Yeah my surgeon refuses to do the surgery if you don't strictly follow the diet....he said he would be able to tell once he gets in there...im having the RNY...not sure how true that is...but he said he would stitch me back up and not do it if o couldn't even follow the ten day diet

I have a max out of pocket of 3750.00 mine is paid for so my surgery is free....i paid 3750.00 starting from jan 1st until now and so my surgery is 100% covered...good luck to you

You're lucky....i cant have ANY solid food.. ALL LIQUIDS and i can only have two protein shakes a day.. .unlimited jello and popsicles (sugar free of course) and i can have a serving of yogurt, cottage cheese or milk up to three times a day and that's it for ten days. I started my diet today my surgery is on the 15th! Good luck!

I am starting my liquid diet today and they said i could have as much Crystal Light and Wylers Light that i wanted but is that all flavors and colors? Does anyone know?

I am starting to wonder about some of these surgeons....

I feel that you may be a little hormonal haha....but good for you for not going!! I have to remember now that my family isn't dieting i am....and that what they eat is their choice not mine....but you will do great and it does stink that he asked someone else....but he isn't doing what you are....which im sure it makes you feel bad...it would me....but good luck to you and you will do great!!

Im taking 6 weeks as well!! I stand on my feet 10 hours a day and im not going back too soon

The b-12 injections aren't really expensive here in tn you can probably get a whole year for around 20.00 and that includes syringes....i hope they can get it approved for you....and yay good luck to sept approvers!!!

I am September the 15th and I am on an emotional roller coaster!!

I am on liquid diet 10 days before my surgery and the day before my surgery is when i drink the miralax, magnesium citrate and take laxative tablets....totally not looking forward to that...i start my ten day on the 5th

The only thing my doctor said they were sending is a script for Emend for Nausea that I take the morning of my surgery. So im not 100% sure if they will send anything else or not....they may send a script for the colon prep that way my insurance can pay but im not 100% sure on that either.

I took two weeks to get my approval from the insurance but I finally did! I am so excited and can't wait to see what the future holds for me. My doctors office sent out my packet today with my scripts and all my instructions. I am nervous because its getting closer and soon! I hope everyone is doing okay!!!!

See my dr already told me my surgery date.....i already have my date...they said they would cancel or push it back depending on insurance approval. My surgery as of right now is scheduled for the 8th of September. They went ahead and scheduled it that way i wouldn't be delayed any further? Idk i feel like i shouldn't have anything to worry about but I am worried. I feel like my office is jumping the gun. And i work in a retail pharmacy so they will have to find someone to cover my shifts so its just frustrating majorly.

I called my insurance on Thursday and they said that they have 15 business days.. Which puts me at the 28th....i would have to start my 10 day diet on the 29th and that doesn't include pre-testing....and i don't have my packet because im not approved yet...i just feel like im pressed for time, majorly!

Alright guys. They submitted all of my stuff to insurance on the 7th....i have united healthcare....how long if you had this insurance did it take you to hear back from the dr? I am worried that i won't be approved....even if you don't have UHC how long did it take? Im nervous.
