So yesterday I was told that I had to pick a new medical group! & now I have to do a 6 month nutrition program! My original medical group only required 3 months! I am really bummed out but I prayed about it and I know my God makes no mistakes! Open enrollment is in January and I would be able to go back to my previous medical group.... However I don't want to waste any time! I am so confused as 2 what I should do! I really wanted to go through the surgeon that I met with and I do not want to re-do all of this over! I am so frustrated!

I believe I will be referred 2 him as well!! What medical group do you have?

Got it! So when u went to your initial consult you received a tentative date? I'm so confused w the whole process! I just got my authorization to see the surgeon and the nutritionist! I am waiting on the scheduler to call me.

I am so happy and sooo proud of you! These forums are the truth! It's like you know the people posting and you can relate to their happiness! Congrats. I just talked to Angela and Melissa. I am so excited I couldn't even sleep. I searched and searched the internet all night and made a long list of questions for the surgeon and everybody else!! Congrats again!

I have UHC as well and it does seen impossible to get answers from them! I am waiting on my authorization to are the surgeon so that I can start my process. What was your first consult with the surgeon like? What did it consist of?

I was approved for my consult w the surgeon? I am so confused as 2 how this works! So after my consult I can set up my 3 appointments with the nutritionist. I'm excited! My BMI was 40 on the dot today!

Thanks everybody. Tomorrow I will call and see what my next steps are. So far I only have a authorization for the nutritionalist. She works with the bariatric surgery department.

Hello, I am a LVN and currently a RN student. I am new to this site and I have tons of questions. I recently went to a Bariatric Seminar and most of my questions were answered however I still have sooo many more. When will my official weigh in be? Will it be with the nutritionalist or with my PCP who will be referring me to see the Nutritionalist? Or will it be once I see the surgeon!? I am Soo confused lol. I had my insurance verified at the seminar and I do know that I will have to see the nutritionalist 3 times once a month for 3 months. What does this appt generally consist of? Please HELP. Thanks In Advance~

So when will my official weigh in be? With the dietician or the surgeon!? I'm so confused with all of this? So the one with my PCP didn't count? I just went to target and got the ankle weights as well!

I had my first appt w my PCP and he referred me to see the nutritionalist/dietitian. I attended a seminar prior to seeing my PCP. They verified my insurance ect. The bariatric coordinator said that I had 2 see the dietician 3 times once a month? My BMI was 39.89? And I had a elevated blood pressure and tomorrow Monday I will do some blood work for my thyroid and blood sugar. Anyway, I've juicing for a few weeks and I am really hoping that my journey is smooth. I really needed that 40 BMI and I was 1 pound off! Wish me luck!

Question? Which weight/bmi will they take? The first one I have w the dietitian or the one that I had w my pcp for the original referral to the dietician?

How long was your process and did you see Melissa for your nutrition visits or did you attend the take shape for life? How many weeks/months did you have 2 do the nutrition portion? Did you have 2 see a psychologist? I think I'm confused on the whole authorization part of it? Loma Linda is my medical group and the authorization was submitted for the dietician? Who approves it? UHC right? How long was your total process?

I just went to his seminar 7-10-14. My BMI is 39.89 I wonder if I will still quality? How was your experience with this surgeon and his staff?
