  1. This is from their website: Sprouted whole grain brown rice, pea, hemp and SaviSeed Proteins combine to provide 15 grams of complete Protein with a balanced amino acid profile.
  2. Is there a preference of Protein sources from powdered drinks? For example, is whey better than plant sourced? I found this great Protein powder and really like it, but it's plant based. Wanted to make sure it was ok? http://myvega.com The regular has 15 g and the sport has 30 g.
  3. I won't miss being the "Fat Mom" at my kids' school I won't miss the resentment I've grown to have for myself I, too, won't miss the extra pain on my knees, back...everything I CANNOT WAIT to find the perfect cocktail dress and have my husband be proud to take me out on the town What is it with boots? I wanna be able to wear those, too! I want to be able to take my kids to the pool during the summer and not hide under towels or a coverup So much more...
  4. I just found out I'm scheduled for Dec 4, so I'll be doing this right along side you! ???? I like Orgain shakes and Premier Protein. YOU CAN DO THIS!!
  5. I just got denied because they are not accepting my BMI of 37 with my illnesses because they don't fall into their list of approved comorbits. I have fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, Sjogren's Syndrome, Relapsing Polychondritis, gastroparesis, and degenerative disk disease. But because I don't have high blood pressure or diabetes, I'm not "sick" enough. My doctor is going to do a peer to peer. I'm just wondering if there's ANY chance of getting approved?
  6. Thanks for everyone's help, I appreciate y'all! ????
  7. Well dang! I'm sure they'll be able to figure something out to give me. I hope! ☺️
  8. Forgot to mention that I tried Benadryl with after the first time i started itching - no luck!
  9. That's why I was careful not to use allergy, but reaction. ???? I've had seven surgeries and have always been able to take hydrocodone (usually only needed it for maybe a day or two), but this summer after my knee surgery, I broke out in hives and itched so bad I was just bawling. We tried all 3 strengths and then Tramadol. Same insane itching and redness. I've been given Dilaudid through IV in the hospital, and it just makes me spacey, doesn't really do much for pain. I'm *hoping* I won't need anything, but I'd like to be prepared just in case.
  10. Did any of y'all use any sort of "firming" lotion before or after? I'm pre-op, but I've started using Nivea Firming with CoQ10 or some such. I'm just wondering if it's an exercise in futility? ????
  11. I'm currently waiting on my surgery date, but I'm getting nervous about pain. I've somehow developed a crazy reaction to hydrocodone, tramadol, any of those opioids. I have no idea what I'm going to do post-op. How long did you need pain meds? What did you take?
  12. This is a yummy Olive Garden type soup! http://damndelicious.net/2014/05/17/olive-garden-pasta-e-fagioli/
  13. Hello all! I'm also a Nicholson patient. I'm just waiting on my final approval from insurance. I'm on pins and needles. I just HAVE to get this done before the end of the year! Hope everyone is well!
  14. Hoping for the next few weeks. I'm very nervous about a flare up, too. How soon after surgery did you start *any* type of exercise, like walking, Water aerobics, etc?
  15. Hello all! I'm so glad I came across this post. I also have Fibro, Degenerative Disk Disease, and Osteoarthritis, along with gastroparesis, Sjogren's Syndrome, relapsing polychondritis, and small Fiber neuropathy. I'm eager to see *any* improvement. I know WLS is not a cure for any of my illnesses, but it can only help, right? I'm still waiting for my surgery date - hopi
  16. I looked at that last night, but saw this: C. Nationally Non-Covered Indications The following bariatric surgery procedures are non-covered for all Medicare beneficiaries: Open adjustable gastric banding; Open and laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy; and, Open and laparoscopic vertical banded gastroplasty.
  17. Really? I was told they didn't cover bariatrics. Interesting... Yeah, now that I'm going the traditional bariatric route, I can have it done at a hospital, so there shouldn't be any issues. Ha! Right! Fingers crossed, anyway.
  18. They said it was because they don't accept Medicare at all, so they didn't want me to try and run a claim through afterward. I said I'd sign a waiver or whatever they wanted, but they refused. Medicare doesn't even have bariatric coverage, so it's not like they'd pay anything anyway! I was livid.
  19. I have primary coverage through Cigna, with Medicare as my secondary (on disability). I originally was going to have to go through all of the insurance criteria, but because I need to have a previous nissen fundoplication for a hiatal hernia repaired, my doctor was going to be able to do both at once and consider it a revision, bypassing all the insurance requirements. I got my surgery date set at June 30. I did my 2 week pre-op diet, my mom bought a plane ticket to come help with the kids, husband took off work, yada yada yada. Then, last WEDNESDAY, just a few days before my surgery, the surgeon's office called to tell me the surgery center canceled my procedure because they found out I have Medicare. Um. Did they not do their pre-cert process? Why did they wait until the last freaking minute to tell me? I'm crushed. I know it will still happen, I just have to go the longer bariatric coverage route, but it just sucks. I was completely mentally prepared for it and I feel like I got the rug pulled out from under me. UGH!
  20. Thanks! I just ordered some of the samples, too.
  21. Good luck to y'all tomorrow! I was supposed to have my surgery done tomorrow, too, but complications with insurance & the surgery center have postponed it for a few weeks.
  22. I bought some more of the Core Power, it has cane sugar in it and honey. Yay! Thanks for letting me know. I'll try to get some this week. It's been almost impossible to find any that don't have artificial or stevia. I appreciate you!
  23. Oh my gosh, yes! I've always been an impatient person, but this has been torture!
  24. June 30th, here, too! Just finished 1st week of pre-op. Good luck to y'all!
