  1. I also read on a lot of the boards that most of the time the pain goes away at 2 months. So don't worry, it will heal
  2. @@athomas125 .. ours were pulled out on the left side.. so it's whatever side the stomach was pulled out.
  3. @@rmspencer you are kicking ass and taking names !!!
  4. Another thought... I have been having left side pain. So I told my husband I should finally get the pain script of Tylenol 3s filled. I said "I'll take Cooper (my dog) and walk to walgreens tomorrow to fill it" .... it's about a 2 1/2 mile walk (round trip). I like I have that mind set !!! And TONIGHT ! Ooh Tonight ! I'm meeting up with some of my girlfriends I haven't seen in awhile. We are meeting at a bar and grill. And guess what.. I've looked at the Soups and I think I'll have a cup of the broth from the gumbo and drink some Water. I can enjoy an evening with the girls and make good choices. And yeah, I'm not going to lie, I really want the fish and chips.. but that day will come too
  5. Yup, I'm a daily weigher myself and I think I always will be. No matter how hard I try. I like knowing. I dropped 11 lbs in 5 days, then it slowly dropped, then went up 2 lbs and after no loss for two days, I'm back to losing a pound. But look at the average. I'm 10 days out and down 12lbs ... uhm.. yeah.. I like those results. It averages out nicely !!! So yeah, I was worried about the gain, but it could have been anything. I've been reading a lot of boards. Even the veterans boards. We don't have to do anything but eat our portions and what our doctor tells us and the weight will come off on its own time. Our bodies will understand what we want it to do. We will ALL stall, we will all fluctuate... but look how many people on these boards lose their weight. We got this !!! side note... I was a huge coffee drinker before ... I'm talking 3 to 4 24oz cups of coffee a day. I find it very comical that I don't want coffee anymore and that I don't like it as much as I used now. My go to thing in the morning is hot cocoa. Which my little cup of cocoa has 60 grams of Protein in it (Double milk and a packet of protein powder). I hope everyone has a great day and we just need to follow some rules till regular foods, then it's using our pouch to tell us not to over eat.. which is why we had this surgery.
  6. Thanks Everyone !! That's why I love this board !
  7. Karen, call your DR tomorrow and ask them please. It may be something simple, but it might be better to ask.
  8. RM, I just want to hug you!! None of us in this world are perfect. Use this board as your tool to make good choices as well. Now that's it's over, don't let the guilt beat you up. Live, Learn and move on. No looking back. we all care about each other so again.. big big hug Hey everyone, Today I'm a bit tired, and whiney. My left side is hurting. It's from where they pulled my stomach out. I think the swelling in my body is almost gone, so I'm feeling a bit more pain. Today I went and picked up tacos for a friend. He had foot surgery and missed his normal Taco Tuesday, so I brought it to him. They smelled good, but it's funny how I didn't want any. I watched him and his girlfriend eat them. I hope everyone is having a good day. Sorry I'm not super Rah Rah today. Just not feeling it
  9. Just don't make it a habit and revert to old habits. HUGS !
  10. Yup, I agree with Peek. We will all have those moments. Just be careful. and chew chew chew. I've seen posts in the complications section where they are 5 to 8 weeks out and get a leak. Just chew and be safe !!!
  11. For me, I just feel lighter on my feet. I can also sit and feel like it's getting smaller. But then again, maybe I'm a freak. Because when I gained 50lbs in 3 months, I could also feel the fat growing on me. It was soon gross. And I wasn't able to do anything about it.
  12. No Rocky, it's a mix of different types of Proteins.
  13. Karen, I'm wondering about the activity ticker when you first join. Thanks Peek! Good words !!! I really can't go by the scale. I still feel that "Shrinking" feeling. If you know what I mean.
  14. I saw that Karen ! The thing that bothers me is they named it October Sleevers ... if you want privacy why name it something like that LOL I don't trust that the name of the group can't be seen by anyone.
  15. Well I didn't listen and weighed today. Gained two pounds LOL. I'm not going to let it get me down. In fact I'm laughing at it. I drank a 32oz bottle of gatorade last night. I'm sure it shocked my body. Also I think TOM is on it's way in a few days.. or it should be. And I know that 1 gallon of Water = 8 lbs soo ... I just keep remembering, no matter what the scales say, it will come off !! I"m going to have to attitude to just look at the scale and say "Yeah? You think that's right.. well you're gown DOWN on my watch" LOL
  16. I'm on the other side in The Woodlands. :D
  17. So is it safe to say we are all worried that something is going to happen and we will not be successful? I've been overweight my whole life. I've been looking at boards and people's stats, and I just feel there's no way that I'll ever get thin. I have that 'It won't happen to me, something is going to happen" feeling. Weird ! Hate this feeling tonight !
