  1. AvaFern - thank you for the link!!! Got on Amazon and looks like there is a newer 2014 version? Don't know for sure it is the same scale though...
  2. Anyone out there sleeved at ALSA in Fresno? Would love to have chat friends from Dr. Higa and partners to talk to as our diets seem different than most!! Thx!!!
  3. I think we all have/had these fears and still have some. But I gotta tell you - my list was like yours before I had VSG surgery on July 9 - not too long ago. And I am down 40 pounds and feeling great. It was tough at first, but I totally stuck to the program and feeling SO GREAT now. And the best part....all those fears have been trumped by feeling in control and hopeful for the first time in many years. So happy I did it. I wish you peace and success.
  4. Disbelief!! Went out to a concert last night and did not have many clean clothes. Looked in my closet and thought, hmmm I am down almost 40 pounds since getting sleeved July 9, maybe something else will fit me? I was skeptical but my old jeans that I have not been able to fit in for years, fit perfectly!!! What a wonderful feeling!!! Feeling hopeful.
  5. Ok, now that the weight is coming off and I am working hard at being successful, I need a quality scale to rely on. My current one fluctuates so much, sometimes by 10 pounds in a few minutes that I am frustrated. Willing to invest in a good, accurate one. Any suggestions?
  6. Hang tough!!! I just started week 5 and it is amazing!! I do not know how I got thru those first few weeks, but I did. I might not ever eat broth, guacamole, refried beans, diet jello etc again. Not kidding here. It was brutal. But sooo worth it. Eating much more variety now, slowly and carefully - but can go to almost any restaurant and order off the menu! I am not beyond exhausted in the afternoons. Much happier. But glad I stuck to that hard phase - I am 30 days out from Sleeve surgery and down 32 pounds. Feeling hopeful. You. Can. Do. It. There r some of those squeeze packets that helped for something different. Strawberry banana was good. Ugh I even was so desperate, I put onion soup mix in low fat plain Fage yogurt a few times.
  7. Hi - one month out from getting Sleeved and down 32 pounds!!! Reading about hair loss and gallbladder issues. Any successes taking Biotin? Any thoughts on the pricey Gallbladder prevention meds? Thank u!!!!
  8. To laugh or cry?!! My docs office got pre-approval for surgery in-network. My insurance broker told me that my new health plan with Humana includes Bariatric Surgery. I went ahead with it and got Sleeved a month ago. Doc did not require anything up front and insurance was approved. Received Claims last week from Humana that all charges associated with this have been denied due to lack of coverage of Bariatric Services. Just wrote an appeal - ahem....long, detailed with pre approval code and my anger all displayed in letter. What gives? Could they really deny this?? I am infuriated and told them so. I should be recovering and focusing on my health but stress does not even begin to describe what I am going through with them. Any thoughts or advice so appreciated.
  9. Got sleeved on July 9, 2014 - so happy to see this group!!!
