I am very happy to encourage all of you!! What an awesome journey it is. After a year out, it is renewing to read your posts and sense the excitement and hope of a better future!! If you click on my profile pics you will see several before and during pics, but here are a few. The one in grey is the night before surgery. The one in the black ws taken 8 months out, so it is about 3 1/2 months old. I will take new pics at 1 year. I still have to pinch myself. The REAL me is coming back!! She has been hidden under all that fat for a very long time. I forgot how much I really like her (me).

Couch to 5k Question
I have completed the couch to 5k and did it on the treadmill. I didn't start running outdoors until after I could run 5K. Now it is so hard to make myself run on the treadmill because it is so eautiful outdoors. Anyway, to answer your question, I did not adjust the incline on the treadmill. Now that I run outside I can adjust the incline without problems. I wouldn't worry about the incline. As long as you are sticking with the program at what ever speed and incline you choose you are building endurance and will be successful at it!! Best wishes to you!!

Any one want to exercise every day this month?
Yesterday..We went camping and I forgot my running shoes. :tongue2: I can't run in my boots. I walked instead. It's not the exertion that I had planned, but I wanted to make sure that I didn't let a day go by without exercising.

Music really helps me with my runs. I don't think I could do it without my music. It would get way too boring.

Low Carb Banders Unite
Thanks for the info, Kami. I am always looking for something diffrerent. There is no Asian market here, but if we go to the Dallas area I will have to look for them. I have a new favorite. It was passed on to me by Georgia Girl. It sounds weird, but is so yummy. 1lb ground sausage with 3/4 pkg of cream cheese. YUMMY!!

Any October Bandsters!??!?!
I love Pittsburg Hotlinks too. I haven't had any since I was banded. I am eating low carb right now. How many carbs in a hot link?? HMMMM. I used to work at a Resteraunt called Warrick's. They are owners of the Hot link place. I know them personally. Nice people. I don't know anyone looking for a house here, but there are lots of them for sale.

Renewedhope is Headed for the Flatlands
Tonight I saw some size 8 shorts on clearance for $3. I asked DH if I should get them, and that maybe I could wear them once I was healed from surgery. There were some size 6 beside them. My DDH said, "You better get those 6's too". So, I bought both pair. I put the 8's on just to see. Ok this may be hard to picture, but I can buttona nd zip the 8's under my belly flap, so my flap is hanging over, but I could pull it up and actually see what a pair of shorts look like withou my belly flap. I LOOKED TINY!!! I couldn't even believ my own eyes. I can't imagine that she will really remove all of that "junk" that was hanging over, but if she doesn, man!!!! This will definately be worth it!!

Any October Bandsters!??!?!
The most difficult thing was the period from after surgery until you have good restriction. I couldn't even tell I had a band. I kept on my plan mostly during this time and lost around 10 pounds a month, but it was so hard because my band wasn't helping me yet. I remember thinking that this worked for lots of people, but it was going to be another thing that I did to lose weight that failed. Being obese, we become so accustom to weight loss plans not working. Well, it works. Once you have restriction your are like, WOW!! This period is known as Bandster Hell, and now I know why. Just remember that this is not "another weight loss attempt" This is a lifestyle change and determine from the start that you are going to be successful, and once you get through Bandster Hell you will begin to see results that you really wondered if were possible.

Any October Bandsters!??!?!
Just want to stick my head in and wish all of you the best. I was banded Oct 24 of last year. What a difference a year has made. I am not the same person that I was when I sat where you are just 1 year ago. It is not easy. In fact, at times it is very hard, but so worth it. I am approaching my 1 year bandiversary and have lost 86 pounds!! For my bandiversary gift I am having a tummy tuck and thigh lift on Oct 24 of this year. I've gone from size 22 to size 10. So jump in and give it all you've got. Whatever happened to the October 07 group I'll never know, so if yall don't mid I will be checking in and rooting yall on.

The thread has been pretty slow. I have posted a few times, but not much going on there. Post to it and I will start posting again. Let's see if we can't revive it. There are a lot of low carbers out there!!

Renewedhope is Headed for the Flatlands
My weight has slowed significantly in the last 3-4 months. I was planning to start PS consults at 150. I am 5'5. Since my weight loss has slowed it just seems like the right time to do it. I think that is a very personal decision. I know some surgeons require you to have been at goal for some time. Mine has not such requirements and now just seems to be the time. When it is time, I think you'll know. Some of the other ladies may be able to answer this question better since they are further along in this part of the journey.
