  1. I have no fill in the band JuneBug36, that's why I am hungry. My surgeon said no fill until 6 to 8 weeks. I'm just worried that I'll gain all the pounds I lost.
  2. Hi All, I am at mushy stage and I find that I am always hungry. I'm afraid I will gain weight at this stage. Any tricks you know? Suggestions are welcome. Moreover, I never felt any restriction when I eat. Everything goes down. I never felt food get stuck there.. Is that normal?
  3. I have United Healthcare Oxford, approved on first letter. I had a very good surgeon from Connecticut. Dr James Bonheur. He is so good..
  4. I'm in New York and New Jersey area. Where can I buy some protein chips without going online. I don't like to pay for shipping cost. I saw some products at Amazon but there is a shipping fee. I do need some sort of crunch now. Help!
  5. OMG! the wendys chili blended taste sooooooooooooo good. I will have it again tonight! Pinterest has some great recipes. Thanks LinsC
  6. Thanks LisaCaron. You just gave me a great idea...meatballs and sauce....that is something that will taste heavenly!
  7. Oh you're right CherieRyde. I read somewhere pineapple is a no-no in this stage. Thanks.
  8. Eggs got stuck? I thought egg is a soft food. I think this stage is really a threat to someone who still want to lose weight. My doctor told me I even can blend steak if I want to .....haha
  9. Baked potato sounds good. I guess my stop tonight is wendys for chili and baked potato...... I'm kinda tired of pudding but cottage cheese is a welcome idea....with pineapple.....
  10. wendys chili sounds good. Have you tried mashed potato from Popeyes too? Can I have that or it's too fattening? I just don't want to gain weight on mushy stage. Help! I'm going to the grocery today to stock up. Need suggestions on what to buy...
  11. I know in the mushy stage, we can blend anything and I know we can eat tuna salad or egg salad. I was wondering how people can eat a salad without a bread or even a lettuce cup? I do need to know how people cope up in this stage. Tell me any outrageous food you have blended, and does it taste good?
  12. Hi knad. I don't feel any restriction at all because the band is not tight yet. I do feel like hunger is not that much of an issue with me at all compared before surgery. There is maybe a bit of restriction because the band is in the stomach so I guess we get full faster. Like you, I am so happy with the results. I have never seen the scale go down for the last 3 years and now it is all happening.
  13. I suggest dessert sugar free gum. They have great flavors, chocolate mint, peach cobbler and cinnamon roll. I bought these gums yesterday at target.
  14. Good luck. I am 12 days post op and the pain went away. I couldn't believe it's gone today! Walk a lot and take gas x strips.
  15. Hi all, I am 12 days post -op and this topic are for those of you experiencing pain first few days of surgery. I just want to inform everyone that this pain goes away on the 2nd week. I felt so much pain the first 3 days after surgery and today, I feel nothing. I literally called my surgeon to ask when I can go to the gym and he said as of today, I can use the treadmill but no weight lifting. I lost an amazing 14 lbs! I am 170 lbs right now and I am very happy that I want to uplift mood of people undergoing the first few days post-op. Believe me , pain goes away. Take your gas-x and walk a lot. I am still on liquids, will start mushy food in 2 days. I feel like I can continue the liquids because I think with the liquid diet, you lose weight quick. Any input on this? Thanks for reading my post.
  16. Thanks for tmf for explaining that to me. Now it makes sense
  17. Hi all, I just want to ask if this is normal. I feel pain after I sip a soup, drink a shake or even eat a pudding. Is this normal? I'm 8 days post op.....
  18. I felt extremely sad the first few days of my surgery coz I realized I cannot eat some of my favorite food. I was also sad because my weight went up after surgery . I was thinking after all the liquid diet?!...Anyhow, now I am 8 days post op and feel ok. The scale finally moved and I'm 8 lbs down. Keep hanging in there. You'll feel better in a few days!
  19. I had my surgery 8 days ago and I'm drinking 6 pills a day, nothing was stuck . I was also in pain like you the first 3 days but the meds helped a lot and walking. Make sure you take gas-x strips and stool softener. It will help. Good luck on your speedy recovery
  20. Thanks everyone. Right now I'm back to being 178 and I hope I will lose weight as time goes by. If you do the math, the calorie intake is not even 1000 calories per day, so basically you can lose weight without even trying around 2 to 3 lbs / week. I am amazed on how people lose weight so quickly. I'm not one of those people unfortunately.
  21. WE have the same surgery date, Aug 6, 2014. I am on shakes this week and cream soups. No cereal or oatmeal yet.
  22. Hi all, I think this is a good site to post questions that seems to boggle me. I had lap band 8/6/2014. I gained 5 lbs after surgery! I have no clue why, I guess it was the fluids and gas that they gave me, who knows! I have been on Clear liquids for a week now and started my shakes today. I was so down yesterday that I had godiva ice cream. Let me tell you, DON'T EVER DO THIS! I had intense pain after and I have to drink Percocet to relieve the pain. Now I realized I have to follow my doctor. I am focus starting today. My swelling hasn't gone down and gas is still there. I am back to work today and doing better than a week before. Everytime I look around people eating yummy food, I kinda regret I did the band but on the other hand, I am trying to look futuristic here and maybe one day I can reach my goal which is to lose 60 lbs!
