TOMORROW IS THE DAY
Hi everyone. Well it is almost here. Tomorrow is my surgery. I have been fortunate as my surgeon only requires two days of clear liquids prior to surgery. I do admit I am hungry but it hasn't been too bad. I am nervous yet excited. All of the positive comments here have helped me so much and I really appreciate them. I will keep you posted as I continue on this journey. Thanks again to all of you!

Made up my mind
Thank you. My date is the 22nd and I am starting to get a little nervous. It's like an excited nervousness--does that make sense? I know this is the right decision for me and I truly appreciate all of the responses I have received . My grand kids wanted to go do the Paddle boats tonight and I have to admit I just don't have the energy to do that. I know that will soon change and I look forward to being able to do the things I love to do and also the things my grandchildren like. Thanks again!!!

Made up my mind
Thank you to both of you ladies. I do understand the joint pain. I had my left knee replaced 2 1/2 years ago and the meniscus removed from my right knee 1 1/2 years ago. I have tried every weight loss program out there. My older sister passed away at the age of 54 and my older brother passed away at the age of 58. Both were from obesity related illnesses. As I got closer to the age of 60 I I really began to wonder if I was going to make it to 60. I am pretty healthy other than my weight. That may sound odd but I do not have diabetes yet or some of the other problems associated with being overweight. When I saw that my BMI was closing in on 40 I knew I had to change something. I am a hard worker and not a quitter. I am a two time cancer survivor and have much to live for. So here I am with this new journey ahead of me. I am excited yet nervous. But I know I can do this. Thank you for the words of encouragement and I will surely keep you posted!!

A road block in recovery...hospitalized
Hi. I was so impressed when I met Dr. Snyder at the seminar. I researched this surgery every which way I could. I also looked into different hospitals and surgeons all up and down the front range. Everything kept leading back to him. I am self pay so I have really put a lot of thought into this decision. Thank you for your comments. It's scary, even at my age, which is 56. Keep resting and think positive. !!.

Made up my mind
I am real new to this site and in posting comments. I am a 56 year old gramma (they call me "Mimi"). I have decided to have a lap band and my first appointment with the surgeon is the 16th of this month. I have been to a seminar, researched this every which way I could and made my decision. I appreciate the comments from everyone even though at times it's made my head spin:). I look forward to this new season in my life. Happy a happy evening!!!:)

I am so sorry to read about your problem post-op. I am brand new and have been keeping up on your progress. I will also be going to the same hospital you were when the time comes. I am sending best wishes your way and know you will be up and buzzing along before you know it!!! Take care of you!!!

Just Starting The Lap Band Journey
I am a brand new member to this site. I am 56 years old and live in Colorado. I have done research for months on the different surgeries and everything keeps leading me back to the lap band. I have been to a seminar and have my first appointment on the 16th of this month with the surgeon. I have been reading the posts here on all the lap band topics and sometimes it's made my head spin:). But I do appreciate the comments made and am looking forward to this journey.
