  1. I've only lost 21 pounds since surgery (yesterday was 2 months.) I was expecting more weight loss and quicker weight loss. Don't get me wrong. I am pleased and still thrilled I had it done.
  2. I didn't really have to lose weight pre-op until it was discovered I gained so much weight in between visits with him. I had to work my butt off to get to at least 2 pounds less than I was at my first appointment (16 lbs all together). I DID IT! Today I am on Clear liquids. I go in for surgery at 7:30 in the morning. How are you feeling? Is it what you expected? Are you in a lot of pain? How are you feeling emotionally?
  3. Hi, I'm having surgery tomorrow by Dr. Judd. I am having a Band to Sleeve Revision.
  4.    jenlev67 reacted to a post in a topic: Very disappointed!
  5. I went for my first fill this past Monday. I had gained 4 pounds since my previous visit two weeks prior (17lbs since surgery, 30lbs total). Anyway...the nurse practitioner nonchalantly asked me why I wanted the surgery and I told her the usual answer, "I want to be healthy, feel better, look better" and so on. All of a sudden she just tore into me. She berated me in such a harsh way I felt like a piece of garbage. She implied I made a mistake having the surgery, that she can't help me if I am not willing to make the effort. She continued for a good five minutes. I forgot to mention I had an audience, she was training another practitioner at the time. Then all of a sudden she said "well, you don't have any restriction right now, it is as if you never had the surgery, it isn't totally your fault." I'm not sure how to deal with this situation. It has been almost a week and I am still obsessing over it. Do I complain to someone at the office? do I give her another shot? Should i request a different practitioner? Should I just get over it and focus on my weight loss? Was she trying to scare me straight, I have lost the 4lbs I gained since that day? I was given 2cc and have a tiny bit of restriction. I have to go back soon for more of a fill I think.
  6. My husband brought in dinner after a long drive and asked "do you mind"? I gave him a nasty look, I thought that would be good enough. He stepped away and I stole the fries like I was a child. I told him about it and he said "I guess I can't tempt you like that again." No Kidding. My doctor says nothing but Protein shakes, water, crystal light. I have to stay on it until my second post-op diet 3/24. Compared to most of the posts I have read in here, it seems extremely cautious. He has done more than 1,000 of this bands however.
  7. I am 10 days out and just blew it by eating 3 french fries! It was the first thing I have eaten that wasn't water or diet shakes. I chewed like crazy and didn't have any strange sensations. I hope I don't make a habit of this. I'm not supposed to start mushies until the 24th. I don't know why I did it. I've been feeling hungry but in control (so I thought).
  8. Has anyone else shared this experience? My surgery was on 3/5. From that day until my post-op appointment on 3/10 I was on clear liquids only. Until my next appointment on 3/24 I am only to drink 3 EAS shakes per day. That is only 330 calories a day. I'm feeling almost back to normal and am pretty sure I have physical hunger AND head hunger. I think I really need some encouragement.

  10. You are so lucky to eat 'mushies'. My surgery was 3/5. For 5 days I was only allowed clear liquids and since yesterday I am only allowed 3 thin protein shakes daily. That is only 330 calories a day, and I am expected to do this for 2 full weeks. Doesn't this seem extreme?
  11. I was to fly to Florida to visit my father a week after my surgery when my surgeon told me "absolutely not", something about air pressure blah blah blah.
  12. I know exactly how you feel. On my way to the doctor's office this morning I passed all the restaurants I used go to and had a sudden feeling of sadness. I also kind of felt like an ex-junky that can't go back to their old haunts.
  13. Holy cow, you are not kidding! Today is my first day on shakes, or as I like to refer to them "pis@*ng-out-my-as*-juice. My surgery was this passed Wednesday, I thought I was done with the rough stuff
  14. I used milk of magnesia like the doctor ordered. I have to say...it is definitely working.
  15. I had my surgery this morning. I don't feel that bad. I was told to walk-walk-walk and sip 3 ounces of water an hour.
  16. I too quit smoking (October 15, 2006) and gained 30+lbs. I have had a horrible time losing. It has taken me almost three months to lose the 5% the doctor said I had to lose before he would operate. I am being banded tomorrow morning and am freaking out just a little bit. It is true though, if you could quit smoking, you can do almost anything!
