Wow that good to know already know you know what to expect. I had my first appointment today too and it went well. Im on the fast track. Talked to the team. Got blood work, ekg, urinalysis and chest x rays all done today. Nutrition appt on Tuesday. Psych eval appt aug 21 @6pm. They will call me for my upper gi appt next week. Then one more nutrition appt and Im all done. Submit to ins then surgery date. I will more than likely get it done in October. At least thats what Im praying for. Im doing RNY! Good luck to all.

No. They claim they did but I honestly don't think they did. I think they go forward based on your ins info. My first doc apt is tomorrow so why would he write a prescription and he's never seen me yet.

I said yes and I got denied. They are supposed to check to see if your ins covers it.

All they want to know is if you want to add on some kind of scar cream if its also covered. That's it. Then 2 days later I got an email saying my insurance didn't cover it. They haven't bothered me since. Go ahead and call. You can say yes or no to the cream. Good luck.

I honestly don't think they wait for a prescription from your doctor because I filled out the form. They sent me an email saying they sent the form to my doctor. Then a few days later they emailed me back saying the doc sent the prescription back and they would notify me if approved. Well I haven't even had my first appt with doctor so why would a doc fill out a perscription on a patient he's never seen. I think they just take your insurance info and see if they can get it approved and gov from there. Today they emailed me and said my ins does not cover it. So u think they just go directly to your ins company.

Yes. My bcbs federal just denied my insure nutrition request but it is legit so if I were you I would atleast try to get it.

Im very excited. I have my first appointment with my surgeon on Thursday morning. Im done with my 3 month weight loss trial as required by my insurance BCBS Federal Standard (Florida). I only lost 8lbs. I actually did that part first. Im using Dr Lord in Pensacola FL. Id love to connect with someone who actually used him as well. I've heard nothing but great things about him. Im hoping things will progress quickly from here on. I have no comorbidities but my bmi is 50 so Im sure I will have no problems with approval. Im always reading the forum. Thanks for all your postings. The information has been most helpful. I welcome all advice. Im so looking forward to being on the losers bench. Thanks

Im in too. Im pre op but I need to get used to eating right. I feel like I need to eat all the stuff I know I wont be able to eat later. I need to focus on something else. CW: 345 GW: 315

Anyone use Eas Carb Control Shakes? Wasnt sure if they are recommended with 17g protein. Im just getting prepared for the day I get on the losers bench. Ive used them before and love the taste.
