  1. I finally went to my surgeon yesterday and had .75 cc taken out of the band. What a difference. The cough disappeared and I am no longer vomitting. My only concern is I am able to take in more food . Just afraid of ganing weight but I'd rather have this feeling rather than not sleeping and throwing up... Just have to move more, eat less.....:-)
  2. We have the same stats and you lost more than me so I think you are on the right track..
  3. I still didn't sleep well last night...what's new? lol My band likes all the bad food and can't take good Protein. Hmm....can't wait to have to an unfill. Let you know what happens on Monday at my surgeon's office....Hope I'll finally get a good sleep Monday night.....
  4. Yes I am very uncomfortable and frustrated. I cannot sleep at night and anything I put in my mouth I feel like I want to throw up. I find it miraculous that carbs slides down well........Cannot go to my surgeon sooner than Monday....I am counting the days
  5. If your BMI is over 35, you qualify for this surgery.....
  6. I think when the band is too tight, it's not good . From my experience, since I cannot have protein, I just eat slider food that are high in calories. It defeats the purpose of the band. I cannot wait til I get an unfill.
  7. yes its a typo, my appointment is 1/19, Monday... Thanks for the response. I miss sleeping at night in comfort. With the acid reflux, I wake up every 2 hours......
  8. Hi all, Question to all lapbanders. I just had a recent fill 1/7/15, that put me in 6.5 cc in my band. After that fill, I cannot sleep at night, kept having acid reflux at night, coughing ...these things never happened to me until this last fill. Moreover, I kept on throwing up esp when I eat protein like chicken. Even oatmeal in the morning seems to be a problem. I guess I shouldn't eat in the morning? Any advice would help. I have scheduled a visit on 1/13/15 with my surgeon. I think I should ask them to remove some fluid.... Thanks for your time...
  9. Thanks! I went to GNC and bought one of each flavor. I didn't like it that much and my surgeon said I can eat anything so if I want a crunch, I'll eat peanuts or popcorn.
  10. congrats susancae. you're on the right track!
  11. Hi all, Just want to share my experience with the lapband during the last 4 months. It is a great tool but you still have to exercise. It wouldn't work without it. I have stalled for the last 2 months because I was always eating out and drinking wine. Sure enough I didn't lose weight but it stayed the same for 2 months with the cheating. I went to my surgeon 2 days ago and he said I lost 8 lbs from my previous appt. This motivated me so much in concentrating on what I eat and to go to the gym. In the past couple of days, I have managed to go to the gym and look at my food intake, and when I weighed in, I have been losing 1 lb everyday. I have lost a total of 25 lbs in 4 months, seems slow as compared to people who had other type of surgery but this is 25 lbs I would have not lost if I didn't do the surgery. I am very happy with my result and I know that once I start focusing on the intensity of my exercise and watch what I eat, I will make it to my goal. Word of advice to people who are thinking of doing the surgery, just do it! You'll see great results but you just gotta be patient. Thanks for your time.
  12. Thanks gbb. One of my buddy had a fill yesterday and she told me how traumatized she was because the dr couldn't find the port. I'm glad you had a better experience. Did you feel less hungrier after the fill?
  13. I heard having a fill is painful. Sometimes doctors cannot find the port. Is that true? I'm having my first fill next week, now I'm scared.
  14. Hi all, Every surgeon is different and I want to know what your surgeon told you 3 to 4 weeks post op. Mine only said no fat, low fat diet but never mentioned quantity. Is it true you have to only eat 4 oz per meal so as not to increase your pouch? I am really confuse at this stage, first of all, I am always hungry!!!! Help!
  15. TraciL, you and I feel the same way. Always hungry, no hiccups, no sign that the band is even there. Believe it or not, my lunch today consist of mashed potato and turkey meatballs. I'm full but if you think about it, this is not the kind of food anyone should be having after 3 weeks of surgery. Yes, I think we will all gain weight until we get the fill. I am trying to stay away from the scale, I will only weigh once a week, every sunday morning.
  16. I still remember that pain that radiates to left shoulder first few days after surgery. It still hits me sometimes if I eat the wrong food. Mind you, I tried to have self control but it is very hard to avoid temptations. I am pain free right now and I have no problems swallowing food and always hungry. I need a fill soon!
  17. HOw come your first fill is sooner than mine gbb? I had surgery 8/6. My fill wont be til 9/17
  18. Congratulations! I will do the same thing when I'm ready for it. Everything is not covered by insurance, right?
  19. All my vitamins are in gummy form and the calcium is in chocolate candy form. Its awesome.
  20. Last night, I was hungry and I cannot sleep. I gulped on propel water and ate one string cheese. I was able to sleep like a baby.
  21. 2nd week post op is the mushy stage for me. Loving it.
  22. Did you have a fill? You must have lost water weight on that 17 lbs . Be patient and the scale will move
  23. What do you put with the ricotta cheese? spaghetti or tomato sauce, cheese? bake them together?
