  1. Way to go September Sleevers!!! Hey everyone! Just started soft foods 2 days ago. Is anyone else afraid to eat? I am so terrified of stretching out the pouch! I had 1 ounce of fish this evening and after 15 minutes I started hiccuping! That was my cue to stop! Good thing bc then I got some chest pains and a fullness in my belly! Think I only made it through half the ounce. That is so crazy! Some ppl talked about eating too fast...that is me too! I down loaded an app in my phone..eat slow...and it times my bites. Only problem is my food gets cold...probably why I ate fast before! Good luck to all! Love this site and all the advice!
  2. Hello September Sleevers! I was sleeved on 9/29/14. Go to Dr. tomorrow for first weigh in and check up. Feeling Ok Still just tired. I have been on liquids past 2 weeks so hopefully will advance to soft foods tomorrow. Head back to work on Wednesday...boo!! Highest weight was 216...surgery weight was 213; my scale this morning said 201! I will take it!! Yeah! Hope everyone is doing well! If anyone has recipes, please share!!! Happy losing!!
  3. My surgeon said to stop caffeine bc I would go through withdrawal after surgery. I am not to have caffeine for at least 6 mos post op bc it can irritate the linking of the pouch. Good luck!!
  4. Yes! I still get twinges of pain and have a little bruising. But getting better everyday!
  5. YES!! I felt the same way! I am almost 2 weeks out and still a little bloated. Just keep walking! Congrats!!
  6. Good luck! Welcome to the club! I was just recently sleeved on 9/29. Slow adjustment but ready for the new changes!
  7. I am one week post op. Feeling ok. I am on a liquid diet for the first 2 weeks. Some days a struggle to get in all 64 ounces. Few questions: anyone get chest pains when they burp or hiccup? I can take one sip of water then hiccup and get a tightness in my chest? Is that normal? Also is anyone terrified to start "eating" again?! How do you deal with that? One last thing, I am zapped from energy. Good thing I am off work for 2 weeks! I get a 30 min walk in daily and some house stuff, grocery shopping and I am done! Feel like I have no energy! Does that get better as my body adjusts?! Thank you everyone! I appreciate your insight!!
  8. No stupid questions! Through all my testings and scopes, no hernias found. But when they got in and started doing surgery they saw one near my belly button! They repaired while gettin sleeved! Who knew! I never knew I had one! Good luck!
  9. Congrats!! I was sleeved on 9/29. Keep us posted!!
  10. Thank you everyone!!! Just started tootin last night!! What a relief...mentally and physically!! Thanks again!!
  11. Hey fellow sleevers! I am 3 days post op and have not passed gas yet?!! My belly is so bloated and tender! Anyone experience these issues? Also, I am terrified to sleep on my belly! Am I being a little ridiculous? Is it OK to sleep on my belly?!! Let me know your thoughts and advice! I really appreciate all insight!! Be well!
  12. Congrats and well wishes on a speedy recovery! I am on post-op day 4. Feeling ok, but jus achy. Gas pain will not be pleasant in your shoulder, but when they remove drains, it will feel great!! Keep us posted!!
  13. I had my GI test the day after surgery. just has to sip down 2 ounces, took some pictures, and 5 minutes later all done!
  14. Ok feeling better...24 hours since surgery. Was laying at the hospital today, feeling very crappy, and I had a great nurse that told me to get my ass out of bed and walk! I am so glad she motivated me bc I did feel much better. Never thought it would be hard to sip an ounce of water, but you learn quickly not to gulp! Only major complaint is the gas pain that has settled in my shoulder area! Ouchie! Hope everyone is doing well!!
  15. Whoa! Ok, about 9 hours post op and needing some advice and encouragement. Very nauseous! And the pain in my chest from the gas is...well...painful! Whoever said to bring Chapstick is right on!! Thank you!! Can't start liuid diet until testing this morning is complete, but have no desire to eat or drink!! Would love to just sleep, but you know what it is like being in the hospital! Ok, I am keeping a positive attitude! Hope all the other sleevers are doing well!!

  20. My surgery is Monday! Almost there! I looked in the mirror today and was not happy with the person looking back. I want to be healthy for myself and my kids. This is a new beginning! Let's embrace it! No regrets!! We can do this!!
