  1. I love this forum especially the statistics it gives me hope. I am 10 weeks post sleeve and apart from the first 2 weeks my loss has been slow I am 37 lbs down since surgery I lose a pound here and a pound there. I exercise nearly everyday which I am enjoying, I look better but I guess I had unreal expectations that it would just fall off me. I try really hard not to weigh myself daily and go for 2-3 days I just feel a little despondent at times and find it hard to believe I will loose the 80lbs I have to go! I guess I am stressing that my surgeon and Dietitian told me that sleeves only loose 60% of their excess weight and I want to loose 100% Does the weight just stop coming off after 6 months?
  2. Breakfasr All bran and Almond Milk Snack Protein bar lunch Chilli with small amount of cheese 2-3 oz chicken Snack 3oz of sugar free vanilla pudding Snack 1 WW string cheese
  3. Couldn't go bike riding today so went on treadmill and for the first time in my life I ran on the treadmill, instead of walking!!! How wonderful is that
  4. It is possible without the shakes I cannot tolerate any of them-so I eat protein rich food
  5. I bought a bike a couple of weeks ago and although I am enjoying it-it is hard work but I push myself The big hill that I live on the top of is lovely on the way down but it is very hard on the way up and my legs shake once I get to the top!
  6. I am sure who ever said 'My eyes are bigger than my belly' must have had WLS Today I baked chicken drum sticks and once they were done I bounced down to the Kitchen to get my dinner! I placed 3 drumsticks on my plate and sat down to eat them-not a thought in my head that I could not possible eat 3 drumsticks I ate one and started in on the second when I realized I was full and I could not even eat the second one let alone the 3rd Previously I would have wolfed down 3 and got back for another now-this is what WLS has done for me! My eyes are definitely bigger than my belly! I still get hungry that hasn't changed for me but the difference is no matter how hungry I am, a few bites in and I am satisfied
  7. Just can't tolerate the protein drinks at all-I forced one down this morning and felt ill for a couple of hours
  8. I have had a couple of stalls but thanks to this forum I was prepared and it was ok-I will try to get a photo later and post my current look I haven't tried crackers yet but I did eat scrambled eggs on brown toast yesterday-it was ok but it wasn't as nice as i thought it would be In fact nothing really tastes as good anymore-i just eat is because I have to
  9. Monday I am 8 weeks post surgery lots of things have improved in my life Weight loss 34 lbs (not as much as I would have liked) Clothes hanging off me lots of compliments I have lost 51lbs since April 18th Eat just to live not live to eat! Do get hungry but once I have eaten i am satisfied not looking around house for more food Struggle with Water but I get to 64 oz Like it now that I can chew food Just incorporated brown bread, eggs and crackers into my diet! Don't worry that I don't know what to eat or when to take supplements Lab values are good Can work a whole week and feel tired on a friday-I did have extreme fatigue for the first 2 weeks back at work
  10. I bought a bike and started riding for exercise, boy it is hard work but it is also enjoyable. I hope that it does get easier in time! I have a very busy erratic life. My surgeon told me no matter how horrible, or long my day is I have to get home and go exercise So I force myself to either go walking or ride my bike Those who use the bike for exercise can you tell me how long it is before it gets easier LOL
  11. I am from Canfield not far from Youngstown I am 8 weeks post op
  12. Yes they can, talk to your surgeon about what he feels will be best for you
  13. Everytime you feel hungry drink a bottle of water
  14. I had my sleeve 7 weeks ago-which book do you recommend for me? I can only buy one so I want to make sure I get the right one
  15. 6 weeks out and my boobs are defiantly deflating! I cannot imagine what they will be like at the end
  16. I think you the regret you are feeling is normal-I know I felt it and still feel it sometimes-I am early on but I do understand what you mean. It is a kind of mourning the loss of freedom in what you eat, the pureed stage of the diet is horrible and i have got to the stage of almost puking when I eat cottage cheese or yogurt. I am sure I may never eat cottage cheese again. I am getting to the stage where food is just what I have to eat to live. I think we can go through the 5 stages of grief with this surgery! Some people may laugh at me but I think it is normal to do this
  17. I went back to work last week at 4 weeks and I am struggling with my energy levels up beyond what I expected I do have a demanding job and I have to travel up to 2 hours per day-then I am on my feet a lot I forget to eat on time, it is hard getting all my fluids in, and it is difficult to take my pills (Vitamins and calcium) Please tell me it gets easier? There is no chance of exercise as I fall into bed as soon as I get home
  18. Yes I eat it nearly everyday
  19. Sleeved on 6/2 HW 279 SW 262 CW 236 Soft pureed foods-very boring Can drink normally now doesn't hurt so easier to get fluids down
  20. You are indeed an inspiration-thank you for sharing
  21. I have just viewed my test results on line and do not get to see my Surgeon until 7/10 They all look good apart from my Prealbumin which is 15 I read on line it shows poor nutrition and not enough protein intake-I am taking around 75gms of protein in my diet Has anybody's labs shown this?? What did you do?
  22. Tomorrow is my 1 month anniversary since I was sleeved Clothes feel loose Down about 25lbs Back to work yesterday Getting complements already!
