i watched some u tube videos of others with gastric sleeve. The clear is low calorie no carbs & 40 GM of protein. The powders are 50gm protein, no carb or low carb for 200 calories and they taste pretty good

my pre-op diet is 2 protein shakes, 3 oz of protein, 2 cups of veggies twice a day, low fat dairy in am. 700-800 calories a day

So anybody else had problems with approval first go around? Cigna wanted more notes from NUT and I had to ask my PCP to write a more specific medical necessity letter. I am 5'6" and 248lb, BMI is 40.06. What do you guys think ?

So still waiting for my PCP to send a revised letter of medical necessity to my surgeons office so they can send it to insurance again. I am trying to stay calm but SOOOO anxious! Crossing my fingers

Everyone of your goals touches me. I too want bend over and tie my shoes without stopping to breathe. Climbing stairs, better sex, looking on the outside how I feel on the inside, no more reflux, cute clothes, doing activities with my family that my weight doesn't allow right now .... On and on

So happy for all of you that are approved and scheduled! I have CIGNA and my paperwork was submitted last Tuesday August 26. Today I got a call that my PCP needed to write a more specific letter regarding bariatric referral and clearance for surgery. So if spoke with the office and hope they get the letter faxed tomorrow. I am so anxious!!

So Cigna says my sleeve surgery is not medically necessary. I am 248 and 5'6". My BMI is 40. So the office is going to call and talk with them. I really need and want this surgery! Pray for me please

I started my sleeve journey in May and have my last appt. with nutritionist aug. 26th. Once insurance gives the go ahead I will get my surgery date.
