Just had my sleeve
I was sleeved on 7/18. Still in some pain but better than Saturday. The gas is a problem though. When I sip my fluids, feels like a ball in my chest. Very uncomfortable feeling. Makes me not want to drink, but I know I have to. My surgeon only allows 4 ounces every hour and I'm struggling to get that in. My bed that I used to love is now the enemy. Just can't get comfortable. Wish I had a recliner.

Looking for July Sleevers!
I had my sleeve at ECMC too! You get your own room which is really nice, but the NP for my doctor admitted dietary does not get it. They do full liquids by the next day and tomato soup ! Overall, it was wonderful there! Just wished I felt better than I do. My surgery was Monday the 14th. my surgery was on Friday. I was in the OR from 136pm to 705pm. I had alot of scar tissue from three c sections. I came home last night. The pain and gas is almost unbearable, but I force myself to walk and drink. My surgeon is very strict. I'm only allowed no more than 4 ounces of clear liquids per hour. I have to do that until my visit with her next Monday when I'll be 10 days out. I'm trying to keep my head up and look to the future.

Any july sleevers out there?
Hi Dyesha, welcome. My surgery is tomorrow at 1155am. I'm sorta numb right now. Doing the laundry and cleaning the house to keep my mind busy. Next I'll wash my hair and give myself a pedicure to remove the nail polish. I had planned to go in with a really bright and cheerful color, but at pre testing was told no nail polish.( Insert sad face here! )

BCBS DENIED NEED HELP
I have BCBS New York. My surgery was approved over the phone, no paperwork was mailed or faxed. The approval was given within 15 minutes of the call. The secretary is still in shock. It's amazing that these insurance companies are as different in their requirements, as the surgeons are in their stand on the pre op diet. One month pre op, three, two, or one week pre op diet. No pre op diet! Amazing! Hope it works out for you soon.

Who really followed the post-op diet?
Do you mean pre op?

How they lure us...
Ms Mac. I laughed the entire time I was readind ur post. So honest and true for many of us on this pounds off journey. While I cannot say I've ever had such a food crawl, I've done ny fair share of mindless eating. Still, the way you documented the day.......hilarious!!!

need prayers.
So sorry you lost your mom. My heart goes out to you, the kiddos and the other family members. You now have two very difficult emotions to deal with. Must be extremely difficult. Is it possible you can postpone the surgery for a few weeks? Grief is so overwhelming. This surgery is physically and emotionally overwhelming. My heart goes out to you. I will speak your name when I pray. Peace and blessings,

Viral Chest infection and vomiting
I still fail to understand your hostile manner.

Shingles
What did your surgeon say about that? At my pre testing on Monday I was told if I get a cold and have a fever or upper respiratory infection I will not be allowed to have the surgery. Makes sense, but I was shocked when I was told. I want to stay in my room until Friday morning. My sixteen year old has been to three amusement parks since I received my surgery day. Love jim but wish could send himaway for the summer. Teenage friends always in the house. Do love him!!!

Maybe you don't have to do one. This liquid diet or per op diet appears to vary from surgen to surgeon. I have researched back as far as 2007. Even then people were told to do one or simply told not to gain any more weight. I'm on the 2 week liquid protein diet. My doctor explained it was to make my liver smaller. Well, I'm on week two of the diet. I'm bored out of my mind with it and spend most of the day hungry and thinking about food. Have lost 6 pounds. Strangely enough I'm not hungry at night. Then I never as a heavy eater after 6/7pm. My surgery is next Friday. I'm trying to just keep my eye on the prize. Hopefully I'll be back hone by this time next Saturday.- Still Gobbling Food
That's a great idea. I'm going to get some baby spoons. I know I'm a fast eater. I barely concentrate on om meals. I usually read and just shovel food into my mouth. I'm going to stop that. - Looking for July Sleevers!