  18. Hey Everyone !! I tried a couple of "unflavored" Protein powders and they are gross. They are not unflavored at all. I hate buying a big container of something so can you awesome people suggest the best unflavored protein powders? THANK YOU !!
  19. How about this. Lets create a FB group, make it private and a few of us "techies" can test it out before the end of the month to make sure nothing is seen by anyone ! and I'm like Kathie, I love Bariatric Pal. I have two tabs open on my browser, FB and BP. Great to have so many people to talk to about this ! LOL Peek, yup, it is !!! Welcome to the group Peek's Ticker Lazy Lizzy Congrats on starting the pre op liquid.. I know, don't roll your eyes and think .. "shut up lady, I want some solid foods"... because let me tell ya, we want them too ! LOL Hang in there !!! You can vent to us anytime ! Susan, LOVE your new little gadgets !!!! Soon we will be like Peek and Kathy and on to the mushies. So jealous !! Enjoy it ladies ! HUGS !
  20. ATTENTION EVERYONE I care about all of you, so sorry if this is TMI, but I want to make sure we are all doing well ... Is everyone peeing and having bowel movements ? Your pee should be light yellow to clear, bowel movements every couple of days if not every day, and may be thin because of our liquid diets. Just keeping it really and making sure everyone is healthy !
  21. haha Steph !! Lets hold on and see what happens and see how everyone feels
  22. Susan, no ! you didn't stretch your sleeve, but you felt it, huh !! We are not really going to know the restrictions of our stomachs until we start eating solid foods. With a big swig, you kind of felt the restriction. Which is good. that's why we did what we do. Now we know not to do that LOL HUGS, do not worry about it !
  23. @@athomas125 - you need your fluids. Even if it's just Water, gatorade, power aid, or a glass of skim milk. Something ! You need your energy. @@shmeyers, yeah, it's 1 cup mootopia (12 grams of protein) and 1/3 cup of milk powder (8 grams of protein). An easy way to add protein. @@Kimberly_R - Great to know ! I asked mine today as well. They said the only reason for the restrictions is for healing processes. It has nothing to do with weight. She told me the goal was to get to 5 to 6 meals a day, so if I take my time, I'm okay to do so. I cut back today to a 1/2 cup of soup instead of a full cup. In fact I feel better eating only 1/2.
  24. Okay, I'm okay with a FB Page as long as the name of the group has nothing to do with being sleeved or weight loss or anything, and it's completely private and you must be invited to join. Steph, maybe create an account that’s not your full name and use it just for that? OR, we could create a yahoo group ? I’m more of a fan of FB, but I’m also like everyone. I don’t want people to find out on my FB that I had surgery. Thoughts? Yup, RM, I’m like you, I’ve been having lots of cravings. Today I’ve been having a terrible craving for beef. So I took a progressive light pot roast Soup, put it in my blender, added some beef broth, and blended that bad boy up until it was all liquid. Took care of the craving. For your bacon, the other day I took a bean bacon campbells soup, added my double milk, and blended till liquified. Add some salt and pepper to that bad boy, yum !! I think I’ll do what Steph said when i want some cheese. That sounds good steph ! As far as my allergic reaction to the glue, I’m doing better. I take a benedryl at night and put benedryl cream on it during the day. It’s starting to turn from a reddish purple rash to a pink rash. The glue is coming off my incisions on the sides. I’m not too worried, those incisions look good (besides the rash). Jen - It’s funny how most of the times our loved ones are more worried. I hope you have the best and greatest surgery tomorrow !!! Deb - It’s great to see your post !! How are you doing now?? LOL @ gym ready! Steady nelly It’s exciting though !! RM - I kinda felt that way too, but today everything feels better. I think we need to control our head, and let your bodies do what we are telling them to do with the food. We will lose weight. … you said it great in your post ! Susan - Great recipes ! Thanks !!! FIRE - CONGRATS !!!!!!!!!! Keep walking girl ! I’m so happy for you !!!!!!
  25. Kim... that is my question too.. I finally couldn't do that sip thing and just stick to 5 small meals a day and a rate that makes my sleeve feel good. Listen I'm going to call my surgeon's nurse and ask her tomorrow. I'll let you know what she says !
