Blowing It With Christmas Goodies
Sounds like we are all going through the same thing. I am sitting here feeling really bloated... I am amazed at how much I have been able to fit in in the last 2 days. I went for a long walk today and will continue to do so in the next week just to keep the weight gain at bay. Good luck everyone with getting back on track.

Welcome to my xmas world.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!
Hi Cindy, I know what you mean... we can't be too hard on ourselves, we just need to take note and get on with it. My next fill is on 23 Jan but I'm going to try to get in sooner than that. I did a 45 min walk this morning and will do another one tomorrow to help keep the weight from creeping up. I had another big food day today but I will definitely be back on track tomorrow. We always celebrate Christmas & Boxing Day with food but I didn't expect to be able to eat so much.

2008 - The year the Whale died
Congratulations on taking the big step. I was banded on 1 November and have lost 12.6 kilos. It's been a bit hard over xmas with no restriction but I went for a 45 min walk today to make up for some of it. I know when I get better restriction it will start dropping off again. You are brave to do this and I wish you all the best... I wish I had done it when I was younger.

Rash????
At least I am not alone with this horrible thing. I was told the rash was either from the antibiotics I took for the infection or the thai dinner I had the night before. It is still there on the lower part of my body... I look like a leopard. I will go to an allergy doctor after the holidays to see what could have caused it. Enjoy the rest of your Christmas break.

Hungry
I was getting the same looks from my family yesterday. They know I have very little restriction at the moment but that doesn't stop the comments. My brother and one of my nephews are two of the biggest stirrers around... making fun of me all Christmas morning. They kept saying things about me busting my band... my brother even went as far as showing how by blowing up a plastic bag and popping it... such a loving brother. You have to laugh at them but sometimes it's hard. My brother is considering getting the band done as well so I can't wait to give him some back when the time comes. Did I mention we are a mad family?? :D

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!
Merry Christmas everyone! I am ahead most of you in time so we've already had ours. Well I have to say I've been a bad bad girl... I'm sure if Santa knew how bad I was going to be he would not have brought me any pressies yesterday. I so desperately need my 2nd fill. There was way too much food and no willpower. :funscale:I know I didn't eat as much as I would have in other years but I certainly ate much more than a banster should have. I am on steroids for this awful allergy rash I have and I think they are making me hungry... should finish them in the next day, so hopefully that will help. Have a great day all! :clap2: :clap2:

Rash????
I had a rash on my port incision after my first fill so I took antibiotics to help... after a few days it went away but then I had a major allegy attack all over my body and face. The doctors at the hospital couldn't say if it was from the antbiotics or if it was from some thai food I had. I have been on Phenergan and steroids since 2am Saturday morning... the rash is fading in some areas but still full blown in others. The first photo is of the port infection and the other 2 are of the allergy attack... that rash is still all over my body... has faded from the top end though. What a way to spend Christmas! :cry :cry

Disney anyone?
I had a 7 week holiday in the USA/Mexico last year and we went to DW in Orlando... loved it. I didn't go on the big rides because of my BP but if I had the chance again I would go for it. I'm from Australia so I unfortunately have no plans to travel back to the USA at this stage. I must say it will be hard to eat healthy food there. I guess if you eat half of your meal and with all the walking you have to do, you should be able to at least maintain your weight. Good luck and have fun!! :whoo::whoo:

xmas present- the big 50-yea!!!

Put in ICU after surgery
I was back at work after 1 week but still sore and tired. Depends how well you do after surgery. Mine is a desk job as well.

Hi From Australia
No problem and Merry Christmas to you.

Hungry
My family are already watching what I do and at times it's a pain. One of my sisters keeps reminding me to slow down when I'm eating but rather than be happy about it I tell her to mind her own business (not nice) but I can't help myself. I guess I already know what I'm doing wrong and being reminded about it makes me feel worse. Exercise is definitely the key during bandsters hell because it will help us maintain if we are unable to eat the smaller portions. I had a binge day yesterday, so I'm going to work on it today... may even have fluids for the day.

