  1. Gummy is absolutely right. You will not feel that full feeling until you get to eating solid foods. There's a valve at the end of the stomach called Pylorus. It stays open for liquids. So liquids are just passing through. When food gets in there, it shuts and holds the food in there for digestion. That's why later down the road they don't want you drinking too close to eating. You don't want that food passing through and causing you to becoming hungry sooner. Which leads to more consumption of food. Hope that helps and I felt the same way. I felt I could intake too much. It's not that. The Doctors are just letting your body heal. You're not doing anything wrong
  2. @@BlendyWendy Congrats on the 14lbs !! oooh that "It's getting real feeling" is pretty profound huh? Come back here as soon as you're feeling up to it and let us know how you are doing !!! We are all here for you !
  3. @@Elaine Sunday you will still be able to have your favorite foods. It will be in very very small amounts, but you'll get the flavor. I have a saying when I was dieting ... the first bite "mmmmm this is good" .. the second bite "Mmmm that was good" ... two bite rule ! Please don't let your head think that you will never ever have those foods !
  4. @@downsizingdebs, maybe talk with your doctor and tell him the situation. That's a unique situation and i'm sure the doctor and work with you on it @@swedy1 - are you on clear or full liquids. If full liquids try liquifying some soups Those are a nice change of pace !! @@aSleeveStory - Sorry those things are too heavy. I'm with you too.. so over Protein shakes lol @@Monasongbird_38 - October 2104 friends @@shmeyers - my surgery buddy !! Can't believe it's been two weeks tomorrow. Let me know how you do with all the new foods. I have to wait until Wednesday night !! @@lovelytrl - My other surgery twin !! Head hunger and the mental part is something that you're going to need to work through. It's the most difficult. But we are not going to be away from the foods forever. It's just while we heal. We just won't be able to eat a lot of our favorite foods. We will really notice it once we start eating solid foods. Right now everything is just passing through. We are not getting that full feeling. And look, Friday I went out with friend and just had the broth of some gumbo. It was delicious ! Soon you'll be able to having that good Nawlins food ! This is my day today ... So I just had my 2 week follow up and I"m just happy. I absolutely LOVE my surgeon. So he took a look at my incisions and I told him I was allergic to the glue. Even showed him the pic that you guys saw, he said "Yup, out of all my years of doing this, I've only see 3 people who really are allergic to the glue.. and you are one of them" . He said a lot of people think they are allergic, but I really was. Anyone who knows me, knows I'm special like that LOL Also I told him about me stalling for 5 days, and he gave me that look.. then said "I don't care about weight loss right now... you tell me why I don't care about weight loss" .. I said, "Because I'm healing?" ... he smiled and nodded. He also said that the reason for these food steps has nothing to do with the diet, but everything to do with healing. He said, go ahead and use salt, use pepper, use your seasonings. You're eating such a small amount compared to before surgery. Enjoy it. Also said I can start transition into puree on Wednesday, but only at night for the first week. He said on the third week of any meal type, use it as a transition into the next. I thought that was smart !! He said he wants to see me in 3 months and is looking around a 24 lb loss. To me that seems small, but maybe he just sets it low so people don't stress out. Hope everyone have a great day. Thanks for reading my rant As my doctor said .. "The scale is going one way .. down" We all got this !
  5. @@Kpar909956 also ask if you liquify some Soups if that's okay

  20. Feeling silly. I'm done with pics for today LOL
  21. RM, this is a lot better than what it was. It was bright red. Even my nurse said I might get some blistering and pimple like spots. Thank goodness that never happened. Right now it's just a little bit itchy. I take benedryl every night and put benedryl cream. The doctors will see them Monday.
  22. Sooo laughing at Peek !!!!!!!!!! .. hospital ::: laughing::: It's not bruising, mine is a rash. An allergic reaction to the glue. I searched the boards and about every couple of months someone has an allergic reaction this this. Scary huh !!! One more pic ... Now y'all know me well enough.. so this should't surprise you. But I wore my bikini at my highest weight ever 300. I believe we are all beautiful people, and if others can't see it, well.. that is their problem. This was taken at my house, but I wore this bikini on Vacation in Biloxi .. and you know what... no one said a damn thing ! I felt great !!!

  24. wow ! I'm jealous of all y'alls incisions.. I just took a pic of mine. Don't gasp.. I told you it was an allergic reaction LOL. Peek - congrats on what your primary care said ! You'll heal up nicely And I will.. I'll ask my doctor monday how many calories I should be at. Im right between 400 to 600 cals. Okay.. so we all have that little voice in our head. The voice or reason. The one that we smack around and tell it to shut up? See, I knew you had one too So this morning I took it easy. Since taking benedryl for my incision rash, it makes me very sleepy even in the mornings. So I caught up on some stupid soaps, and rested. Finally the time is closing in on me and I really need to go drop off my pain med script. I could have easily gotten in the car, or even took the dog in the car to walgreens. But that voice said.. "Stop whining, and just do it, you'll be proud of yourself later". Usually at that point I smack the little B, but said okay, I"ll do it. And you know what... it was a hot, but nice walk, and it was right.. I feel good. So don't talk yourself out of things, just know we all do things that we don't necessarily want to do at first, but then we are happy we did it That's my story for now... after seeing some of my girlfriends tonight.. I might have more Here's a pic of how many minutes I walked, and my incisions. Again, don't scream or think I"m dying
  25. @@Peekboo I"m so jealous ! I want fish sooooooooo bad. I see my Dr monday and I'm going to beg him to let me eat some fish !
