck and congrats! Becky :ranger:
  6. Hey Coo, are you from Scotland?? That looks like a Highland coo to me! I had the pleasure of discovering Scotland last October and fell in love with it! Best wishes and cheers!! Becky
  7. Lilynolife - why in Belgium? Sign me, Curious Becky
  8. Hey Moving4ward, my banding date was 10/18 too! How are you doing?? OregonHolly, can I be added to your list too? beckymein......10/18.......Becky Thanks! Becky
  9. Hey Tenacious TENS! I'm glad to be a part of this group!! I just got banded on Thursday, 10/18 and it's been interesting to say the least! I think the ONE thing I was not expecting was the emotional aspect of all this. I was prepared physically and I thought mentally, but I'm finding that food was truly a 'mood enhancer' for me. Take that away and WOW! I'm working (struggling) through that, reaching deep to be patient and not get frustrated and/or discouraged. Took a while to put all this weight on (again and again), so it will take awhle to get it off! Very happy to see a support group here, this lapbandtalk is VERY helpful to me! Good luck to all the others out there!! :clap2: Becky :ranger:
  10. Ok here's a new question (I should probably just start a new thread)... but I'm wondering if anyone out there is eating any 'creamy' soups. I'm off the 'clear liquids' and on to just liquids and I'm wondering if the creamy soups are allowed... Anyone have any idea? Thanks! P.S. Rick: you're making me crazy with your double cheeseburger and fries bouillion...how did you know that's my fav??? :faint:
  11. Welcome to the forum! I'm new here too, have been reading the entries and there is a lot of great support to be found here. I was banded on 10/18, so I'm not quite a week out. I go to the doctor for my first post op check on 11/1 and first fill 11/15. Where in CA are you located? I'm in Mission Viejo and the fires are terrible around here right now. It's really hot outside and the smell and smoke are just nauseating! Hope you're somewhere you're not being affected! Good luck!!:ranger: Becky
  12. Hey TopDownBug, I had the surgery on Thursday, 10/18 and MY birthday was Sunday too! Happy belated, Libra!! Good luck!
  13. What is a Boca burger? Is it like a veggie burger you reheat? Thanks! Becky
  14. Hi Kevin, I was banded 2 days after you and have been amazed and how HUNGRY I have been feeling. I almost feel like I was less hungry on the pre-op liquid diet. My stomach is rumbling all the time and if I smell one more cup of bouillion (well I won't go there). You are not alone in your agony...it helps to know others are feeling this way too. I am hanging on for the start of 'mushy foods' next week and then my first fill on 11/15. I think as long as I can can eat SOMETHING besides crystal light and Water and liquid Protein, I will survive. Hang in there, I feel the SAME way!!! :ranger:
  15. You're VERY lucky it's helping to keep you so satisfied. I'm 4 days out from the surgery and my stomach rumbling is about to drive me crazy. I feel like I'm hungry all the time. I'm getting sick of bouillion, but I keep drinking it hoping it will help keep me full! Keep up the good work and good luck to you!! Becky
  16. I was able to have as much bouillion as I could keep down prior to (and after) the surgery. I know it has a lot of salt, but if you drink the water like you should be, I wouldn't think it would be a problem.
  17. Anyone out there have to grind up their meds to take them? They are SO nasty I almost have to hurl getting them down. Any idea how long I'll have to do this until I can start taking them whole again? Thanks. Becky
  18. I'm in Mission Viejo and just got banded on Thursday, 10/18. I've been really hungry and am trying to be satisfied with the skim milk and slim fast and crystal light. I'm not sure when I'm supposed to have my first fill...does the doctor determine that or do we schedule it. My doctor is Doctor Liu from the Oband Center in Orange. Thanks for any responses! Becky