Hi From Australia
I am from the North Shore and had it done through Drs Steve Liebman & Garrett Smith from North Shore Weight Loss Surgery. They are located at the NS Private Hospital. I'm sure if you do a doctor search on here you should find someone closer to where you live. Good luck.

Put in ICU after surgery
I thought so too but was told they do it as a precaution... maybe my surgeon's office only. I am amazed at how quickly people are sent home in the US... I needed to be looked after on that first night... think I was being a "big" baby.

No restriction and bingeing
I definitely do need more restriction... only have 2 mls in a 10 ml band. I am amazed at what I can get down if I allow myself. I need a little more willpower while waiting for my next fill.

No restriction and bingeing
I had a doosy today, have gone from 1 piece of toast with low fat cream cheese for brekkie to corn chips, crackers with cheese, nectarines (3 already today), an ice cream popsicle and pizza for dinner. I have a horrible allegy rash all over my body which has been there for 3 days and spent most of yesterday and the night before in emergency... today I am depressed about how I look and feel and I think the food has been helping me deal with it. Of course, now I feel like crap because I ate rubbish. I guess tomorrow's another day and I have had a really good run with the weight loss so far. I won't have another fill until 23 Jan but hoping to get in before if I can. Anyway, don't be hard on yourself, just note your mistake, get a better fill and get on with it.

A Gigantic Thank You to the November Nymphs!
Congratulations Tish... glad to see you back on board.

Anyone in Sydney?/
Thanks Danna. it's slowed up in the last couple of weeks but I'm still happy with it. I have this horrible rash all over my body and face... my face is really swollen and I went to emergency last night and again today... I think it's a reaction to the antibiotics I was on or the Thai food I had... they're not sure. I was given 3 lots of meds to take... hope it clears up before Christmas. Have a great Christmas & New Year.

Anyone in Sydney?/
Hi Greeneyez, I'm from Sydney and was also banded by the doctors at the Nth Shore WLS. I am now 7 weeks out and have lost 12.6 kilos... very happy with the result so far. Good luck with your search for a doctor. Hi Danna, how are things going? You look like you're losing well.

First Fill
Japan is such a long way away, so it is good that he's back in the USA. I don't have any kids myself, never got married either... never met the right guy. Did I mention I am a commitment phobic?? I have 8 nieces & nephews so they help any maternal instincts. I have low fat jelly & custard in the fridge as well. It's all the socialising that I have been doing that has been the killer because the type of food you eat out is not as good as home. Anyway, despite all my whining, I just weighed myself and have lost another pound. Not much but better than putting any on! :whoo::whoo:Now the plan is to get out there on the pavement on the weekend and lose more.
-
Countdown to Onederland!
Good on you :whoo::whoo:... you got there before I did. I haven't weighed myself for 3 days but I doubt if any weight has come off. We're still a week off from the new year so it could happen yet. Congratulations to New_Me as well. :whoo::whoo:

First Fill
Same age, same band date... we obviously woke up about our health at the same time. Aussies & Texans... I can kind of see the similarity... I met a couple of Texans in one of my previous jobs... love the accent... you know "ya all". I will be off work for just over a week, so back at work on 2 Jan. I work as an executive assistant with a big global IT company. I have been getting hungry ... I am finding I want something to eat sooner than I did in the first 4-5 weeks. I haven't weighed myself in 3 days but was stable at my last weigh in. I'm not worried if I lose it slowly, just don't want to put any back on. I definitely don't want my band too tight... still want to enjoy life. I've had a couple of wines over the last few weeks with all the work xmas parties. Must say I am ready to lose the next few kilos though. I plan to do a lot more exercise over the holidays. Enjoy the time with your son. Where is he stationed?

First Fill
What a bummer. I am already hungrier than I was and I'm trying not to over do it but another month to wait... hope things don't go crazy in that time. We'll just have to urge each other on. :clap2: :clap2:
