  1. The program through my docs office says no bread, tortillas, rice, crackers, pasta etc for the first 6 months out from surgery. I am two months out and following those recommendations.
  2. I wish on this new app the Facebook share tab was not right where you post - too risky for me as many of us on here want to keep things completely private from other sources besides BP.
  3. 4MEL21 - thank you for the tip!! Going out to look for some today!!!! ????
  4. Great feedback! Anyone using Celebrate Vitamins? That is what they have at my docs office. And I wish they would all take the word Bariatric off the bottles - for those of us keeping this private!!!!!
  5. 8 weeks out and needing to reorder vitamins. Taking Multi with Iron, B-12, Calcium Citrate. Bought Celebrate at docs office and going to reorder those or try Bariatric Advantage. Any recommendations? I want as clean ingredients as possible with the most nutrients etc - no messing around for me!
  6. 8 weeks out tomorrow and down 33 pounds since surgery!! So excited but have been at this weight for 3 weeks now - hoping to see the numbers decline ASAP again.
  7. I do not eat rice at all. I ADORE sushi. Have been ordering a small seaweed salad (have a few bites) and 2 hand rolls without rice. It is SO good that way!! My fav meal.
  8. I got mine while still in the hospital the day after surgery. Nothing to be embarrassed about but it was a hassle - having to get out of bed so often (ouch) to use the bathroom, heavier flow due to heparin shots and those pesky nurses wanting to track urine output by having to pee in a cup attached to toilet (no, just no no no with all the blood flow).
  9. So needed some new drinks to keep up with hydration!!! Sounds good!!
  10. NavyMom6 - if you find out how let me know too!! Only interested if a private group though. Thx!!
  11. Beauty!!!!!!!! Vibrant!!!! Good work!!!! When were you sleeved etc. So exciting... I am 6 weeks out.
  12. Hi - mine was with Dr. Higa on July 9. Really tough first few weeks as I felt GREAT but had to stick to the broth and mushy food for so long. Was super tired and lacked energy in the afternoon. Once I could eat more variety I have felt so much better!!! Still trying to figure out the 30/30 rule on a daily basis but so good so far. Down around 35 pounds. How about you?
  13. Something that helped me realize my new reality today. Went out to lunch and sat at a booth that used to be so tight - not a prob today! Perspective.
  14. Kindle - which whole food based vitamins do you take? I have been buying mine at the surgeons office but would like cleaner ingredients. Thx!
  15. Matt1912 - so so impressive. I am on week 6 so new to this whole thing but happy to be here!! I did not read your history but super interested. Just wanted to confirm - were you sleeved just this past April? May I ask where? Just curious and impressed with your results which I am assuming come from both diet and exercise. Congrats on the milestone!!
  16. Made me cry too and I don't even know you!!! But I know how hard you must have worked to get where you are and the song was perfect for it!! I needed a little motivation/inspiration - just 7 weeks out but the stress in my house and life just got real - for real - LOL! Need to focus back on me and feel the strength inside.
  17. I love this thread!!! Love the pics and positive attitude and vibes!! I am going on 7 weeks out and needed some increased motivation etc. Thanks all!!
  18. Anyone had WLS at ALSA in Fresno? Want some online friends to support each other who follow the same food protocol!! Just was sleeved July 2014. Thx!!
  19. I did it July 9 so we are all in this together! I live 5 hours from where I choose to have it done, so these boards help me so much. After reading these posts and replies, I think I ADORE mrssusie and FairySleeve!!!! My kind of attitude and peeps!!
  20. I am now going on 6 weeks out and my energy has returned. Those first 4 weeks were brutal!!! So so tired and fuzzy brained by afternoon. Now that I have more food options as I am healing I have so much more energy!!! Hang in there - it only gets better and easier. I was SO HUNGRY too on the liquids and soft soft foods. Was concerned. Now with so many food options, not hungry, more relaxed and full of energy.
  21. Anyone taking this? I am six weeks out and about to start. Wanting to start Biotin too!! Upside and downside for the Actigall? I already paid for it so....
  22. Anyone else that had surgery with Dr. Higa or ALSA? I have been so impressed and so happy. Just want others to chat with that are on the same food plan etc!! Would love to hear from you!!
  23. Good luck tomorrow!! Just remember to bring your food with you in case there are not options there etc!! I just started putting nuts in my car and those squeeze packages of pure applesauce, just in case. Have a great day!!
  24. So sorry to hear about your leak - how awful. How did you know and what exactly is an abcess that would cause this. Healing thoughts your way.
