My daughter who just has 15 pounds extra is trying to lose weight now. She said she can't let her mom get smaller than her, lol. I thought it was funny she's had 6 babies and I think she looks good.

Went to my last weigh in today and I lost 4 more pounds! I know I'll lose more with being on the 2 week shake diet, did anyone get under the qualifying BMI ? If I lose more I will be under, do they weigh you at the hospital also?

I'm sorry to that you got scarred and ran. My surgeons office only does the surgery twice a week and his next opening in in January. So maybe they are having a hard time finding a spot. My surgery date was scheduled 3 months in advance. Do hope things go well for you and you get your date soon.

I'm only allowed 2 Protien shakes and a small piece of Protien meat and veggie. So yes I would call your doctor

I started Monday for a sleeve date of Oct 27th. 2 shakes a day and then a dinner of Protien and veggie all the way through the 2 weeks.

Woke up yesterday not feeling so good, it'll pass I say. Well today is the day I've started my 2 week diet. 2 shakes and a Protien and veggie for supper or can do lunch. I'm miserable, can't breathe runny stuffy nose, headache. I see the NUT for my last weigh in tomorrow, then the surgeon on Thursday! Please please please let this get better. Anyone else get sick 2 weeks or sooner to their surgery date?

Yes I have to pay the 20% at the hospital on the day I pre register. I can't lose much more or my BMI wwill be under 35. Just hope I can keep it where I am till after dr apt on Wednesday . Think I will be safe after that, with the pre diet I will lose more for sure. I had to go through every test there is because of my copd, sleep apnea. I also have high bp and cholesterol. I had a stress test, one of the things medicare wants done on their list of many. Wasn't bad, I had the chemical one where they give you stuff through an IV. Had an echo also same day, all turned out well.

I start my pre-op Monday, the bariatric coordinator called yesterday to give me the rest of my appointments. See the surgeon the 16th, pre admit is the 22nd. Be at hospital the 27th and 2 week dr visit on Nov 11th. I'm just so excited and well nervous too. I'm sure everything will go good, I will most definitely be asking him to take as much gas out as he can! That part scares me, I've had surgeries befor and don't remember having gas pains.

LainieG, from what my bariatric coordinator told me is medicare doesn't approve you for surgery. They submit all the paperwork with the billing and if your ducks are in a row they will pay for it. My secondary ins doesn't cover the sleeve but they do the bipass and banding go figure. So I'm stuck with the 20% to pay for. Said they haven't had one person on medicare that was denied after surgery. Start my 2 week diet, 2 shakes and a Protien meal on Monday, dang it's coming fast. I too start my pre-op diet the 13th. I'm not bad about the eating everything I just want too go to my favorite eatery! Which is Kansi , where they cook the meal on the grill in front of you. Well I'm going Friday on date night whoo hoo!

I start my pr-op diet on Monday 13th. Two shakes a day and sensible Protien and veggie. I'm excited and just can't hardly believe it will be here the 27th! Just hoping I'm in better shape on Halloween. My 9 grandchildren and moms dads will be here to trick or treat, I have the better neighborhood. Also they come early for pizza, we love it. Just hoping grandma is feeling up to it.

My mom is still alive but has dementia really bad. So if I were to tell her my surgery she wouldn't remember sure wish I had my mom back.

I've not talked with the surgeon yet about my medications. I'm on theophylline time release for my lungs and I know that is a metabolism downer. Found that out when I had my stress test, but they did get my heart rate up for 6 min and then said it was enough.

You should go to your PCP and have it documented, the more documented problems the better chance for plastics later. Also a yeast inf won't clear up on its own therefore call drs and make that appointment. Good luck on it clearing up fast.

Wow I sure didn't know Abilify will do that to you. I take it twice a day, have only been able to lose 9 pounds in 6 months.

Wow all such good responses to the band vs sleeve. I too have elected to do the sleeve. I have a sister who lost a lot of weight on the band, had tummy tuck, boob lift, face done...and has gained most back! Just can't see a needle going into my port as they call it, whew just can't imagine it.
